Sunderland v Burnley team news: Ward-Prowse a sub

We hate to tear you away from a gripping transfer deadline day but there’s the small matter of ‘El Fodderico/El Benchico’ this evening: Sunderland v Burnley.

The difference this week, of course, is that there’ll be more Fantasy managers than usual starting the likes of Martin Dubravka and Nordi Mukiele, given the more favourable-on-paper fixture.

Kick-off on Wearside is at 20:00 GMT.

TEAM NEWS

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris makes two changes to the side that started the 3-1 Premier League defeat at West Ham United.

Eliezer Mayenda and Romaine Mundle drop to the bench, with Habib Diarra and Chemsdine Talbi coming into the side for their first starts since the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Burnley make only one change from their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

It comes up top, with Gameweek 23 goalscorer Lyle Foster taking the place of Armando Broja.

James Ward-Prowse, who joined the Clarets on loan from West Ham late last month, is on the bench.

          He wasn't even considered nailed when most folks jumped on him. It was just because he was 0.1m cheaper on wildcard.

              Had a grand totals of 0.38 xGI and zero attacking returns in the first six gameweeks before his 17-point haul in GW8.

              So can't be talking about the same time making the decision.

        Bit similar here. Was 100k in GW19, now around 400k, 5 fat red arrows in a row. Going to be almost impossible to get top10k now

          top 10k is useless anyway. Celebration of mehness. Was not too hard to stat pad those finishes by playing safe and not taking risks. Personally, 3 digits or lower rank is where the bragging rights are.

    Should probably not be an assist on Mukiele. Defender blocks the pass and then hits it with his arm, with two defensive touches.

      Nah that’s an assist by the rules. Intended target and only the one defender interfered not two touches from two defenders. Alderete owner

        The ball changed direction with the first block, and then changed direction again with the second touch. I'd be surprised if that was given.
        Please link the rules where this is specifically written that, "two defenders two touches" and all that "by the rules" talk.

          You’re correct actually. Your point on the two touches is called out in the rules. I was repeating what I was just told having not reviewed it again myself.

          “When a deflected pass is received inside the penalty area, an assist will be awarded if the recipient is the goalscorer. When a deflected pass is received outside the penalty area, an assist will be only awarded if the intended target of the pass is the goalscorer. No assist will be awarded if the pass receives two or more defensive touches or if the defensive touch is a pass.”
