Having declined to take up the option of buying him earlier this summer, Crystal Palace have returned to Aston Villa to snap up Evann Guessand (£5.5m) on a season-long loan!
The winger/attacking midfielder spent the second half of 2025/26 on loan at Selhurst Park, joining in late January.
He’d only signed for Aston Villa at the start of last season, but failed to make much of an impression in the West Midlands.
In truth, while he contributed to the UEFA Conference League-winning run with the Eagles, he didn’t set the world alight at Palace, either.
Two attacking returns for Villa, two for Palace, and a miserable 44 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points spread over nine starts and 12 substitute appearances.
He and fellow recent recruit Dwight McNeil (£5.5m) look set to add depth to the Palace attack. And by depth, read ‘back-up’ to dual 10s Yeremy Pino (£5.5m) and Ismaila Sarr (£6.5m).
