With Gameweek 6 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) nearing, it’s time to nail down our Scout Picks for the upcoming round of fixtures.

Our in-house team have put their heads together to produce the following selection.

As ever, certain restrictions limit us:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 6 SCOUT PICKS

FPL Gameweek 6 Scout Picks: Man City triple-up 3

GOALKEEPER

Djordje Petrovic (£4.5m) is our chosen goalkeeper after three of our Scout Squad pundits included him in their submissions. The 25-year-old is playing in front of a defence that has proved to be both resolute and organised so far, and could be in line for a fourth clean sheet of the season. Leeds United, meanwhile, are yet to score a goal from open play at Elland Road. They also rank 20th for non-penalty expected goals (NPxG).

    Who’s the better 4.0 defender ?

      A I think

Mukiele is averaging a crazy 14 DefCons per game!

Likely going with Alderete on the basis he will continue playing LCB for defcons. Mukiele may shift to RB due to Reinildo RC

      Hume Alderete Ballard Mukiele (L-R)

Screw it, I'm getting Foden. Let's go wild.

    Raya
    Lacroix - Senesi - Anderson
    Bruno - Mbeumo - Foden - Semenyo
Haaland (TC) - Gyokores - Pedro

    Dubravka - Rodon - King - Tosin

        Thank you!

Always nice to hear I'm not just crazy, especially when all the CCs are picking Gabriel, Ndiaye, Reijnders in their WCs...

Bottomed. Are Saka and Isak too much of a gamble this week on wildcard to break the template up a bit?

Currently have Saka in my WC, trying not to waste transfers, but now considering Ndiaye for the fixture and then use transfers to bring in Saka next week.

Cheers. Also don’t really want to waste transfers but I also currently have Ndiaye and thinking maybe watch Saka for a game or too before bringing him in

    Palmer replacement :
Seeing as Foden is predicted to start against Burnley, and also in scout picks, is it foolhardy to choose him over Reijnders? Risk is higher, but chances of a haul are there

    1. Moon Dog
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 1 Year
      9 months, 25 days ago

I think I'm doing it. If we're confident enough in this fixture to TC Haaland, surely Foden is worth a punt too. Reindeer data is actually pretty bad.

      1. Pompel
        • 12 Years
        9 months, 25 days ago

I actually transferred Reindeer out for Palmer on GW4 wildcard .... real facepalm. So on that account alone I should go with Foden. But I fear another non-starter and cameo..

          Foden easy

Have had Reijnders from the start as a punt and he's been great but would be seriously tempted by Foden if we're choosing a second City attacker now. Only think that might give me pause is the mid-week minutes. Wouldn't prevent him starting though. He should be good versus Burnley.

Not having that option, gotta go -8 at least with 0.6 itb. Aiming for this team, WC makes no sense as only 4 changes, will try to spread transfers in next weeks

Arsenal simply TOO strong om defense. Makes it harder for Gabriel to reach 10 DEFCONs 🙂

Calafiori. I think his attacking threat is the best in the game. Worth it for the injury risk (I don't think he's a rotation risk as much as most).

If you had one midfield punt up to 7.7m for a week. Who would you pick? I will likely move this player on to either Eze or Gordon in GW7 so it's purely a one week punt.

    A) Grealish
    B) Ndiaye
    C) Simons
    D) Doku

I'm sort of tempted by Doku. Memories of the 23 pter he got in his debut season or was it last season? Don't remember but I remember him absolutely hauling in a fixture like this one.

Agreed. I think he'll do well vs BUR if he actually starts but after that not so much. He was a walking shadow up until he was hooked early vs Arsenal.

Nowhere near the player he once was. Mental, physical, whatever the issue is.

When he's good he's very good and can score points like a 12m player.

Last season he was one of my best transfers of the season. Brought him in instead of the template Bruno in GW12 or smth before a good run of games, and he outscored Bruno by 30+ points in the 5 week window I held him and then I sold as he was getting dropped. A perfect short term hit and run. This could be a similar situation.

He played 15 mins against Spurs, he scored against United, then played Arsenal away. That's the data you draw from?

I think in this instance the data isn't much use. You have to go with your eye and the manager comments. Both of which are very strong imo.

Bit of a benching headache this week, leaning towards Gakpo at the moment given the early subs he’s had recently whilst Enzo should be on pens and KDH’s corners against West Ham could be spicy.

    Raya
    Gvardiol VVD VdV

On wildcard, likely BB8, 4th def and 5th mid dilemma:
    (A) Zubimendi + 4.0 + 0.1ITB
    (B) King + Guehi + 0.3 ITB

Stach + Richards or other 4.5 def especially for BB8

I'd like to know this too. Keane worth chancing over Tarko?

What would you change on this Wildcard?
Plan is to switch between 4-3-3 and 3-4-3.
    BB in GW8 or 9.

    (0.2 itb)
    Pope (Dubravka)
    Senesi/Chalobah/VdV (Gabriel, Rodon)
    Bruno/Foden/Semenyo/Reijnders (Xhaka)
    Haaland/Gyokeres/Pedro

So tough choosing defenders on wildcard.

Senesi, Gabriel, Burn, Romero, Tarkowski, Andersen, Virgil and 4.0s keep rotating in my drafts!

Trying to find that sweet spot where defcon, clean sheets and goal threat all overlap, and that’s where you see the pricier of those above are priced the way they are

If it’s any help this is what I went for
Calafiori, Romero, Senesi, Richards and Alderte.

Mine as well (VDV instead of Romero, and Mukieli instead of Aldrete)

I will be using my WC in 8. The plan is to do a CS + Defcon potential. Not focusing on goal threat.

Best mid to bring in for next few matches - Fernandes, Grealish, or Foden?

    A) Donnarumma, Gabriel, Saka and Pedro
    B) Raya, Gvardiol, Eze and Isak

    B could be heavy differential.

Donnaruma, Gvardiol, Saka, JP would be best option. Have funds for that?

Why everyone avoiding Timber or Liverpool players in their WC teams?

    1. FC Hakkebøf

No defcon potential. Good pick otherwise.

Timber - because content creators produced the narrative that Gabriel is the only Arsenal option, scaring people with rotation.

Liverpool - moving off Salah isn’t clear who’s the best pick and people are cautious with Isak once again because content creators are feeding everyone pretty much the same WC template.

Timber is a good option but the White threat is always there. No Liverpool is partly because of timing. Too early to know how Isak will perform, Salah's stats not justifying the price, Wirtz not performing as per expectation, and multiple options in the Gakpo price bracket who are performing better.

Hard to imagine a better situation than this. He's had a week off, in great form, and at home against the worst defence in the league. Surely this is the one.
