Recovered from Sunday? Knee perfectly rigid? Wildcard intact? Good. The morning has broken and, unlike the first morning, the FPL Bonus has been dropped into the game, revising our Gameweek three totals.

Here’s a quick glance at how the Bonus appears to pan out with our Gameweek review over on the FPL site to follow later today.

Aston Villa vs Wolves
Berra (3) Ward (3), Agbonlahor, Hennessey, Hunt (1)

One of only two matches where the bonus points were spread. Christophe Berra and Stephen Ward share the maximum with identical EA SPORTS PPI scores on the day. Gabby Agbonlahor was Villa’s top Index earner, sharing a single bonus point with Hennessey and Hunt of Wolves. Shay Given and Stephen Warnock just missed out on joining the party.

Blackburn vs Everton
Baines, Howard (2), Arteta (2)

Food for thought for those who are looking to free up some cash by shipping out Leighton Baines. Clearly, when Everton keep a cleanie, Baines is firmly in the hat for bonus points. He pips team-mates Howard and Arteta here in what was a very fortunate win for David Moyes’ side. Neville and Distin were just outside the bonus awards – Mauro Formica was Blackburn’s leading EA SPORTS PPI candidate.

Chelsea vs Norwich
Lampard, Bosingwa, Holt

No surprises here. Frank Lampard was back amongst the big scorers and, in any other Gameweek, would have attracted more Fantasy headlines. Jose Bosingwa’s renaissance continues with further bonus recognition, while Norwich are represented by skipper Grant Holt who just edges out Ramires to claim a single bonus point. Significantly, Juan Mata put in a strong EA INDEX PPI score (21) in just 34 minutes on the pitch.

Liverpool vs Bolton
Henderson, Skrtel, Adam

The three goalscorers share the bonus – again, perhaps not a major surprise. The absence of Luis Suarez will disappoint plenty however – with no goal or assist to show for his efforts, the Uruguayan’s display was not recognised by a strong EA SPORTS PPI leaving him well short of bonus recognition. A contentious issue and certainly this week’s major talking point when it comes to the bonus awards – would the old system had awarded Suarez bonus? We can only speculate but clearly, without a positive goal/assist contribution in the game, players like Suarez will struggle to overcome team-mates who do contribute goals/assists, on pure performance statistics alone.

Man United vs Arsenal
Young, Rooney, Van Persie

No real surprises here given the avalanche of points hoovered up by Young and Rooney. Robin Van Persie’s bonus over other United candidates will raise a few eyebrows given that he missed a first-half penalty. Clearly his goal and overall contribution was enough to see off Anderson who figured next in the EA SPORTS PPI from this match.

Newcastle vs Fulham
Best, Cabaye, Gutierrez

There can be no such quibbles here. Leon Best’s brace earns him maximum bonus recognition while Cabaye and Gutierrez – two of Newcastle’s most consistent performers so far this season, fetch the remaining supplementary points. Danny Murphy was Fulham’s top scoring EA SPORTS PPI performer on the day, behind a host of Newcastle players who dominated matters statistically.

Swansea vs Sunderland
Taylor, Brown, Rangel

Swansea’s attacking full-backs, so involved in the Brendan Rodgers masterplan, suck up two lots of bonus awards from the 0-0 draw with Sunderland. Interestingly, Taylor is now looks assured of starts following Alan Tate’s bizarre golfing accident. Wes Brown was again the standout performer for the visitors. Michel Vorm again registered a double figure EA SPORTS PPI score as his impressive season continues.

Tottenham vs Man City
Dzeko, Nasri, Kompany

City’s reborn centre-forward dominates, returning a huge EA SPORTS PPI score to claim the maximum bonus award. Samir Nasri’s hat-trick of assists has him placed in second on a fine City debut, while Vincent Kompany is again the top City defender on the index, claiming a single bonus, despite conceding. Gareth Barry and Yaya Toure were next for City in the rankings, with Tottenham’s Younnes Kaboul their only representative in the top ten from this match.

Wigan vs QPR
Di Santo, Rodallega, Boyce

Franco Di Santo’s brace has him well out in front when it comes to bonus awards from Wigan’s 2-0 win over QPR. Hugo Rodallega and Emmerson Boyce join the party in a Latics clean sweep. Shaun Derry was the visitors shining light as Wigan dominated the EA SPORTS PPI rankings here. Adel Taarabt again paying the price for off target efforts in a defeat – despite presenting QPR’s biggest threat on the day.

