The penultimate match of Gameweek 9 sees Liverpool take on Arsenal at Anfield.

Andoni Iraola’s men are six points behind Arsenal, having beaten Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 last time out.

Meanwhile, a win for the Gunners would put them three points clear at the top of the table.

Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

TEAM NEWS

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta makes five changes from Gameweek 8.

Ben White, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Mikel Merino, Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres drop to the bench.

Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis and Kai Havertz come into the side.

Tzolis is back from a hamstring injury, while Calafiori, Declan Rice and Noni Madueke have shaken off their respective issues to start.

For Liverpool, Iraola brings in Trey Nyoni for Ryan Gravenberch.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz are both back on the bench, meanwhile.

Rather than awarding points for only a win/draw, PL should introduce bonuses for attacking threat/SoT etc - could watch games like this all day.

0-0 is zero points for either team…

Zero points for goalless draw is actually a very good idea

    HT brain teaser:

Which GW looks best to bench-boost right now?

    10) Kinsky (lee) | Vuskovic, Hinshelwood* (BRE) | Muharemovic (TOT)
    12) Kinsky (sun) | Evanilson (ful) | Calafiori, Konsa (MCI)
    14) Kinsky (ARS) | Isak (che)* | Konsa (tot) | Vuskovic (nfo)
    16) Kinsky (liv) | Jackson (che)* | Muharemovic (FUL) | Konsa (MUN)
    17) Kinsky (BOU)* | Evanilson (tot) | Vuskovic (ful) | Muharemovic (avl)
    18) Kinsky (BHA) | Evanilson (cpl)* | Isak (avl)* | Vuskovic (tot)

*10) Kroupi (ips) in the XI (and Hinshelwood also), a potential liability
*14) Could bench Rogers (LIV) or Evanilson (HUL) instead... or Gross or Hinshelwood (nfo)
*16) Could bench Isak (TOT) or Rogers (AVL) instead
*17) Could bench Trafford (avl) instead
*18) Could bench Jackson (LIV), Gross, Hinshelwood (tot), Taviernier or Kroupi (cpl) instead

    Ridiculous result so far.
Arsenal will get smashed to pieces in the second half.

    1. This is Liverpool, maybe if they still had Salah. I read he scored 85% of Liverpool’s goals vs Arsenal in the last 7 years lol

Fielding Calafiori only in this match, I'll take 1-2 with Cala goal and someone else than Isak scoring for Pool

We've seen Arsenal withstand sieges before, so getting smashed doesn't seem the most likely outcome to me. But Liverpool have played their hand now. Can see Arsenal adapting and Liverpool having nothing else to give.

  15. Just realised Arsenal triple defense EO is HIGH in my MLs, probably need a Liverpool goal now!

Next few weeks, which option better?

    A. Palmer + Kudus
    B. Rice + Mbeumo/Dewsbury Hall

I mean, in what world is that pullback on the shirt not a penalty ? I don't own Isak but he stops a goal by pulling his shirt, isn't that what VAR is there for ? Ludicrous imo

Have 4FT and a decent looking team for this week. Would you do DCL > Eva or too sideways?

    Raya
De Cuyper - Konsa - Cala
    Palmer - MGW - Rogers - GroB
    Haaland - Jackson - DCL

Lecompte - Van Hecke - Hall - Sangare

whats peoples thoughts on forest defence so far? watching them they look solid, their underlying defensive data is very good. but they just keep finding the most ridiculous ways to concede. an OG yesterday and another deflected shot. are they just going to be one of those teams that constantly find a way to concede
