The Matchday 6 deadline for UEFA Women’s Champions League Fantasy season is almost here.
In this article, our expert @Schurrle_FWSL reveals his team selection.
Matchday 5 delivered 64 points and a slight red arrow. Even so, my team remains inside the top 100, sitting 77th overall.
One matchday remains. All fixtures kick off at the same time, so substitutions and captaincy changes will not come into play. With confirmed line-ups available before the deadline, here is how I will set up for Matchday 6.

GOALKEEPERS
My goalkeeper setup looks difficult this week. Both Stina Johannes and Lola Gallardo face teams inside the top four. Clean-sheet odds look slim.
I currently start Johannes. The home fixture gives her the edge. I remain unsure a goalkeeper transfer makes sense.
Only one option has scored more than 20 points across the first five matchdays. That limits the upside. Even so, a move to Catalina Coll (€6.0m) or Olivie Lukášová (€5.0m) remains under consideration.
DEFENDERS
Despite no defensive returns in Matchday 5, I feel comfortable with my back line. Emily Fox has a strong fixture away at OH Leuven. She should start after resting last week.
Giulia Gwinn continues to show attacking threat. She scored at the weekend and took a penalty last week during Georgia Stanway’s absence.
Maya Le Tissier carries the most risk. Manchester United have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight straight matches. Her penalty duties, however, keep her firmly in contention.
MIDFIELDERS
My midfield looks strong for Matchday 6. I hand the armband to Alexia Putellas again. She continues to show haul potential every week.
Seven points in Matchday 5 felt harsh. She missed a penalty and received no credit for Barcelona’s third goal after a deflection. An away fixture at Paris FC suits her style. Barcelona’s ability to win penalties also boosts her appeal.
Both Caroline Weir and Klara Bühl have returned in all five Champions League matches this season. They face Twente and Vålerenga next. I plan to hold both unless rotation intervenes. Given her form, Bühl could even take the captaincy.
Mariona Caldentey completes my midfield. She has only one attacking return in the competition so far. Her ball recovery numbers and penalty duties still appeal. OH Leuven have defended well, but Arsenal should control the match.
Vicky López currently sits on the bench. That decision remains open. I will choose between her and Caldentey for the final midfield spot.
FORWARDS
I like my forward line for the final matchday. Melchie Dumornay remains locked in after scoring twice against Manchester United. She delivered 15 points in that match.
Fellow joint top scorer Alessia Russo also appeals. She should see chances against Leuven.
Clàudia Pina remains the biggest question mark. A two-point return last matchday felt cruel. She missed five big chances, hit the woodwork twice, and posted 1.5 expected goals.
A move to Ewa Pajor tempts me. I would need funds from elsewhere. Even so, Clàudia Pina still looks due a big return.
POTENTIAL TRANSFERS
All teams play at the same time. Team news will dictate my moves.
If everyone starts, I could sell Pina for Pajor. Downgrading either Le Tissier or López, likely to a Roma option, would fund that move.
A goalkeeper transfer also remains on the table. A switch to Coll appeals but would require selling López.
Another option involves a double move. I could sell Le Tissier and Gallardo for Lukášová and Oladipo, targeting the St. Pölten fixture.
Best of luck for Matchday 6. I’ll see you in the new year for more WSL and UWCL team reveals.
