There’s not a Liverpool or Arsenal player in sight in the Scout Picks for Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 3 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Robert Sanchez (£5.0m) gets the nod between the sticks ahead of Chelsea’s home match against Fulham on Saturday. The Spaniard has conceded just once in his two matches so far (an effort from 25+ yards, to boot), and given that Marco Silva’s side haven’t really impressed from an attacking perspective this season, a home clean sheet could well be on the cards.

Man U players are a trap even on a free hit. Burnley are not that bad

      Yeah I'm avoiding.
      Not convinced.
That being said they'll probably win 9 - 0 now.

I think we get either a massive performance like a 5-0 with Utd rallying behind the manager after the carabao cup disaster
Or we get another lackluster performance and Amorim resign after that

Unlikely to get a 1-0 or 1-1 type result I think

      3-0

      cunha 32' mbeumo 56' sesko 73' 😉

really dont think united are that bad either, still top the league for shots and shots in the box after playing 2 decent defences this season

As a united fan, I have to be honest, pains me to say cause I do think deep down almorim is a great manger, but the man as to go, seriously there's enough problems at are club without have to deal with almorim saying 1 minute he loves us and wants to stay forever, then the next he said he could leave, what's that about, that ain't going to help us atal, he has to change and adapt, if wer winning a match we gotta see the match out, change up the formation to secure the 3 points, we don't have the players for his system, Thomas frank was the man we should have went for, he's willing to work with what he as and make it work until he gets the players he wants, almorim won't change, #thebipolar1

I don’t think he’s a good manager. It’s the managerial equivalent of Darwin banging in goals in Portugal. The general standard is just so much lower.

The PL is at the top of the game where there’s 19 other coaches backed by vast teams who will analyse and poke holes in your system. You can brute force this by having great players but United don’t have those and he’s being found out and unwilling to react.

He’s either too stubborn or too stupid to be at the top of the game.

Something as too change as he said, and it generally could be him thats a problem, we don't have the luxury to think we can stick to a formation that clearly are players aren't comfortable with on the home we can get lucky and get a sneaky win, now let's be honest and not beat about the bush I think the players have to take a hard look at thereselves, not all the manger I don't care what anyone says but the performance off some players is an absolute disgrace, there thinking they can just get by because they play for united, No1 is really willing to step up, bar maybe if I'm being honest when Cunha picks the ball up in midfield he generally runs straight at the opposite players and is willing to take them on and go for a shot,

I agree. I don't know how anyone could watch Marco Silva's post match interview and come away with any other conclusion. He even said the phrase "it's that simple" when talking about how he tactically controlled the game.

Managers come and go, but what would worry me the most is that the board are seemingly still behind him. That is very concerning.

    2. MJF
      10 months, 23 days ago

Old Trafford is a revolving door for managers and players. Its Amorim's fault right now just as ten Hag, Ole, Jose, LVG and Moyes were all to blame beforehand. Players wise we'll see who emerges as the scapegoat to fill Rashford's place, just as he filled Pogba's before that.

The club is completely rotten to the core, that's where the issue lies IMO not with individuals.

You're comparing completely different eras, with very different board rooms and squads. Things have changed considerably since Berrada, Wilcox, and Vivell came in.

I think recruitment was the main issue for a while. But now they're starting to change that, and they've rooted out the rotten bunch. They seemed to have a completely different spirit during pre-season and it showed against Arsenal. I don't think recruitment is the issue anymore, Cunha and Mbeumo are fantastic versatile players.

Is it possible that the issue was recruitment, but has now become the manager?

        No I disagree with that.

I think that was the problem but alot of the stuff has been eradicated.

Players on high wages are changing
Ownership which doesn't care is changing (or at least now split)
        Facilities have changed

The players and squad are better, less divas but the main issue is, this guy is so rigid in his beliefs and it's not even just about not having the players for the formation, the formation isn't good enough.

United do not have a good enough central midfielders to play as a two, they need three to compensate. Bruno, also isn't a CM so solve that problem too.

Do yous not think it's crazy tho, that most off United's academy players are gone or going? And in my opinion I think they must be a nightmare to work with, think about your 12 or 13 even younger and your signed to player for man united, think off the ego you would have, and have people constantly telling you how great you are, how can they stay grounded? Sir Alex don't so much more than wer ever know, how he kept all them egos in check wer never know, now it's a free for all, players can seem to do what they want, garnacho seems a real great talent and a great player, but how dare I disrespect are club by wearing another clubs shirt? Then openly slatting the club, good riddance imo

I think you've got to give him time. They were fabulous against Arsenal, that finally looked like a Manchester United team. They're still short on depth, one injury away from having Maguire in the starting line up is far, far too close for comfort. They really could do with a defensive midfielder better (and more agile) than Casemiro to allow Fernandes to play more to his strengths . . though in all honesty they should have sold Bruno for a decent price while they could and let Mainoo take that role. Forget Grimsby ; it was a B team with all the attitude problems that still exist deep at United . . .if they can produce Arsenal form week in week out nobody is going to complain.

