Recovered from Sunday? Knee perfectly rigid? Wildcard intact? Good. The morning has broken and, unlike the first morning, the FPL Bonus has been dropped into the game, revising our Gameweek three totals.

Here’s a quick glance at how the Bonus appears to pan out with our Gameweek review over on the FPL site to follow later today.

Aston Villa vs Wolves
Berra (3) Ward (3), Agbonlahor, Hennessey, Hunt (1)

One of only two matches where the bonus points were spread. Christophe Berra and Stephen Ward share the maximum with identical EA SPORTS PPI scores on the day. Gabby Agbonlahor was Villa’s top Index earner, sharing a single bonus point with Hennessey and Hunt of Wolves. Shay Given and Stephen Warnock just missed out on joining the party.

Blackburn vs Everton
Baines, Howard (2), Arteta (2)

Food for thought for those who are looking to free up some cash by shipping out Leighton Baines. Clearly, when Everton keep a cleanie, Baines is firmly in the hat for bonus points. He pips team-mates Howard and Arteta here in what was a very fortunate win for David Moyes’ side. Neville and Distin were just outside the bonus awards – Mauro Formica was Blackburn’s leading EA SPORTS PPI candidate.

Chelsea vs Norwich
Lampard, Bosingwa, Holt

No surprises here. Frank Lampard was back amongst the big scorers and, in any other Gameweek, would have attracted more Fantasy headlines. Jose Bosingwa’s renaissance continues with further bonus recognition, while Norwich are represented by skipper Grant Holt who just edges out Ramires to claim a single bonus point. Significantly, Juan Mata put in a strong EA INDEX PPI score (21) in just 34 minutes on the pitch.

Liverpool vs Bolton
Henderson, Skrtel, Adam

The three goalscorers share the bonus – again, perhaps not a major surprise. The absence of Luis Suarez will disappoint plenty however – with no goal or assist to show for his efforts, the Uruguayan’s display was not recognised by a strong EA SPORTS PPI leaving him well short of bonus recognition. A contentious issue and certainly this week’s major talking point when it comes to the bonus awards – would the old system had awarded Suarez bonus? We can only speculate but clearly, without a positive goal/assist contribution in the game, players like Suarez will struggle to overcome team-mates who do contribute goals/assists, on pure performance statistics alone.

Man United vs Arsenal
Young, Rooney, Van Persie

No real surprises here given the avalanche of points hoovered up by Young and Rooney. Robin Van Persie’s bonus over other United candidates will raise a few eyebrows given that he missed a first-half penalty. Clearly his goal and overall contribution was enough to see off Anderson who figured next in the EA SPORTS PPI from this match.

Newcastle vs Fulham
Best, Cabaye, Gutierrez

There can be no such quibbles here. Leon Best’s brace earns him maximum bonus recognition while Cabaye and Gutierrez – two of Newcastle’s most consistent performers so far this season, fetch the remaining supplementary points. Danny Murphy was Fulham’s top scoring EA SPORTS PPI performer on the day, behind a host of Newcastle players who dominated matters statistically.

Swansea vs Sunderland
Taylor, Brown, Rangel

Swansea’s attacking full-backs, so involved in the Brendan Rodgers masterplan, suck up two lots of bonus awards from the 0-0 draw with Sunderland. Interestingly, Taylor is now looks assured of starts following Alan Tate’s bizarre golfing accident. Wes Brown was again the standout performer for the visitors. Michel Vorm again registered a double figure EA SPORTS PPI score as his impressive season continues.

Tottenham vs Man City
Dzeko, Nasri, Kompany

City’s reborn centre-forward dominates, returning a huge EA SPORTS PPI score to claim the maximum bonus award. Samir Nasri’s hat-trick of assists has him placed in second on a fine City debut, while Vincent Kompany is again the top City defender on the index, claiming a single bonus, despite conceding. Gareth Barry and Yaya Toure were next for City in the rankings, with Tottenham’s Younnes Kaboul their only representative in the top ten from this match.

Wigan vs QPR
Di Santo, Rodallega, Boyce

Franco Di Santo’s brace has him well out in front when it comes to bonus awards from Wigan’s 2-0 win over QPR. Hugo Rodallega and Emmerson Boyce join the party in a Latics clean sweep. Shaun Derry was the visitors shining light as Wigan dominated the EA SPORTS PPI rankings here. Adel Taarabt again paying the price for off target efforts in a defeat – despite presenting QPR’s biggest threat on the day.

