Our Gameweek 36 differentials column puts the spotlight on three low-owned players.

This time, we’ve selected assets at Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who we think have the potential to make an impact.

All three of these players have an ownership of 5% or lower.

JEREMY DOKU

FPL notes: Doku to 5

  • FPL ownership: 3.8%
  • Price: £6.4m
  • GW36-38 fixtures: BRE + CRY | bou | AVL

With three goals and one assist over his last four matches, Jeremy Doku (£6.4m) enters Double Gameweek 36 in fine form, making the Manchester City midfielder a prime differential candidate.

Owned by just 3.8% of squads, the winger has amassed 31 points in that time, the most of any teammate:

Although there has certainly been some overperformance (three goals from nine shots and 0.5 xG), Doku’s confidence is clearly sky-high, having gained the trust of his manager, Pep Guardiola.

“He makes a big step up with that, winning games. He is starting to be a winning player. He’s always been incredible but in the final third maybe he misses the last pass, but he arrives there many times.” – Pep Guardiola on Jeremy Doku

In Gameweek 35, Doku racked up 12 penalty box touches at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, more than any other player. He was top for chances created, too (four), with most of City’s attacks funnelled down his flank.

City play twice in Double Gameweek 36, of course, at home to Brentford and Crystal Palace.

The Palace encounter, in particular, looks promising, as Oliver Glasner’s focus is clearly on the UEFA Conference League. The Eagles also suffered a 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture back in Gameweek 16.

With Antoine Semenyo (£8.1m) and Rayan Cherki (£6.6m) more highly-owned than Doku, the winger presents plenty of upside as an explosive differential for Fantasy managers in need of a late-season push.

BEN WHITE

  • FPL ownership: 0.6%
  • Price: £5.1m
  • GW36-38 fixtures: whu | BUR | cry

In the continued absence of Jurrien Timber (£6.0m), Ben White (£5.1m) is a differential name to consider at the back.

He’s started successive Premier League matches for Arsenal, amassing 12 points.

He was superb against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, too, with one shot, one chance created and three crosses, as well as four clearances.

Crucially, his connection with Bukayo Saka (£9.9m) appears to be back, which nearly led to a goal midway through the first half.

It’s a partnership which could cause further problems for relegation-threatened West Ham United on Sunday, with left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf (£4.4m) particularly poor at Brentford last week.

This encounter also carries shut-out potential for obvious reasons: Arsenal are the best team in the division for clean sheets, goals conceded and expected goals conceded (xGC).

As for Timber, his last appearance for Arsenal was in Gameweek 30, with Mikel Arteta providing an update on the Dutchman in his Friday press conference.

“No chance for the weekend. I don’t know [if we’ll see them again this season]. There’s still a fair bit to do, so everything has to be so smooth and quick if they want to have a chance of playing minutes.” – Mikel Arteta on Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino

White has delivered two assists and 15 points across his last two visits to the London Stadium, and could profit again in Gameweek 36.

MATHYS TEL

  • FPL ownership: 0.2%
  • Price: £6.2m
  • GW36-38 fixtures: LEE | che | EVE

With Xavi Simons (£6.4m) injured, Tottenham Hotspur’s creative burden could fall on Mathys Tel (£6.2m) for the final three Gameweeks.

Indeed, the Frenchman supplied an assist when Simons was absent in Gameweek 35.

He nearly added a second, too, when his deep delivery for Randal Kolo Muani (£6.9m) was tipped over the bar by Emiliano Martinez (£5.1m).

Playing in his best position off the left, Tel was lively throughout and delivered seven crosses in total, helped by a share of corners.

Spurs host Leeds United in Gameweek 36, and although Daniel Farke’s men have shown plenty of defensive resilience of late, they could officially be safe if West Ham lose to Arsenal on Sunday.

If that scenario unfolds, it could be a good time to play them.

Leeds have kept just two clean sheets away from home this season, regardless, with two goals conceded in their most recent road trip to Bournemouth.

In that encounter, the home side created four Opta ‘big chances’.

A match against Chelsea, who have struggled to keep clean sheets this year (one in 15 Premier League games), is also on the horizon.

It’s now two wins from two for Tottenham, and given Tel’s positive contribution in Gameweek 35, he could potentially make a big impact over the remaining three matches.

Thoughts on ignoring the palace defenders and going Pedro Porro as a punt? i'm trying to make up ground in my mini league and not totally convinced palace keep a clean sheet in either game.

Hey everyone. I wanted to do a full written guide for Gameweek 36 to go alongside my video (here: https://youtu.be/UoAaAohUDZ8, as I know a lot of people prefer reading these rather than watching or listening.

I haven’t managed to post one of these in a while because I’ve been busy recovering from surgery, working a lot, and generally touching grass a bit more. But I wanted to put one of these out since it is such a big gameweek and I had a bit of time left on Friday.

If you want the deeper breakdown, stats, visuals, and longer discussion, you can check out the video linked at the top. I post a video every week.

For those interested in previous ranks and overall track record for these kinds of write-ups:

    Best ever rank: 18th
    All time: 2k
    Current rank: 220k
    2025: 100k
    2024: 20k
    2023: 10k
    2022: 8k

    Teams to Target:

The absolute priority this week is Manchester City. You need three from Man City. I really don’t think you can go without that.

I’d also strongly recommend at least one or two Crystal Palace players. Two is very viable, and three would probably be optimal if your structure allows it.

The other key teams to target are:

    Arsenal
    Brighton
    Aston Villa
    Manchester United

Brighton are still pushing for Europe and host Wolves at home, which is arguably one of the best single fixtures of the week. Brighton are also in very good form.

