Our WSL Fantasy expert @Schurrle_FWSL’s reveals his Gameweek 14 squad as managers prepare for another important round of fixtures.

With key decisions to make across the pitch, this team selection offers insight into the players being trusted ahead of the deadline.

TEAM REVEAL

Gameweek 13 delivered a strong return, with my squad scoring 66 points. That total sat comfortably above the average and pushed my overall rank up five places to 31st – my best position of the season so far.

Attention now turns to Gameweek 14, which brings the first blank round of the campaign. Both Arsenal and Leicester sit without a fixture this weekend, adding an extra layer of strategy ahead of the deadline.

With that in mind, here’s how my team is shaping up going into Sunday.

GOALKEEPERS

The late clean-sheet wipe for Kinga Szemik was frustrating. Still, her third save arrived in the final minute of stoppage time. That earned an extra five points through save, visionary, and bonus returns.

The Polish goalkeeper had to be stretchered off after the match. Thankfully, West Ham manager Rita Guarino later confirmed she is doing better and remains under medical supervision.

Szemik has not been fully ruled out for Sunday, but she remains a doubt. A goalkeeper transfer therefore looks sensible. My second keeper, Anneke Borbe, does not have a fixture this week.

I am currently eyeing Jennifer Falk (€4.5m). She joined Liverpool this month and has already kept back-to-back clean sheets since making her debut. Her visionary status makes her an excellent rotation option alongside Szemik. Selling Borbe would also free up an Arsenal slot ahead of their future double.

DEFENDERS

I am really enjoying Marisa Olislagers as an option, especially with her new role at wing-back. She was unlucky not to register an assist against Everton. She created two chances, including a big opportunity late on.

A clean sheet and two bonus points still delivered a solid eight-point return. Brighton’s next two fixtures look promising, and I am hopeful they bring attacking returns.

Manchester United’s upcoming schedule stands out. Their next five matches all come against teams currently in the bottom five. Because of that, I am sticking with a defensive double-up.

Both Maya Le Tissier and Anna Sandberg offer attacking threat alongside strong clean-sheet potential.

Ellie Carpenter drops to the bench this week with a difficult trip against the league leaders. She is joined by Clare Hunt, who is again unlucky to miss out on a starting spot.

MIDFIELDERS

Despite Manchester City sitting nine points clear at the top of the table, Lauren Hemp is the outfielder I am considering selling this week.

City face Chelsea and Arsenal across the next two gameweeks. That opens the door for a move to Jess Park (€8.6m), which would allow me to target Manchester United’s excellent fixtures.

I still rate Lauren Hemp highly, especially given her strong bonus-point potential. This week simply feels like the best opportunity to sell and reassess my third City slot in Gameweeks 15 or 16.

A clean-sheet point each allowed both Madison Haley and Signe Gaupset to unlock their visionary bonuses in Gameweek 13, despite no attacking returns.

I am very happy to keep Madison Haley. The American has played 90 minutes up front in both matches since the winter break. She has retained her visionary status, posted strong underlying numbers, and may still be on penalties if Fran Kirby is not fit to return.

Although Signe Gaupset has now lost her visionary status, her start in a Tottenham shirt has been encouraging. A trip to West Ham looks like an ideal fixture to start her.

Kirsty Hanson returns to my starting XI after scoring for the fifth Gameweek in a row. Aston Villa’s next three fixtures look excellent, and she is in the form of her life. I have no plans to sell anytime soon.

FORWARDS

Khadija “Bunny” Shaw and Vivianne Miedema have combined for 26 goal involvements in just 13 WSL matches this season.

Two tough fixtures lie ahead, but these are players where form matters more than fixtures. With Manchester City now out of the Subway Cup and not involved in Europe, rotation should be limited.

If fitness holds, both could become season-long keeps.

Viviane Asseyi completed my full-house of visionary points last week. Her assist for West Ham’s second goal delivered a seven-point return.

West Ham host rivals Tottenham this weekend. It is a fixture Viviane Asseyi has scored in during each of the previous two seasons.

CAPTAINCY

Even against second-placed Chelsea, Shaw feels like the standout captain option for Gameweek 14. She has scored almost double the goals of any other player this season.

If I decide to take a risk, I could switch to Asseyi or Haley – but that feels unlikely at this stage.

As always, stay on top of injury updates and predicted line-ups before the deadline. You can also follow my team news over on Twitter.

Best of luck for Gameweek 14!
