Brighton v Liverpool team news: Ekitike starts, Alisson out

Today’s lockdown-esque Premier League schedule sees four matches take place, each of them in different timeslots.

The first is Brighton and Hove Albion v Liverpool, which kicks off at a slightly delayed 12.45pm GMT due to a traffic accident.

TEAM NEWS

Despite the 63-hour turnaround between games, Liverpool boss Arne Slot has made just two changes from the 4-0 win over Galatasaray on Wednesday.

He’s had his hands forced with both of them, as Alisson and Mohamed Salah are out injured.

Giorgi Mamardashvili and Cody Gakpo come in for those two.

Joe Gomez is fit enough for bench duty.

Brighton’s team news is even more straightforward as Fabian Hurzeler goes unchanged from last weekend.

Kaoru Mitoma is back from injury and among the substitutes.

      I challenge anyone to have a worse troll record with any player than my record with Ekitike.

      When Ive not owned him (or benched him which I did against Newcastle) he has about 9ppg.

      When Ive owned him he has less than 2ppg. This is over the entire season, not just some cherry picked sample.

        Ouch. Got him for Wolves in 18 and he's had "one more game" perpetually since. At least I didn't bench him for Newcastle, but owning him as hurt me as downgrading to João Pedro not only would have scored more points but would have enabled the money to get Semenyo...

          Why would I cap against Burnley or Tottenham? Why wouldnt I bench him at home against Brighton, against Wolves, against Leeds at home etc etc. All better fixtures.

          All my other players had better fixtures and form but of course thats when he chooses to randomly haul becuase FPL is a shite luck based game.