Arsenal are obviously still trying to polish off the league and face West Ham away. West Ham are trying to avoid the drop, so it’s not a complete walkover, but Arsenal assets still look excellent.
Burnley host Aston Villa. Villa are pushing for Champions League football and Burnley are comfortably the worst team in the league.
Manchester United’s players may mentally be “on the beach” in some ways, but their fixtures remain good through to the end of the season.
The important thing to note is that Brighton are the only one of those single-gameweek teams playing at home.

    Rotation and Fixture Notes:

Crystal Palace played Shakhtar Donetsk in the Mickey Mouse cup on Thursday night, then play Sunday, then Wednesday again. There will absolutely be rotation.
Because of that, I probably wouldn’t recommend Palace attackers or midfielders. I think the Palace investment should mainly be in defence.
Manchester City also have the FA Cup final coming up against a sorry looking Chelsea and are still technically in the title race. If the league becomes mathematically unrealistic, I could definitely see Pep rotating heavily towards the cup final.
That’s another reason why this week feels much more defensive than attacking in terms of where the value lies.

    Defensive Picks:

    Manchester City -
For me, Nico O’Reilly is essential.
He’s effectively playing as an attacking number eight for a Manchester City side still chasing the league. He has some of the best attacking numbers in the side and there’s honestly no reason not to own him.
If you’re chasing rank and looking for a huge differential, I’d even consider captaining him.
He’s the only City defender I’d personally bother with.

    Crystal Palace -
Palace have three really good defensive options and two elite ones.
    Maxence Lacroix:
Very reliable for minutes, excellent set-piece threat, and strong DEFCON numbers. He was elite for DEFCON last season and is still very good this year at around 10.8 per game.
    Jaydee Canvot:
Another excellent DEFCON option, around 11.9 DEFCON per game recently. Very reliable and a really strong value pick.
    Daniel Muñoz:
This is your “shoot for the stars” pick. His attacking threat and overall quality are incredible, but the minutes are definitely a concern because Palace will be heavily prioritising the cup final.

I wouldn’t really bother with Tyrick Mitchell personally.
If you want to go very aggressive, you could even triple up at the back with Henderson, Lacroix, and Canvot or Muñoz. Richards is fine also.
The important thing to remember is that Palace’s final two fixtures after this week are Brentford away and Arsenal at home, which are not good. So if you’re bringing them in now, you’ll likely want to bench or move them afterwards.

The actual double itself is still fine:
    Everton at home
    Manchester City away

The issue is less the fixtures and more the likelihood of rotation due to cup priorities.

    Arsenal -

    Gabriel remains very good.

    Fixtures:

    West Ham away
    Burnley at home
    Palace away

Two of those fixtures are extremely good, albeit after this week.
Gabriel has been the top-scoring defender over the last six seasons for a reason. He has DEFCON, clean sheets, and huge set-piece threat.
If you can rotate Palace defenders out in 37 and 38, I’d slightly prefer the Palace defenders this week. Otherwise, Gabriel is the safer long-term option.
Saliba and Hincapié are also viable, but I much prefer Gabriel. If you already own Gabriel though, doubling up is definitely interesting.
I actually prefer Hincapié over Saliba as a pick because he offers a bit more attacking threat and freedom to get forward.

    Other Single Gameweek Defensive Picks:

    Jan Paul van Hecke
Very solid DEFCON option with Wolves at home.

    Joachim Andersen
Reliable DEFCON and Bournemouth at home.

Both are perfectly fine if you already own them.

    Attacking Picks:

    Manchester City -
Haaland is essential. The only real question is whether you captain him.
    Personally, I’m triple-captaining him.
If you’re looking for captaincy differentials though, there are several very viable alternatives:
    Jérémy Doku
    Rayan Cherki
    Antoine Semenyo
    Nico O’Reilly
Semenyo is badly out of form right now, while Count Doku and Cherki are flying and have much stronger underlying numbers and minutes.
If you already own Semenyo, it’s difficult to justify moving him out. But if you don’t yet have a third City player, Doku or Cherki could be absolutely massive this week.

    Crystal Palace Attackers:

There aren’t many Palace attackers I’d really want.

    If I had to pick:

    Ismaïla Sarr
    Brennan Johnson
    Jacob Strand Larsen

But honestly, I’d much rather triple up on Palace defensively than invest in their attack.
Ideal Palace setup for me would probably be something like:

    Henderson (or Munoz/Richards)
    Lacroix
    Canvot

    Single Gameweek Attackers:

    Bruno Fernandes
Needs no introduction. One of the best FPL assets of all time.

    Bukayo Saka
West Ham away followed by Burnley at home.

    Declan Rice
    Excellent fixtures and very reliable.

    Danny Welbeck
Hosts Wolves at home in a very strong Brighton side.

    Pascal Groß
A cheap and reliable Brighton option against Wolves.

    Ollie Watkins
Travels to Burnley, which is obviously one of the best fixtures in the league, I do worry for rotation with him despite his red hot performance on Thursday.

    Final Thoughts:
As usual, if you want the deeper analysis, stats, visuals, and full breakdown, feel free to check out the video.
I appreciate everyone who’s followed this season. Hopefully they’ve helped you out at some point along the way.
Good luck this gameweek. I think there are going to be some big scores flying around in GW36 if CPL don't rotate too much.

Feel free to ask questions below if I have time and see them, I’ll try to answer.

Hope you all have a boss gameweek. Cheers.
