It’s Scout Picks time as we choose our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 7.

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Marc (Staff Writer), Sam (General Manager), Tom (Deputy Editor) and Neale (Editor) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, we are limited by certain restrictions.

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GOALKEEPER

3m team news:

Nick Pope (£5.0m) comes in for Newcastle United’s home encounter with Nottingham Forest. The Magpies will fancy their chances of a fifth clean sheet in seven Premier League games, especially considering that the Tricky Trees have failed to impress from an attacking perspective under Ange Postecoglou, having not won any of their six matches with him in charge.

        I just like the look of Enzo for the next few. How did you squeeze in Eze - only one Ars defender?

        I keep switching between Lacroix and Richards, will probs end up on Richards tbh but just like the idea of Lacroix getting the odd goal etc

          Yeah I went for just Gab, as for me Raya is kinda a max 6 pointer every week, whereas Pope tends to get more saves/into the bonus etc

          Yeah Richards is also great for Def Con, but I guess Lacroix has that plus a bit more goal threat (just more expensive)

    BB Roefs, Andersen, Romero & Xavi?

    Have some doubts about Xavi now tbh, and don't really like the fixture for Andersen, but it's decent. Otherwise I'd wait til maybe BB18. Full squad if I do KDH & Ekitike ➡ Gordon & Gyökeres with 2 FTs.

            Slightly concerned about Newcastle rotation with Wissa supposedly back after the IB. And from the little I've seen of Woltemade, although he has been scoring, I think he's good for creating space/chances the wingers/second striker

          Eze minutes and position not nailed with better picks, I'd have Enzo for example.

          Minted, like a lot of Brighton attackers, looks great for a few then do nothing, I'd rather have a Caicedo type.

      I've been playing the game for 20 years or so and dont recall ever taking a hit for a GK but you might be right. I'll give it some thought although will be annoying to miss pope price rise and not sure whether raya is really worth 5.6. Maybe Areola will become an option at 4.3 but definitely not taking a hit to get him for arsenal away!

        I tend to agree with taking hits on GK (unless DGW) but it depends if you have a spare FT down the line to do the GK transfer for free or plan to WC soon.

        Playing Dubravka is fine as well but you'll want to sort the GK issue at some point.
