Our Serie A Fantasy: Gameweek 16 team reveals article is here. It’s a Blank Gameweek this time around, for teams including: Inter, Milan, Napoli, Parma, Lecce, Bologna, Verona and Como.
With limited fixtures and player options, here is how our experts are lining up.

NOTES
- Blank Gameweek 16 arrives this week, with eight Serie A teams blanking due to Napoli, Inter, Bologna, and Milan competing in the Super Cup. As planned, I will use my Free Hit (labelled Quick Fix in the Sofascore app) to field a full squad.
- This looks set to be the only blank of the season, and certainly the only major one. Because of that, I have no hesitation in activating a chip. I also expect most Quick Fix teams to look very similar, as the pool of viable options remains small.
- I built my squad around just a few clear principles. First, I targeted the remaining players with the highest total points. Second, I focused on teams with strong defensive fixtures, hoping to land a couple of nine-point returns at the back.
- I still have doubts over a few selections, most notably Oumar Solet and Guillermo Maripan. I remain reluctant to trust defenders in away fixtures, which makes those decisions less straightforward.

NOTES
- My Quick Fix chip is active to navigate Blank Gameweek 16.
- At the time of writing, Lazio and Juventus sit top for clean-sheet odds, so I have invested heavily in their defences. That includes Ivan Provedel, Mario Gila, and Pierre Kalulu. Marco Palestra also makes the squad. He has a decent home fixture and continues to play out of position for Cagliari. Meanwhile, Oumar Solet offers a solid floor and faces a Fiorentina side currently struggling to score.
- I am also backing a Cagliari clean sheet. For that reason, I pair Palestra with his budget-friendly teammate Adam Obert, while Murić completes my defensive unit.
- In midfield, Kenan Yıldız, Manuel Locatelli, and the in-form Nikola Vlašić all earn places. I also take a punt on Cristian Volpato, as I expect goals at both ends in the Sassuolo-Torino fixture. In addition, Martín comes in as a set-piece threat for Genoa, having registered one goal and three assists across his last six league starts.
- Up front, Nicolò Zaniolo makes the cut with Fiorentina struggling at both ends of the pitch. Valentín Castellanos also features and should take penalties with Mattia Zaccagni suspended.
- At present, Matías Soulé occupies the final forward spot. However, I may yet switch him to an Atalanta attacker, as I expect both Genoa and Atalanta to score in that matchup.

NOTES
- Gameweek 16 brings a blank round due to the Italian Super Cup taking place this weekend. My squad relies heavily on unavailable players, so like most managers, I will activate the Quick Fix chip.
- With such a limited fixture list, coverage becomes even more important. Having at least one player from each match increases the chances of landing reliable captaincy points.
- My main focus sits firmly on Lazio. They remain defensively solid and host Cremonese in a favourable home fixture on paper. I will definitely select at least two Lazio defensive assets. The third slot remains undecided. I may add another defender, or I could opt for Castellanos. His form has not been ideal, but with Zaccagni suspended, he should lead the line and take penalties.
- Beyond that, I plan to prioritise players from home sides, namely Juventus, Sassuolo, and Cagliari. I will then complete the squad with players showing decent recent form, such as Vlašić or Gianluca Scamacca. Outside the obvious picks, I am also considering a differential option for this round, including Rolando Mandragora or Mario Pašalić. Pašalić, however, does not feel fully nailed in Atalanta’s starting XI, so I will monitor the team news closely.
- My biggest dilemma lies in attack. Beyond Valentín Castellanos and Gianluca Scamacca, several other forwards appeal, including Sebastiano Esposito, Andrea Pinamonti, Moise Kean, Kienan Davis, and Nicolò Zaniolo. Any of them could make the final squad, and I will delay that decision until the final deadline checks.
- I will start with a Lazio defender as captain and, if needed, move the armband to another defender with a similarly secure outlook. I will avoid unnecessary risk and likely settle for a reliable nine- or ten-point return.
- Good luck.

NOTES
- I’ll be using my Quick Fix token this week to manage the Blank.
- My team is mostly based on odds and standout players from teams.
- I have quite a bit of budget in the bank, so there is a chance I upgrade a few players, maybe have a another tinker in defence before the deadline.
- Most of this side will remain the same though, targeting players from Lazio, Juventus, Atalanta, Fiorentina and the Cagliari defence.
- Good luck this week!
