The pre-match press conferences for Gameweek 7 start on Thursday, with four Premier League managers set to face the media.

We’ll bring you the key quotes and injury updates from all these pressers in the article below.

KEY GAMEWEEK 7 TEAM NEWS

THURSDAY’S PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES

LIVERPOOL

Andoni Iraola couldn’t tell us if Dominik Szoboszlai (hamstring), Cody Gakpo (ankle) and Alexander Isak (quad) will be fit for Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

“It’s early for us to say, we have still tomorrow’s training. Obviously, they were not ready for last night. We have to wait and see. I think it’s still very early but the same way I said they are not available for the previous games, I leave the chance open this time, yes.” – Andoni Iraola

Ryan Gravenberch serves a one-match ban after his dismissal for two bookable offences in Gameweek 6.

Long-term absentees Hugo Ekitike (Achilles), Conor Bradley (knee) and Giovanni Leoni (knee) remain out.

Asked about potential rotation, Iraola said…

“In this period especially, when we are basically playing every three days – almost less than three days – you need more players. That’s why we changed the team a little bit yesterday. We will need to change again at the weekend, we will need to change again when we face Villarreal in another three days. We need everyone, we will need everyone in one moment or the other. Everyone has to be ready because we will need him probably.” – Andoni Iraola

NEWCASTLE UNITED

Matthias Jaissle is hopeful Bazoumana Traore will be fit to face Aston Villa.

The winger had to come off after taking a blow to his knee against Coventry City on Monday.

“Bazo seems to be much better, we’re happy for that. It didn’t look that way during the match. He’s progressing well in the last few days so hopefully he’s able to join the group on Saturday.” – Matthias Jaissle

Anthony Elanga (unknown) remains out, but is set to join training next week.

“Unfortunately, Anthony’s been out for many weeks so now it’s the process to bring him back slowly but surely in a smart way. Hopefully next week he’s about to train again, at least partially, and then we can reintegrate him step by step.” – Matthias Jaissle

Updates were also provided on Tino Livramento (unspecified) and Jacob Ramsey (thigh), as well as Dan Burn and Joelinton, who both returned from injury as substitutes in Gameweek 6.

“With Tino we need to be cautious and we don’t rush him. We know about his injury situation and history but we’re optimistic in the next few weeks we can bring him back step by step. With JJ it’s a bit different. He’s making progress. Hopefully next week he can join in partially in training and then we can build it from there.” – Matthias Jaissle

“We need to manage it really carefully. We missed them so much. Joe has had more training compared to Dan and the next steps for both of them is to give them more game time. For Dan it will most likely be too soon to get that starting position already as he’s just trained a couple of times but for Joelinton it could be a bit different.” – Matthias Jaissle

HULL CITY

Nobel Mendy has suffered a groin injury and will be out for a couple of weeks.

“Mendy is out of this game because he felt his groin, so he will be out for two weeks.” – Sergej Jakirovic, via Hull Live

Jack Butland (shoulder), Charlie Hughes (groin), Matt Targett (ankle), Darko Gyabi (thigh), Mohamed-Ali Cho (calf), Lucas Gourna-Douath (unknown) and Ilyas Ansah (back) are also out.

Jakirovic was later asked about Mohamed Belloumi, who was benched in Gameweek 6 as a consequence of fatigue following international duty.

“If a player approached you and said, ‘Boss, I am not feeling good, I am a little bit exhausted,’ this is normal because we have other options. We have [Joe] Gelhardt, who scored the goal, which is perfect when you have a lot of quality in that position. Mo came in and also scored, which is great for the team.” – Sergej Jakirovic

Belloumi’s replacement, Joe Gelhardt, who netted the opener against Everton, is still lacking a bit of “rhythm” according to the Hull City boss.

COVENTRY CITY

Taiwo Awoniyi returns to the squad after completing his three-match ban.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden (hamstring) is also available for this match.

“He’s come back sharp, he looks good. He’s still a very valued squad member on and off the pitch.” – Frank Lampard

Luke Woolfenden (knee), Aurele Amenda (calf), Josh Eccles (ankle) and Haji Wright (quad) are still out.