West Brom vs Stoke
Shawcross, Jones (2), Shotton (2)

A miserable display by the Baggies sees Stoke monopolising the bonus awards and the EA SPORTS PPI rankings. Tony Pulis’ side grabbed the three points with a late goal with Ryan Shawcross taking the defensive plaudits. Kenwyne Jones and goalscorer Ryan Shotton shared 2 bonus points, just edging out Asmir Begovic in the index.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Bosingwa Collins Hughes Shawcross
    Nasri Silva Anderson (Dyer)
    RVP Dzeko Rooney

Does this team make sense to anyone else but me? Seems excessive but I'm sure atleast one of Nasri or silva will do something every match.

I popped Anderson in my dad's team last night. With everything considered it seems worth it as the 6-6.5 men just are not really delivering.

Possibly downgrade the defence and get Walcott and/or Mata?

I have wildcarded in the end. A bit anode by the lack of price rises last night but my decision was predominantly based on a poor start and a need for some impetus.

An early WC worked for me last season and with the rub of the green, I could make some good gains on my rivals. Of course, I now there will be times during the season when I will be desperate for a WC (injuries/DGW etc..) but on balance, the need to get my season going prevailed.

Following form, it's the only thing you can do at this stage as results are tricky to predict so not easy to play the fixtures.

Too early to look for differentials. You have to pick the form players. Differentials come in the last few weeks once you've got yourself in a decent position.

Should I give Torres one more game week? Or will I make the knee jerk of all knee jerks and replace Torres and Aguero with Rooney and Dzeko taking a four point hit with 11 days until the next game week? Quite the dilemma.

I feel like I'm being backed into a corner here, looking at transfer activity, the market shock of Black Sunday means not making the above move will cost me 0.7 million.

I think you have to get rid of Torres now and you have to get Rooney. The other one isn't so essential though.

Depends on your strategy. To play every week or rotate with someone?

I don't fancy Blackburn keeping many clear sheets but the others are all decent bets.

I have Brown, Gabbidon and Simpson rotating for one spot. Perhaps look at combined fixtures and work out who you would play each week.

Someone (perhaps you) asked this earlier and I'll say the same I said then:

NO!!!! Lampard 100% to play, pens, some corners and free kicks

Suarez - heartbeat of Liverpool's attack and in the form of his life

Mata - Don't even think he'll start every game and he still has to adapt to the league.

RVP is a great shout but I'd do it at the expense of someone else if possible.

I've got Lamps and Suarez and Zamora and I'm considering bringing RVP and a budget mid in for Zamora and Lamps.

Is it mental to wildcard if you've had a good start? (218 points)

It would be to sort out a few underperforming squad players and to build a bit of value/get some players while they're cheaper etc

So in theory, mental or not?

That is an amazing start, already 60 odd pts ahead of me lol.

imo if you are doing so well then clearly you have players who are bringing in the pts, and players that bring in the pts tend to be brought in by more people hence their prices rise.

if it is just a couple of pieces of deadwood you need to sort out, not worth it imo.

It's probably 4 or 5 Sessegnons and Moseseseses and I'm thinking of maybe dropping Lamps and Baines, who I'm not sure are worth the money.

Also almost all my players are away from home next week.

In definitely talking myself into it.

the fact that 10 of my players are away next GW and 3 of the home players play for Norwich of which Ruddy is banned and one other is Sessegnon swung it for me. WIldcard active.

No harm in it, the way I see it the money you can make (if fpl sort the f*ck out) will mean come the end of the season you will have an extra big gun in there which can make the difference.

Didnt work last year as so many cheap options but there doesnt seem that many decent cheapies this year defence aside

It did work for me, allowed me to have a midfield of Nani, Arteta, VDV and a 12mil mid (Fabregas, bah) by mid-season and later coupled with a strike force of RVP, Tevez, Berbatov. Crucial. (midfield cheapie was Adam, now 9mil lol.)

I obviosuly just failed finding the right players. In the end I was so far behind due to not having the cheapies like Adam that I had to find differentials rather than safe bets. As a result I did shocking

I'm considering wildcarding, but it involves changing Aguero> Dzeko to free up money to do N'Zogbia> Young to get some Utd Coverage which is killing me. Will bring in Rooney for RVP when they play Norwich.

Anyone whos changed Aguero>Dzeko worried it could backfire completely with Aguero going mad and getting the big points next game?

        Change that Silva

        IN 19,000 OUT 11,000

Would this not equal NTI of 8,000 and therefore a long way from raising.... Although is there something about transfers rolling over from previous GW??? Wonder how you can see that?

            Sorry guys you still around?

So for this GW it looks like Nasri has a much higher NTI than Silva. NTI (Net Transfers In) = Transfers In minus Transfers Out.

Silva's NTI was only 8,000 so wouldn't normally be close to a price rise, however if there were NTI transferred from last GW then that would explain why he is listed as close to a rise on TotalFPL.

This does not of course answer which will have a double rise this GW. My money is on Nasri though 😉

'despite the rotation risk'. There you go.

A few weeks ago it was competition with Anelka, Malouda, Kalou, Benayoun.
