Arsenal dominate this week’s Scout Picks as they prepare for Double Gameweek 26.

The XI who have made the cut have been chosen by our Scout Squad panel.

As we’re still yet to have 10 pre-match press conferences (at least eight of which will be on Tuesday), these picks could be further tweaked before the deadline if any injuries crop up.

And as usual, certain restrictions limit us:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 26 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

FPL Gameweek 11 Scout Picks: Arsenal triple-up

David Raya (£5.9m) has been in fine form for Arsenal this season, keeping 13 clean sheets and conceding only 17 goals across his 25 Premier League matches. He’s also averaging 4.3 points per start on the road, more than any other goalkeeper who has made more than three appearances, with the exception of Jordan Pickford (5.6m). Mikel Arteta’s side are first away at Brentford in Double Gameweek 26, before they visit bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have the third-lowest expected goals (xG) tally in the division. You’re pretty much guaranteed two starts with Raya, another important factor.

DEFENDERS

FPL Gameweek 12: Saturday’s goals, assists, bonus + ‘DefCon’ points 15

The current leader of our captain poll, Gabriel Magalhaes (£7.1m) offers the chance of points at both ends of the pitch in Double Gameweek 26. The Brazilian has already produced five attacking returns this season, as well as banking defensive contribution (DefCon) points in four of his nine away starts. A promising ‘double’ away to both Brentford and goal-shy Wolves should be a great way for him to deliver clean sheets, too.

Daniel Munoz (£5.8m) is also included in the Scout Picks XI. Crystal Palace showed signs of improvement at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, with a second clean sheet in five matches to show for it. They are now set to face a Burnley side in complete freefall, having failed to win any of their last 16 Premier League games. Munoz racked up 14 points in the reverse fixture earlier this season, finding the net and keeping a clean sheet.

Marc Guehi’s (£5.2m) selection is partly influenced by the return of Ruben Dias (£5.5m), who came on as a substitute at Anfield on Sunday. Before the Portuguese’ injury, Pep Guardiola’s side had kept four clean sheets in five matches. Buoyed by their win on Merseyside, Manchester City now host a Fulham side that have created only six ‘big chances’ in their last four away trips, the third-fewest of any team. Since making his City debut, Guehi has produced seven shots in the box, the second-most of any FPL defender. He’s also banked DefCon in two of his three matches.

MIDFIELDERS

FPL notes: Calafiori ban + Rice the top-scoring midfielder

Bosnia apparently. Nice break before it because they went out the FA Cup but I hate those Thu Sun turnarounds with an away european game

As long as he is playing well he will remian in the team I imagine. The point he isn't nailed is the point where you're getting annoyed with him not getting you any points and you are probably just benching him anyway. If you have 4 other nailed defenders then no problem to bring him in at that price.

Sell Chalobah for Munoz this GW?

Chelsea keep conceding sloppy goals and think Leeds will get at least a goal tomorrow... also Trevoh puts up fairly minimal attacking threat these days

    1. x.jim.x
      • 11 Years
      5 months, 23 hours ago

Got 3 FTs for the first time in history so I'm very tempted to do Chalobah + Thiago -> Munoz + Pedro

Would have a massive benching headache though

      1. Miguel Sanchez
        • 9 Years
        5 months, 23 hours ago

Yeah the more I think about it the more i like the Chalobah to Munoz move... Chelsea were lucky to keep that last clean sheet vs Brentford and Leeds will be up for it tomorrow.

I like those moves other than you'd possibly want to swap Pedro and Thiago back in a week's time. What would be your benching dilemma.

        1. x.jim.x
          • 11 Years
          5 months, 23 hours ago

Very true - don't think there's much between them either really. My team would be:

          Sanchez
          Gabriel - Timber - Munoz
          Bruno - Mbeumo - Enzo - Rice - Semenyo
          Pedro - Haaland - Mane

Currently benching Thiago, so think the Pedro move would just be a bit of greed / points-chasing tbh

          1. Miguel Sanchez
            • 9 Years
            5 months, 23 hours ago

Yeah that's tricky given you have Mane... maybe just do the Munoz move with me and leave JP

    2. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      5 months, 23 hours ago

      Could work out

Has Chalobah stopped going up for corners? If he's still a set piece target, I wouldn't read much into the xG. I don't know though

      1. Miguel Sanchez
        • 9 Years
        5 months, 23 hours ago

He does go up but never seems to be anywhere near them when they come in. I think it's the clean sheets thing that is annoying me most. I can see another 3-1 for Chelsea tomorrow and an early DCL goal or something.

He should clean sheet in the Burnley game but then fixtures turn...

        1. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years
          5 months, 23 hours ago

I'm keeping him with an eye on the Burnley game and BGW31 vs Everton

I'll probably play Hill over him this GW, if I sell Tark. If not, I'll start Chalobah and accept the usual DCs plus any extra points

Muñoz's run is good until the blank, so I can't knock it

          1. Miguel Sanchez
            • 9 Years
            5 months, 23 hours ago

I think i'm putting myself in a position where I will need to WC before BGW31 but I've already used the BB so don't have to worry about setting that up at least.

