Our team of contributors are returning as we count down to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 4 deadline.

This time, we hear from FPL General, who shares his Gameweek 4 team, transfers and chip plan.

General, aka Mark, has three top 500 finishes to his name, as well as a further nine inside the top 50k. He currently sits at 33k in the world.

Gameweek 3 Review

General 4 Gameweek

The Free Hit didn’t exactly go to plan! As is often the case with FPL, doing nothing would’ve yielded better results. I stand by the decision-making process; the outcome just wasn’t great. No major damage was done, at least, as the rank dropped modestly from 16k to 33k.

There were a lot of folk on Triple Captain Erling Haaland (£15.5m) for a 27-pointer, so I’m happy enough to come out of the Gameweek in the top 50k. It could’ve been a whole lot worse! 

It’s been a great start to the season, which has me very excited for the rest of it. The football has been a lot more enjoyable to watch compared to last season, too, and hopefully that continues.

        I think Isaak has Pens but the only evidence so far was the Newcastle pen, no manager in his right mind would have put isak under that pressure. I have a feeling he’ll take some

      That sounds good really. I don't like the number of people taking man u out before the Fulham game next week, but you're keeping a good option in that game by still having Mbeumo

      If selling Bruno not a thing Le Fee to Slater would let you do Mbeumo to Palmer and you'd be able to upgrade a defender. Hume a bigger issue than Shaw though right, didn't play last game?

      It is the classic eggs and baskets dilemma. Bad games for one (or both) Arsenal and Chelsea and with United very uncertain vs City it could be a feast or famine week.

    If Dedic is out, Tark to Myko and get another NEW defender. Rest of defence should rotate nicely around tough fixtures. Barry to play next two with King benched.

    I think 2xCHE mids is better, but Isak worth the money?

      If be very worried without Cala, but if you don't want to be sweating on team news and Hincapie every week then fair enough.

      I think JP is possibly the best value attacker going. If you don't want triple Chelsea, then I'd take Rogers down for him. If you don't mind triple, you could get him in for Barry with a few smaller downgrades (eg Tark>Braithwaite/Myko, Barnes/King > Slater/Gomez, Dedic > Thomas/Diop) or just swap him for Isak, although I like Isak as a choice.

        Thanks - agree with this.

        I think I prefer Isak and Rogers over JP and a Liverpool mid who is likely to be involved in goals 1 week out of every 4, but getting both forwards is something I am looking at...

      I think Barnes is a no brainer - always gets good returns, more nailed now Gordon has left and good fixtures. BOU haven't got the fixtures in the next few (2 reasonable home games and three tough ones). I also think Tav is the better BOU pick personally.

      Gomez over DCL is a tough one. Probably stick with what you have got as Leeds are at home and DCL can always find a goal. Wouldn't start Gomez over anyone else

      If you think Saka is worth it, then crack on. Why Cala over Konsa? Team is well balanced but seems a no brainer to go for the CB who should be nailed for now over the more expensive LB who might get rotated or subbed early.

      Counter argument - Hume is a problem anyway and having a better 4th defender adds robustness. I might not be leaning into the Palace defence too hard but upgrading him with someone who is good in the longer term isn't a bad transfer

        Yeh I don’t want the headache of a rotation but don’t trust either Verbruggen or Kinsky on their own.
        So gone a little different with Suzuki set and forget. He’s looked good.

        I could do Hall > Thiaw to afford Mendy > DeCuyper but that doesn’t leave me anything in the bank for flexibility.

      I will keep Cherki, he will start against Utd and have a high chance of returning. Second option with Thomas from Coventry as I believe they are better than all promoted teams even taking into consideration their 3 losses.