Went for it, Palmer, Wirtz, Guiu > Sarr, Elanga, Wood (C)

Leaves me benching Rogers at the moment, but could maybe be Mateta?

Still unsure of captain, was thinking of chancing Elanga first, then JP might be a safer option, then went to Wood for more safety if you could call it that.

If you want to attack short-term and use transfer in few GWs, then Wood.

      Most certainly keep

    4. F4L
      • 11 Years
      10 months, 23 days ago

      i would keep

i get the attraction of pedro (and wood) this gw but long term these are 2 teams with European footie starting soon and many rotation options for their managers. chelsea are collecting wingers for fun and palmer will play so that leaves pedro competing with delap for minutes most weeks. then wood the same with Jesus, who apparently is very highly rated. watkins has maybe Malen unless ive missed villa sign a striker. easier for him to keep his minutes imo

pedro got 2 of his 3 attacking returns last GW from corners. just felt abit random that haul. fulham are decent defensively.

if your gut is telling you go for pedro, and you're worried about ownership and price drops/rises etc then go for it. there definitely is a fair argument for pedro, but im just not feeling it tbh at the moment

play Lewis, do not take hits unless they are really aggresive (start every game in your team, going against ownership, expect lots of points, not just -4 compensation, more than that)

Noticed a lot of people planning to swap Salah for Haaland in GW6.
But what if there’s a further injury crisis and you don’t have the transfers?
FH also seems too risky to use this early imo.

Who are the best 2 mids from the list below to transfer in for Palmer & Rutter:

    A) Barnes
    B) Sarr
    C) Semenyo
    D) Kudus

    I am leaning towards A & B.. but it’s tough.
I have Porro for Spurs cover but no cover for the other 3 teams.

Current wildcard. 8m itb, I am considering Haaland for a striker (which) however not sure. Anything else but Haaland and Salah suggestions?

    Sanchez / Dubravka
    Tarkowski / Munoz / Porro / Dorgu / Diouf
    Cunha / Mbeuma / Gakpo / Kudus / Reijnders
    Ekitike/ Pedro / Richarlison

    1. Pedersen

Triple United and a West Ham defender might want looking at again.

Can't imagine having neither Salah nor Haaland on WC. If they do fire, you will wish you did not have an expensive bench I think.

        • 7 Years

Yeah was Semenyo instead of Mbeuma. Forgot to update post...
I really can't decide if I want either Haaland or Salah as they are not firing. But thinking I might do Haaland instead of Ekitike, so I can wait for Liverpool transfers last day

        1. MJF
          10 months, 23 days ago

Its easier to sell them if they fail than buy if they do well, especially if you have cash spread around which makes it even harder.

      Cucu 》Tark 》VVD

Cucu is very attacking, you will find him in the pen box a lot of times during the game hence has a huge chance of returning an attacking return. Factor i CS and

Factor in CS's and odd DC's and you have an all rounder beast. Tark has DC almost every other gw but Everton are weaker without Branthwaite while VVD has DC's in his game, Pool defence hasnt been the best so far but fixtures are good after Arsenal.

Thanks mate. Would you mind adding your opinion on the 2 I posted below? Munoz and Porro in comparison.
I am considering all 5 options, but want max 3 of them. Right this instant I might be on

How would you add Porro and Munoz in that?

I would put Porro second and Munoz probably 5th but all are good options imo.

Munoz has very good fixtures coming up but I feel like Palace are going to struggle a bit with the EL fixtures

    A. Wood or Richarlison?

    B. Johnson, Kudus or Seymenyo?

Had the same dilemma and ended up going with Wood, at least for the short term

Also went with both Semenyo and Johnson

If more than one week Richarlison. If single Wood.

Johnson less minut, more likely to score. Kudus less goal involved but will play more minutes. Semenyo around same as Johnson with Kudus minutes.
So depends if you got bench cover, but Kudus is my guess

    Sanchez
    Dorgu porro murillo
    Palmer salah reijnders kudus semenyo
    J.Pedro Watkins

    Subs
    Dubravka guiu esteve cuyper
    2m itb

    A. Palmer and Watkins to johnson and haaland

    B. Palmer and Watkins to gakpo and wood leaving 6.2 itb

C Palmer and Guiu to gakpo and wood leaving 1.7 itb but giving potential benching issue.

    Dubravka / Sarr / Richards / Esteve

    Cheers.
