After careful consideration of our Scout Squad submissions from Jack, Merlin, Feetzz and Louis, we have finalised our Fantasy EFL Gameweek 40 Scout Picks.

The final round of the standard campaign is upon us, and every team across all 72 leagues play just once.

These picks are based on the highest-selected players from our resident experts.

FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 40 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Two of our experts have backed Christian Walton as their number one choice between the sticks this week. Ipswich Town have managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches, but a home clash with QPR offers a great opportunity to put that right. It feels like the perfect fixture for Walton to deliver a shutout.

DEFENDERS

Half of our panel opted for Alex Mitchell. Plymouth Argyle haven’t been the most reliable defensively this season, but facing bottom-of-the-table Northampton Town could change that. Clean sheet potential is there, and Mitchell strengthens his case further with an average of six points per game.

Two of our four experts also selected Adebola Oluwo. Salford City come into this match in solid defensive form, with two clean sheets in their last three. Up against 22nd-placed Crawley Town, they’ll fancy their chances again, and Oluwo stands out thanks to his added goal threat.

MIDFIELDERS

Three of our four experts not only selected Oliver Norwood but also ranked him as their top midfield pick this week. He’s been incredibly consistent, delivering 12 double-digit hauls so far and averaging 7.7 points per game.

Lewis Wing is another standout option. Like Norwood, he’s on penalties and offers multiple routes to points – goals, assists, interceptions, key passes and shots on target. Wing edges Norwood slightly, averaging 7.9 points per match.

Completing the midfield is Isaac Price. He may not match the consistency of the other two, but his fixture is arguably the best on paper. Facing already relegated Sheffield Wednesday, Price heads into the game in strong form after picking up 18 Fantasy EFL points across his last two outings.

FORWARDS

Lorent Tolaj is the standout forward this week, with all four experts in agreement. Not only was he selected across the board, but he was also ranked as the top option up front. Plymouth Argyle must win against Northampton Town to keep their play-off hopes alive, and with penalty duties plus strong recent form – four goals and three assists in his last eight – Tolaj looks perfectly set to deliver.

TEAM PICKS

Plymouth Argyle were a unanimous selection, with all four contributors naming them among their top two team picks. Strong motivation, favourable opposition and solid form combine to make them one of the standout sides this week.

Millwall were also a popular choice. Three of our four experts backed them to win and keep a clean sheet against Oxford United. With automatic promotion still within reach, depending on other results, the incentive couldn’t be higher.
