We’re just hours away from the second legs of this season’s Champions League quarter-finals. As always, we assess the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Player Price List and assess some of the form players on offer ahead of Matchday 10’s deadline.

A free Fantasy football app, FiT is available on a number of mobile devices, including iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. Fantasy managers have until 10 minutes before the first kick-off in any given Matchday to make any final alterations to their starting XIs – this evening, then, that deadline is 7.35pm, as Barcelona welcome PSG to the Nou Camp and Bayern play host to Porto.

We’re supporting FiT throughout the competition and have an official Fantasy Football Scout League, with an iPad mini available to the winner. There’s also a VIP European Match Day Experience for two on offer for the overall winner of the Fantasy iTeam Champions League game.

Tuesday April 21

We keep faith in Luis Suarez as Barcelona entertain PSG with a 3-1 first-leg advantage. The Uruguayan (10.0m) is in irresistible form right now – having bagged a brace in Paris a week ago, he notched in Saturday’s win over Valencia and has 12 goals in as many matches in all competitions for the Spanish outfit. Good news for the La Liga leaders, then, as David Luiz and co. roll up this evening.

After missing the first leg through suspension, Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to face his former club. Laurent Blanc’s side face a tough task to overturn the 3-1 reversal and will need to go on the offensive – if the 9.8m-priced Swede can replicate the form that’s harvested 17 goals in 22 league appearances this season, his side may yet spring a surprise.

Bayern also attempt to claw back a 3-1 deficit after being shocked by Porto in their away leg last week. Pep Guardiola has acknowledged his injury-hit side will need to take some risks if they are to prevail and we’re backing Thomas Muller (9.3m) to prove the man for the big occasion. The German international has been in fine domestic form, racking up 13 goals and ten assists in the league, and has struck five times in seven Champions League outings already.

After backing two-goal Ricardo Quaresma last week, we turn to his fellow wide man Yacine Brahimi. The Algerian has produced five goals and a trio of assists over eight appearances in this year’s competition – available for 7.3m, he tormented Bayern with seven successful dribbles in Portugal and his pace on the break will be crucial as the visitors look to hit their hosts on the counter.

Wednesday April 22

Monaco attempt to overturn a 1-0 first-leg loss against visitors Juventus tomorrow evening. The French side have served up 16 clean sheets in 25 home matches across all competitions so far and will fancy their chances of keeping the Italian outfit at bay. Highly-rated left-back Layvin Kurzawa (4.6m) has four assists to his name in Ligue 1 this term and looks the likeliest backline option to offer points at both ends of the pitch.

Arturo Vidal’s penalty made the difference for the “Old Lady” last week and the Chilean followed that up with an assist in Saturday’s win over Lazio. Whilst Carlos Tevez is the obvious option, the 6.4m-priced Vidal’s spot-kick duties make him an excellent alternative in the centre of the park as the Serie A leaders look to clinch a place in the last four.

With the injuries building for Real Madrid, Isco’s contribution looks crucial as neighbours Atletico roll up to the Bernabeu. Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema are all out as the holders attempt to get the better of Diego Simeone’s side after a goalless draw last week. Available for 6.4m, Isco could be a real under the radar option for tomorrow’s derby encounter.

Simeone, meanwhile, will look to park the bus and catch Carlo Ancelotti’s side on the counter. With that in mind, we turn to the visitors’ chief creator Koke as Atletico attempt to avenge last season’s defeat in the final. The 7.8m-priced playmaker has two goals and four assists already in this term’s tournament and will be confident of unlocking a backline with just three clean sheets in their previous ten home matches across all competitions.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT LEAGUE

We’ve already set up an official Fantasy Football Scout league for you to join, with an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

    Davis (Myhill)
    Terry*, Moreno*, Clyne (Hutton, Dawson)
    Sanchez, Hazard*, Silva, Sterling* (Boyd)
    Aguero, Kane, Murray

    0FT, 3.2 in bank, no WC

    Worth a -4 to get any more DGW in?

          Yuk.
          Benching murray can not be considered good advice. He's playing hull and effectively becomes unpickable after that fixture. Sell him or captain him! But don't bench him now.

    bottom of last page:

    That unexpected price drop from Eriksen has screwed me over so I cant do my planned transfers of Eriksen + Rose ---> Sterling + Moreno by a meer £0.1m, so what to do?

    A: Eriksen + Clyne ---> Sterling + Skrtel/Moreno (-8 hit)
    B: Eriksen + Rose ---> Coutinho + Skrtel/Moreno (-8 hit)
    C: Eriksen + Foster ---> Coutinho + Mignolet (-8 hit)
    D: Eriksen ---> Sterling (-4 hit)
    E: Eriksen + Rose ---> Sterling + Lovren (-8 hit)

    Panty, Foster
    Clyne, Terry, PVA, Naughton, Rose
    Hazard, Hendo, Fabregas, Boyd, Eriksen
    Aguero, Rooney, Kane

      I like E if Lovren's nailed. Did Eriksen > Sterling last night before the drop. Been thinking of Rose > Lovren if he's nailed now.

        reckon dropping Clyne will be good in the long run? May need to bring in Davis the week after if I do that as they have lovely fixtures defensively.

