The Scout Picks return ahead of Gameweek 4 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

This is a Free Hit in all but name, with the focus solely on the upcoming Gameweek. Selections made in the Scout Squad are a big factor when it comes to deciding who made the final cut.

As ever, certain restrictions limit us:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 4 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Best £4.0m + £4.5m goalkeepers for FPL 2026/27

Between the sticks, highly-selected Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) should deliver because Brighton and Hove Albion are visiting a Coventry City side that’s still without either a point or a goal. He’s a unanimous Scout Squad pick.

    Thoughts on this Wildcard team?

    Verbruggen
    Calafiori / Hall / Konsa
    Bruno F / Palmer / Rogers / Groß
    DCL / Haaland / J.Pedro

    Bench: Steele, Slater, Egan, Thomas

Pretty template so it's good, in theory.

      Maybe change up DCL?

Weak bench, not enough Arsenal defence and don’t like having to play DCL and Groß each week. Think you have to pick two from three for the big boys.

I’m not on FH this week but if I was, I would definitely be putting Gakpo in my starting line-up. It’s the perfect situation. Injury risk means most won’t transfer him in, many may transfer him out. If he plays, I could see him getting 10-15 points. Just put a decent 12th man on your bench and fill it with two other starting cheap players. It’s the best way to gain a huge advantage this week.

I can’t fit him in with double Chelsea mids unless it’s for szob. Im fairly confident he’ll at least match gakpo’s points if he plays

    Hello friends

Ignored my team after making an early transfer last weekend. Good to go here? Feel like I can hold off wildcarding until at least the GW6 international break hopefully. What do you think?

    0FT 0.5ITB
    Kinsky
    Calafiori Ajer Thomas
    BrunoF Rogers Foden Wirtz
    Haaland (vc) JP (c) DCL

    Rushworth Van Ewijk Maguire Slater

    Cheers!

Yeah the non-arsenal defenders aren’t great but they can make do until GW6. No Palmer and Isak is going to hurt but not sure it’s worth it to rip the team up, particularly when Bruno and DCL’s fixtures are great GW5

    Good to go this week?

    Verbruggen
    White / Calafiori / Ballard
    Palmer (C) / Semenyo / Bruno / Tzolis
    Isak / Pedro / Wissa

Lammens / Le Fee / Hume / Rodon

I will then likely wildcard next week.

I'm a Sunderland supporter who has a possibly silly belief that there is a point or more available in this Arsenal game, but not having at least 2 Arsenal defenders in this scout squad is "interesting". Save money elsewhere to afford another.

    1. H Dog
      • 16 Years

Particularly as the money is spent to essentially get VVD instead

Which is silly, Pool will more likely concede

I like the double Arsenal midfield option, which gives you quite a lot of CS points anyway. I actually don’t really like the scout squad this week.

    Current team:

    Pickford
    White Calafiori O’Reilly Jacquet
    Bruno Semenyo Tzolis Wirtz
    DCL JP

    Lammens; Mbeumo Brobbey Ballard

    2FT, 0,0ITB

Considering doing Mbeumo —> Rogers, but is it even worth it? Who would I bench in that case? Starting 11 feels quite good as it is imo.

Hi everyone, how's this wildcard looking? I have 0.4 left itb, IV went with Vušković and Muharemović they rotate well with eachother, as does Gomez and Dewsbury ideally I'd like gross, but I'm 0.2 short, IV tried to be different, as most wildcard teams look the same, I have toyed with the idea off having saka but having triple arsenal defence seems the most secure and safest bet.

    Raya
    Calafiori, konsa, Vušković
    Palmer(C), mbeumo, szoboszlai, gomez
    Pedro (VC), haaland, wissa

Bench, dubravka, Dewsbury hall, Muharemović, Mendy

I like it, this site has convinced that at least for this week Gomez is better than Gross (Gross probably better over multiple weeks, you won’t have that problem as will play KDH most weeks)

Raya feels high compared to other keepers, think there’s value in 5/4.5 options, but understandable. Money ITB could be used to rotate third striker depending on fixtures (ie Garcia for 6-8)?