I also want to get Semenyo in at some point and not be put off by the impending blank for him.

  11. tucaoneo

Still sitting on my hands unable to decide a 3rd Arsenal or not... I have 1FT & £0.0.
    Pickford Dub
    Gab Timber Chalobah Guehi Alderete
    Bruno Semenyo Rogers Enzo Armstrong
    Haaland Ekitike JP

Can get Rice by selling Bruno or Semenyo but neither sounds too good.
Or Ekitike -> Gyok but then again the problem is I will end up with Gyok in my team.
Because I have £0.0, whoever I sell, I cannot afford to buy them back lol.

Maybe Armstrong + Ekitike -> Rice + someone for -4. Some argue Rice is not even as good as Gab for (C) so I don't know if that's worth it.

Whilst 3 Arsenal players is preferential, it’s not essential and I’m not sure I’d take a -4

    2FT's and no Bruno!
    Thinking Wirtz/Ekitike > Bruno/Strand-Larsen.
Leaves me a little screwed in blank 31, but I don't know if I can survive another Bruno haul.

    Verbruggen
    Gabriel - Timber - Alderete
    Wirtz - Endo - Rice - Rogers
    Haaland - Ekitike - J.Pedro

    Dubravka - Anderson - Andesen - Dorgu

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      5 months, 23 hours ago

You can. Sell Rice after the DGW instead

Your defence is a bigger issue than Bruno. Dorgu to Cash/Richards/Hill

      1. Atwood
        • 16 Years
        5 months, 23 hours ago

Defence definitely an issue but Wirtz over Bruno seems suicidal

        1. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years

I'd rather have both mids than sell Wirtz, with that fixture list

JSL isn't the answer either. At least until he shows some form

Bruno won't be capped highly this GW. It's the one GW you can survive him in

I like the Munoz move... not sure the Sarr one is necessary, aparently he struggles against low blocks and teams that don't come out to attack.

Gabriel has only had one occurrance of back to back GW's without a clean, and that was City/Newcastle. He still scored a combined 15p over those two weeks.
His floor should be at least 10 points this DGW, so feels like a no-brainer to use TC.

Conceded twice to Sunderland, thrice to Chelsea, once to Forest, and then corner turned with the derby CS & win

It's a good fixture run to buy into, but I don't get the hit for Henderson

        To afford Munoz......
They did well to clean at Brighton, and were great defensively earlier in season
....BOU likely score at EVE, CRY highly likely clean vs BUR, Munoz could do double figures, and its probably the best fixture run over next 5.......

Highly likely clean is less than 50/50 fwiw for Palace. Not my opinion. Still good odds for a clean but it reflects the fact anyone can score against anyone

Think the odds can be way off for specific fixtures, and/or don't reflect changing circumstances

I think they reflect the fact there are 4-5 cleans from the 20 teams playing most weeks/average. Palace are the highest chance this week still but its the taking hits bit I'm not a fan on with defence for this reason

Even if you were to look at Arsenals odds of a clean at home say to BUR, the best fixture, it probably wouldn't be much above 60%.....though most would say that that's as close to a guaranteed clean sheet that you can get......so the odds % are mainly relative/comparative

From that run, the one Palace CS I'm almost sure of is Burnley... Who Everton also face soon

I'd rather Kelleher than Henderson, but not for a hit and not this GW

Bournemouth are on a good run, but can still be kept out (GW14)

Wouldn't have been against this for free

That Burnley fixture is Everton's only decent fixture in next 5.....

The punt is that Palace get back some of the defensive stability from earlier in season despite losing Guehi

If Palace clean vs BUR thats a floor of 12 points for both moves, with decent chance of a Munoz haul.

Kelleher cant keep saving penalties can he ? He's a bit cheaper though

Cant do Tark to Munoz without freeing up funds

Also, Kelleher's next 5 don't look great especially next couple, though there's a couple of decent fixtures in there

Would you BB or TC Gabriel here? TC creates a potential benching headache with the front 8. My nearest rival has used his 2nd TC and doesn't - or didn't - have Gabriel.

    Sanchez, Dubravka;
    Gabriel, Timber, Maguire, Konsa, Mukiele;
    Rice, Rogers, Semenyo, Fernandes, Mbeumo,
    Joao Pedro, Mane, Haaland

BB is close here. Maybe Mukiele (reluctantly) to someone with an easier opponent, to remove the chance of -1 on BB

Thanks. It is a tricky one! I would be reluctant to transfer out Mukiele, although I could afford say Richards in his place, who has a good couple of fixtures.

Tough as I think Ekitike is a better pick than Gyokeres looking ahead. But don’t like the -4s. Guehi I think has some nice fixtures so maybe B