          I don't think they do. You can dump all Southampton, they will only be of marginal relevence between now and the end of season in my opinion.

            but they have 3 nice fixtures after this GW.

            plus I have rose + naughton both injured. really screwed. I agree its A or E...as I think sterling is essential. but which

              The might keep 2 clean sheets between now and the end of season. I really can't see more. That's why I say they are irrelevant. It's a 5-game season now.

              Having said that, Eriksen + Rose to Moreno + Coutinho looks like the sensible move to me since you missed out on Sterling. Or just Eriksen to Sterling and leave it at that.

        2. Leeroy Jenkyns
          • 12 Years

          Was playing around dropping Clyne as well. Had more pressing. But could drop Clyne for Skrtel this GW and see how Alders is doing next week. Could probably be close to Rose > Alders then. Or if he'll be out a bit, Yoshida easy move then.

        3. Shifty

          10 years, 9 months ago

          I would daresay Skrtel and co will match Southampton for clean sheets from here on out. So it's a good switch imo. Considering they are home to QPR in GW35...seals the deal for me. Well worth the -4 considering CS potential which is the basis of getting a defender.

          If it doesn't work out...it's not because it was a foolish transfer. have to play the odds.

    WASIL*, TERRY, Clyne
    HAZARD (c), Silva*, Mane, Eriksen

    Anyone know of any sites that do player heat map comparisons through the season, game by game, on a sort of video kinda thing.

    Would be interested to see how much Ivanovic has dropped back from playing on the edge of the opposition box early on in the season to back in his own half now. Or maybe not.

          No, you can't so you have to make 1 FT. Do you need double Juve DEF cover? And where's Suarez?

          Can only carry over 1 FT in UEFA.

          I have a few similar players on my team: Bernat, Wallace, Juanfran, Gotze, Brahimi, CR7, Messi.

      The scout picks are pretty pedestrian. I'm thinking James, Thiago (Alcantara), Pereya are good MID picks. You can go with your own FWDs

    WC team all set:

    Schmeichel
    Terry Moreno Schlupp
    Hazard Fabregas Sterling Henderson
    Vardy Aguero Kane

    Gilks Ramsey Alderweireld Duff

    Plan is to get rid of Fabregas, Sterling and Vardy (or Kane) at some point for Sanchez, Cork and Giroud, giving me Arsenal's most in form attacking players for their DGW.

      I would rather get Giroud now for Kane and then downgrade Ramsey to say Cambiasso. Gives you an extra DGW player this week and you lose Kane vs the best defence in the league.

      Also gives you Giroud next week vs Hull.

      Anyway, that's my 10 cents.

    Afternoon all, I don't come on the forum much, but I was wondering how people feel about Azpi for the DGW? At 6.1 he's obviously the cheapest route into the Chelsea defence, but rotation with Felipe Luis could be a risk. Chelsea always look better defensively when he plays IMO and he tends to get BPs too... thoughts? Cheers

      He would be near essential if not a rotation risk - a real bap magnet. Unfortunately Luis lingers in the background

        Thanks Abel - agreed! Part of me wants to take the risk, as it frees up some much needed funds to invest in the rest of my team. Will see how I feel later in the week...

      Rough: Sold Eriksen to avoid a 0.1 price drop because my wildcard plans were tight on budget. And after producing zip since GW28 when I bought him he gets a freak goal and 9 points. Net cost -6.

      Rough: Took a 1-week punt on Lennon. Barkley then steals Baines' penalty and misses, costing Lennon an assist and probable BP. Net cost -4.

      By little things like this are good, bad and average GWs separated.

          The way I see it, after they secure the title, they are all at risk of rotation. And maybe I'm wrong but the way Azi played last in the last two games I'd hope he'd get to keep his place! He was killing it with the BAPs

      Wow, -12 is a lot, bit Im assuming it's all for DGW's so not so bad.

      Losing Kane(and him not performing) is the only way of getting anywhere in the remaining GW's.

      1. Acquafresca
        • 14 Years

        Transfers look solid despite the hits.

        Krul > Schmeichel (LEI and SUN rotate perfect till the seasons over)
        Mane > Hendo (obvious)
        Silva > Sterling

        Kane > Vardy (maybe)

        Hesitant on losing Kane due to high ownership and potential explosiveness. Might sit on the (-8) and hold tight.

    I'm currently on Giroud.

    Kane or Albrighton to score more points this week?

    I know sounds like a silly question but Albrighton genuinely looked dangerous last GW and has 2 games and Kane against a stubborn Southampton.

    Team currently:

    Davis
    Ivanovic* Bruce* Moreno*
    Sterling* Hazard* Coutinho* Silva Albrighton*
    Vardy* Aguero

    Subs: Myhill Kane Alderweireld Rose

    Guys, any help would be very welcome:

    Am still not sure of drafting in Hendo for -4. Would be transferring Boyd to him, which although in itself not much of a problem, it leaves me with benching headaches with having to bench Kane or Vardy next week. Mightn't Hendo's points potential not take a dip with Gerrard back...?
