Fantasy EFL rolls into Gameweek 3, bringing with it the first big Double Gameweek of the season and plenty of opportunities for managers to attack.

Our expert panel, including the 2025/26 Fantasy EFL winner and an AFCON Fantasy champion, reveal their teams and explain how they’re navigating the Double.

• I’m starting with Zach Jeacock in goal. Northampton’s fixtures really appeal to me as a differential play, while their defence remains underrated.
• Adebola Oluwo is my first defender. Fantasy EFL managers from last season will remember his huge goal threat and defensive contribution potential. Combine that with some of the best fixtures this week and he feels like an easy pick. Alongside him is Harry Boyes. York have what I believe are the second-best fixtures of the Double Gameweek, while Boyes has been playing in an advanced wing-back role. He has also started the season with two goals and an assist.
• Kamil Conteh takes the first midfield spot after recording 10 interceptions across his opening two matches. That gives him an excellent floor heading into the Double. York’s Alex Newby also makes the midfield. He’s playing very advanced and looks secure for minutes, while two goals and an assist already highlight his attacking potential. My final midfielder and captain is Oliver Norwood. Previous Fantasy EFL managers will know all about his numerous routes to points, so he’s an easy lock for me this week.
• Macaulay Langstaff leads the line. He has a proven goalscoring record in League Two and combines that with excellent Double Gameweek fixtures.
• Salford and York are my two club picks, as I believe they have the best fixtures of the Double Gameweek. As always, the team remains subject to change as we approach the deadline and get more team news. Good luck, everyone.

• Christy Pym starts in goal. Grimsby have strong clean-sheet prospects across the Double Gameweek, so I want some coverage of their defence.
• Adebola Oluwo is my first defender. He offers plenty of bonus potential and goal threat, alongside the possibility of clean sheets. The second spot goes to James Connolly. Walsall have started strongly at the back with consecutive clean sheets and also have good fixtures.
• Oliver Norwood and Kamil Conteh feel essential in midfield. Both offer excellent floors and have very appealing matchups this week. Charlie Webster takes the final spot for now, with a decent floor and attacking-return potential despite not having set pieces.
• Up front, Alessandro Cavegn gets the nod. He impressed last time out and showed what he can offer. With good fixtures and a strong Bristol Rovers side around him, I’m backing him to deliver again.
• Bristol Rovers and Grimsby are my two club picks. I’m fairly confident both can produce strong returns across the Double Gameweek.

• Between the sticks, I’m currently leaning towards Jed Ward. Walsall have kept three consecutive clean sheets, while selecting him also avoids going all-in on the Grimsby defence.
• Adebola Oluwo looks difficult to leave out at the back. Salford have an appealing pair of fixtures, while his ability to collect points through defensive actions gives him another route to returns.
• Alongside him, Cameron McJannet offers too much potential to overlook. He caught the eye in Gameweek 2 and gives me individual Grimsby coverage without having to select Pym as well.
• Captaincy currently goes to Ilias Chair. QPR have generated 3.8 xG across their opening two matches, with Chair contributing two goals and an assist from 2.07 xG and 0.66 xA. Seven shots and six key passes further highlight his attacking involvement. The second midfield position currently goes to Oliver Norwood. He has impressed in both opening Gameweeks, and is just one of the most consistent options in the game.
• Up front, Jarrod Bowen gets the nod and currently takes vice-captaincy. Nine shots, nine key passes, 0.53 xG and 1.25 xA is an excellent combination ahead of meetings with Wolves and Watford.
• Joining him is Fabrizio Cavegn, which means switching to a 1-2-2-2 formation. Bristol Rovers have already scored seven goals from 5.4 xG, while Cavegn has contributed two goals and an assist alongside seven attempts.
• For the club selections, Salford City and Grimsby Town are my current preferred pairing. Both have appealing Double Gameweeks and also complement the individual players already in the side.
• That leaves Charlie Webster, Kamil Conteh and Macaulay Langstaff among the biggest omissions. Webster is probably the one who concerns me most.
