While it’s a quieter-than-usual Saturday of Premier League football, there’s plenty to interest Fantasy managers today.

New FPL darlings Brighton and Hove Albion are up later, while Liverpool and Brentford are both at home.

First up, though, is Arsenal v Bournemouth, which kicks off at 12:30 BST.

TEAM NEWS

The Gunners are still without Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber, while Riccardo Calafiori and Martin Odegaard are fresh casualties from midweek.

Eberechi Eze and Piero Hincapie are back from injury and among the substitutes, however.

There are three changes from Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League win over Sporting CP.

Myles Lewis-Skelly and Kai Havertz come in for Calafiori and Odegaard, while there’s also an alteration on the left wing as Gabriel Martinelli gets the nod over the benched Leandro Trossard.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice, who recovered from minor issues to feature against Sporting, start as expected.

It’s been a long time since Bournemouth last played a competitive match. Over three weeks, in fact, when they salvaged a late draw against Manchester United.

Andoni Iraola makes just one change to the side he sent out then, with Eli Junior Kroupi coming in for Amine Adli.

That alteration will see Marcus Tavernier move to a wider role.

Tyler Adams is fit again and makes the visitors’ bench.

LINE-UPS

Arsenal XI: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Rice, Zubimendi, Havertz, Martinelli, Madueke, Gyokeres.

Subs: Arrizabalaga, Mosquera, Hincapie, Jesus, Eze, Norgaard, Trossard, Dowman, Salmon.

Bournemouth XI: Petrovic, Jimenez, Senesi, Hill, Truffert, Christie, Scott, Tavernier, Kroupi, Rayan, Evanilson.

Subs: Mandas, Adams, Brooks, Gannon-Doak, Smith, Diakite, Adli, Unal, Toth.

That’s why Timber should have been rotated more with White earlier in the season, to prevent this

Ben White had to get his fake tan and veneers perfectly topped up before he was willing to play tbf

White is okay for today. Just need Timber back for the Etihad game.

He plays players in too many unnecessary matches.

That second leg last year after winning the first one 7-1 he still played first teamers.

Doesn’t rotate enough sometimes I agree

But I have no complaints otherwise

Couldn't risk it in the league games. Ben white has become crap since his injury last season

Timber shd have been rested in the UCL games though. UCL league games are a bit of a luxury

But it’s not FIFA where if a player hardly plays for 6 months, they can just slot back in and play the same way as before

They should have been rotated more. Like the Everton home game 4 weeks ago where Timber got injured, there was no need for him to play that, especially as it was more of a White game

        I made it 13

2+1+9+1 bonus 13 or 15 of midfielder gets defon for 12

            Well done.

Forgot he was a striker this season. I haven't owned him so completely forgot he moved. Odd as he plays a similar role to most midfielders.

2 for defcon. 2 for playing more than 60 mins. 9 for assists. 1 bonus point.

I brought him in and was unimpressed for the first 40 mins or so.

But then he grew into the game, should have had another assist when he put Traore through, and he also hit the post in a different move, so was inches away from a goal

I feel so disconnected from my wildcard FPL team this week

First time this season I'm just sort of wanting a gameweek to immediately be over. Then to get to the BB, then freehit, then use as many transfers as possible to get rid of all these mediocre players 😛

      1. fusen
        • 14 Years
        3 months, 6 days ago

Gabriel is one of the most attacking defenders in the league and arsenal rely on set pieces for goals.

He could easily come out of this with a goal or a flicked on header assist.

Losing the clean sheet is basically needed when you only own him though.

Here I am, back again, the guy who keeps predicting the Arsenal results correctly. I predicted Arsenal to lose 2-1 today and I was scoffed at. I know Arsenal inside out. It's possible they will equalise late in the second half, but it will be through Gabriel and the game will finish 1-1 if Arsenal get anything out of it. (I hope I'm wrong of course, but I rarely am).

    1. Ignasi M

Arsenal's record of early afternoon kick offs is terrible, especially at home.

Again, results deceive. The Everton game is a good recent example. Everton should have been 4-0 up at half time, but somehow they weren't due to world class saves and poor finishing. Arsenal then somehow win it 2-0.