West Brom vs Stoke
Shawcross, Jones (2), Shotton (2)

A miserable display by the Baggies sees Stoke monopolising the bonus awards and the EA SPORTS PPI rankings. Tony Pulis’ side grabbed the three points with a late goal with Ryan Shawcross taking the defensive plaudits. Kenwyne Jones and goalscorer Ryan Shotton shared 2 bonus points, just edging out Asmir Begovic in the index.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It seems like everyone is wildcarding now.

But is there anyone like me who is not wildcarding in spite of his team hit by injuries, price falls and poor fixtures, and also the team placed well in the mid-1M rank?

9 penalties awarded this year by Saturday and only 3 were converted. Then there were 2 more penalties in the Utd game one scored one missed so that is 11 penalties and only 4 scored? That must be a record.

Very tempted to jerk that knee and use the wilde...

Not a bad week 75 with Roon (c) but feel I need one of Young, Mata or Silva to complemtn my attacking trio but would have to sell Lescott and RVP though to raise any cash, and as they are home next games against easier opposition I fancy points from them so think will sit tight and miss all the price rises lol and save the transfers.

Just a shame City conceded as I'm doubled up on City and Stoke at the back and could have done with that RVP pen going in too! Greedy but you've got to be in this game! 🙂

Even if Dzeko gets rotated 1 in 3, he still has huge scoring potential in that team. Bargain for 8.5. Even if he doesn't come good you can sell him for profit in a few weeks. No brainer imo.

Wolves are looking good at the back this year. Ward was an OOP I went for at the end of last season. Seems a bit points chasing, but he is tempting...

I'm gutted that I had to get rid of Micah. Risking him coming on for 1 pointers is not worth it. Particularly as we try to get big hitters up front. Ironically, I sacrificed him for Man City attackers, who in having a tactical transplant, now seem incapable of keeping a clean sheet. Just Kompany for me.

Can I just point out that having watched City v Spurs yesterday, Silva was outstanding again, could have scored two and assisted some as well. Glad I have him and happy out to keep. Still easily the best option in City's midfield imo.

I watched it too, and agree he was excellent. I was watching the game very closely though, and I picked up on the fact that Nasri assisted 3 of City's goals. This has led me to conclude that Silva is by no means easily the best option in their midfield.

That's a result based analysis though. Supposing Silva had scored two and Nasri had assisted three, what would you say?

I'd say Silva is in great goal scoring form and is essential. But that didn't happen.

I get what you're saying, that you have to look beyond the scoring and make a judgment based on positions and threat etc. But it is pretty hard to look beyond 3 assists vs no contribution to 5 goals.

silva has had a great start, no doubt. i dont see him continuing to score too many goals but i see a lot of assists. I do fancy nasri to score more regularly as well as assist. Early days but my money would be on Nasri over the course of a season.

They'd have to do some serious work to get more than one player in before the window shuts, no?

A lot of work indeed. But it has to be done. Unfortunately, i can see Wilshere being injured for another month or so, maybe even longer. A left back has to be a priority. Followed by a midfielder and then a CB.

Schwarzer is perfect. Ruddy and Krul are viable options. Perhaps Begovic?

I might go Begovic so, since I have R Taylor and don't rate QPR or Fulham defensively. I would prefer Given but they don't really rotate.

It seems pretty impossible to predict clean sheets this season so it's not really an exact science. I suggest picking the teams with sub 5m keepers that have a good defense and work fromt here looking at favourable/home fixtures.

I've got Foster who rotates fairly well. Weeks Foster has bad fixtures, Vorm has nicer fixtures.

because i want Rooney, Dzeko and RVP up front. Suarez has poor fixtures in my opinion (stk, tot, WOL, eve, MAN)

Do you not think RVP and Dzeko will both outscore Suarez in the next few weeks...?

Has everyone noticed that the 'teams selected by %' filter on the FPL site is give in 6 figures? Either the bandwagoning has gotten massively out of hand, or they don't understand how percentages work.

Yeah I noticed that. But it's actually a good mistake as it gives you their total ownership, and you can still get their percentage by viewing their profile.

Great mid. Keep it IMO. I am not sure about Moses but for that price that is it.

On the other hand I am fan on 3 big hitters in mid this season: Lamps, Mata, Young, Nani, Walcott, Nasri, Silva, Cahill even so options there.
