MLS Fantasy continues, and we’ve asked our experts to reveal the teams they’re backing ahead of the deadline.

NOTES
- After taking a punt on Roman Celentano in Round 20, I’m ready to move him on. James Pantemis and CJ dos Santos are the leading replacements, with both having favourable home fixtures this week.
- At the back, Maxwell Woledzi could also make way. Nashville face a difficult home meeting with Evander and FC Cincinnati, so Manu Duah and Agustín Resch are high on my shortlist. I’m also tempted by a punt on Kalani Kossa-Rienzi in Saturday’s early kick-off.
- Thomas Müller feels like a no-brainer this round. Vancouver Whitecaps face struggling Sporting Kansas City, making him one of the standout players to target.
- Up front, Sam Surridge has disappointed during the couple of rounds I’ve owned him. He’ll likely make way for Petar Musa, who offers a useful late-game fallback this week and also has appealing upcoming fixtures.

- No changes in goal this round. I’m happy to stick with Matt Turner of New England Revolution and Brian Schwake of Nashville SC. I’ll reassess the position when using my second Wildcard next round.
- At the back, Ryan Porteous makes way for Kalani Kossa-Rienzi of Seattle Sounders. The rest of the defence stays intact. Mamadou Fofana faces Columbus Crew, while Mathías Laborda keeps his place ahead of Vancouver Whitecaps’ meeting with struggling Sporting Kansas City. Kai Wagner and Maxwell Woledzi complete the backline.
- Two changes are planned in midfield. Carles Gil makes way for New England teammate Jack Harrison, who has posted better numbers over the last three weeks. Hany Mukhtar also comes in following a run of impressive performances for Nashville. Nico Fernández Mercau, Evander and Guilherme retain their places to complete the midfield.
- There are also two changes up front. Prince Owusu comes in to target Inter Miami’s leaky defence, while Petar Musa gets an appealing meeting with St. Louis City SC. Lionel Messi retains his place and will start the round with the captaincy.

- My goalkeepers remain unchanged this round, so there’s no need to use a transfer there.
- In defence, I’m looking to bring in Neil Pierre for his excellent points floor and goal threat. Finn Surman is also a possibility, although Pierre is currently my preferred option.
- Nico Fernández returns to the midfield this week. There could still be another late change, with Antoine Griezmann potentially making way for a punt before the deadline.

- In goal, I’m looking to move on from Luka Gavran, who has a tough home fixture against New York City FC. Chris Brady appeals away to a Seattle Sounders side struggling for form and without a win in their last nine league matches.
- Yohei Takaoka will remain in my squad, with three favourable fixtures coming up. I’m not currently planning any defensive changes. Kai Wagner, Maxwell Woledzi, Mathías Laborda and Tomás Jacob all offer attacking potential. However, Lucas Halter is suspended due to yellow-card accumulation, so he’s likely to be one of my transfers out. In midfield, I’m happy to keep Evander, Carles Gil and Pep Biel for another round.
- Miguel Almirón is likely to make way, with a Portland Timbers midfielder currently in my plans. Guilherme was benched for the entire 90 minutes against St. Louis City SC, but I’m willing to keep faith unless something drastic happens. Up front, Lionel Messi will captain the side for his home meeting with CF Montréal. Denis Bouanga and Idan Toklomati join the Argentine in attack.