“Josh is not yet – he had a baby girl last week. He’s got a little bit of an issue with his ankle – the calf is fine – so he’s not on the training just yet, we hope so in the next 2-3 weeks to progress.

“And Woolfenden is a little bit longer than that.” – Frank Lampard

Gvardiol isn't going to start vs Ipswich, is he?

Very uncertain whether to start him or Konsa, given the high chances of a benching

Just shipped 4 (should have been 5) and O'Reilly started last league game - it's not looking good

He still probably outscores Hall even iff he's benched - he was practically playing as a striker despite winning 2-0

He is likely to be on the bench as last week. He still hit an assist though

Possibly sell Bruno and/or Szoboszlai? I think you need a chelsea midfielder.
Gvardiol is a tricky one. I sold last week on WC due to fear of rotation. In your case id probably keep this week since if he starts he could score points at both ends of the pitch. Sell him next week though.

I’d probably want to sell MGW after Ipswich anyway so you could do it a week early, but you may also want to keep for Ipswich. Depends how highly you rate that fixture I guess whether you sell MGW or KDH tbh

I don’t think it’s time to ditch Konsa just yet. I like the move to 3-5-2. You could get Barry and Manzambi (or other cheap forward) if you want 8 attackers, or you could go to Cherki. Konsa is great value so I’d want to see Saliba back before ditching him

Hall vs Villa and Palace could potentially outscore De Cuyper vs Liverpool and City.

Villa are going to tear Newcastle a new one... Villa just beat Fener 6-0 and Newcastle shipped 4 to Coventry.... Brighton put 3 past Arsenal which has a better defence than Liverpool and City...

If City scored 3 against Liverpool.
Liverpool put 6 past Lindt Chocolates.
How many would PSG score against Austrian team?

Sure, but what is more logical, Newcastle suddenly finding form where that has been none, or Villa to continue their rise as the new team beds in and they finally start to click?

I wonder if everyone with Wissa and Barnes actually wish they had Jackson and Manzambi....

              I get it.
In fact I’m looking at Manzambi as potential Schade replacement should be he signed off for longer.

I'm leaving Schade on the bench at the moment - its a shoulder injury from a fall - unless it was broken / dislocated, I don't expect him to be out for long and when he is back - I expect his blistering form to continue.

I'm rolling this week, but I fear Saka may be the one to get ride of first - a lot of Arsenal fans are suggesting a permanent change in pace from past injuries, but I'm not sure who to target yet. He did Score and assist from the bench yesterday so for now I'll hold.

Maybe Palmer - Chelsea have good fixtures coming up - or maybe a City midfielder but there are now 5 of them and I expect a lot of rotation....

if its a dislocation or broken shoulder it wont be a quick return

                    6 hours, 23 mins ago

That's what I said.... you'd think they'd disclose it if it were the case though....but what we do know, is that he tried to play through it - that suggests its definitely not broken, and I'd be very surprised it it were dislocated - the pain would be too much to 'play through it'

It’s funny because Palmer is getting returns from fantasy assist (fouled for free kick) etc but his actual threat is low.
Saka on the other hand is taking a lot of shots and not returning.

                  1. Jarnathan

and Bruno F is also crap, so the premium midfield is a bit of a wait and see.... maybe Mbuemo will be the best call despite Man U's dreadful form...

Don't get snippy cos your logic's rubbish - Newcastle are unbeaten at home still and Villa have an awful record there.

It's a bit more complicated than "Team A beat Team B, and Team B beat Team C, so Team A will beat Team C"

Newcastle probably win 2-1 or something - at home, in need of a result and had a week off. Probably won't touch Villa until November-ish, unless Jackson goes on a mad one.

I think the best time to BB is when your bench players have good fixtures because that's also the time that you're still not going to play them ahead of your better assets even if those better players have poor fixtures.

Honestly I don't think its as much as a headache as you think. Firstly I don't think Schade's injury is serious - he tried to play through it. If I had to guess, he'll be back next weekend..

As for Bruno - well you could ditch him if you have a spare transfer, but I'm really not sure to whom... maybe wait a week?

You think Saka is the right midfield bet? Odegaard is suffering from a lack of Arsenal attacking output....so replacing it with Arsenal attacking output doesn't seem logical.
