Manchester City kick off their ‘double’ in Gameweek 33 this Sunday afternoon, facing Arsenal at home.

The title showdown at the Etihad gets underway at 16:30 BST.

TEAM NEWS

Pep Guardiola names the same side that beat Chelsea in Gameweek 32.

It means Nico O’Reilly is fit to start.

Further forward, Antoine Semenyo and Jeremy Doku flank Erling Haaland, with Rayan Cherki in behind.

Elsewhere, there is a return to the matchday squad for John Stones.

As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has made two alterations from Europe: Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz in for Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres, who drop to the bench.

It looks like Eberechi Eze will start off the left as a result of those changes.

LINE-UPS

Manchester City XI: Donnarumma, Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, O’Reilly, Bernardo, Rodri, Semenyo, Cherki, Doku, Haaland

Subs: Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Marmoush, Nico, Ait-Nouri, Savinho, Foden

Arsenal XI: Raya, Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie, Zubimendi, Rice, Madueke, Odegaard, Eze, Havertz

Subs: Kepa, White, Jesus, Martinelli, Gyokeres, Norgaard, Trossard, Lewis-Skelly, Dowman

Do Arsenal batter Newcastle? Do you want double defence plus Rice/Gyok or they don’t appeal much at all now?

Newcastle have nothing to play for. I expect Arsenal to be very risk averse and try to avoid losing. There are hardly any defenses that look appealing so for me its double or triple arsenal def.

I've never been good at reading the bps system watching the game, O'Reilly was one below cherki when I first looked, ever since that, he put in multiple greater tackles, won the ball back several times and ended up dropping by 2 bps.

    1. tutankamun
      • 16 Years

Yes. I noticed that too, a bit odd. Maybe they were catching up from previous minus bps?

It might also be rose tinted glasses from me, he's a bit of a differential in my team against fhitters so I was watching him like it was player cam!

If Arsenal go on to win the league they can thank the ref for not sending Gabriel off.

  18. Ignasi M

There was a moment where Rice fouled Silva and apologised, patting him on his shoulder. SORRY. Rice is too nice. Rodri isn't going to apologise. Silva isn't going to apologise. Haaland etc. You need to be nasty and horrible to have that edge to win trophies at the top, top level.

    1. Brosstan

If Haaland was any arsenal player he would have rolled on the ground and gotten Gabriel sent off.

Its staggering the change in sentiment towards Arsenal. During the "Stay humble" episode last season everyone was rooting for Arsenal. Now everyone is rooting for them to lose. Arteta has done incredible damage to the Arsenal name the last year.

Pretty sure I have more of a clue than someone who denies the reality that the general football watching population dislike Arsenal more than they did last season.

Not even sure why you are getting your panties in a twist over the truth. Tilted that you are bottling the league again I guess.

Arteta is humble. He’s just passionate and made Arsenal competitive again.

Which is the real reason why people don’t like him

He did the job that Wenger should have done in his late Arsenal days. Getting rid of the Instagram culture celebrating mediocrity and getting rid of Ozil and Aubameyang. He's a bit too intense at times but it's not his job to be universally liked.

It is now exactly 5 years since Arteta made Lacazette a scapegoat.

Arteta; Laca, what is more important for you. The journey or destination?
      Lacazette; Destination
      Arteta; Destination??
Arteta; You know what we have to really care about and the most beautiful thing is the company. Neither the journey or destination is important but the company guys.

Trust the process is simply about the company and nothing else. No PL trophy imminent.

48 is not great, especially if you are BB. I'm 45 and BB.

A lot of different players scored, especially the players who were 'maybe's this week, so a lot of people have a decent chunk of points.

I imagine a lot of BB players have Dubravka and Gabriel both on 0 like me too.
