As per usual on a Sunday evening, we scour the treatment rooms for any new injuries sustained over the weekend’s matches. United have worries up front ahead of their weekend home clash with West Brom after Wayne Rooney picked up a knee problem during this afternoon’s loss at Everton.

Burnley
Sam Vokes missed the Clarets’ home loss to Leicester due to a thigh problem, Sean Dyche has confirmed:

“We need goals, because we haven’t been scoring enough lately. We had a tricky spell earlier in the season and came through, and we need something similar now. We’re looking for something for Lukas Jutkiewicz. Sam Vokes has a niggling thigh injury, so it’s a chance for Jukes to show what he can do.”

Chelsea
Oscar was replaced at the break in today’s draw at Arsenal following a clash of heads with Gunners keeper David Ospina. The Brazilian was sent to hospital for scans, with Jose Mourinho saying the club’s staff were “scared” over his condition.

Post-match, the Blues boss admitted that Loic Remy won’t be fit in time for the midweek trip to Leicester.

Crystal Palace
The Eagles were without Joel Ward for the weekend home loss to Hull due to a shin problem. Alan Pardew is not yet ruling the defender out of next weekend’s trip to the Bridge:

“Fingers crossed he will be back for Chelsea. I’m sure Chelsea aren’t [crossing theirs]. He’s been great. It’s a shin injury…We missed Wardy’s quality at the back.”

Leicester
Jeffrey Schlupp picked up a knock ahead of the Foxes’ win at Burnley, whilst Nigel Pearson also confirmed David Nugent remains a worry with a calf complaint:

“It’s always about trying to get the best we have available. We picked up one or two knocks, David Nugent and Jeff Schlupp didn’t make it today, but it’s an opportunity for other players to come in.”

Liverpool
Alberto Moreno missed the Reds’ goalless draw at West Brom with a knock, according to local reports.

Man City
Yaya Toure is set to be assessed after being forced off during City’s narrow win over Villa with a hamstring problem, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed:

“Toure had a hamstring problem so he couldn’t play the second half. It is difficult to know today what happened, but it was not a precaution. It was a muscle injury and we will see tomorrow [Sunday] or Monday how bad it is.”

Man United
Wayne Rooney was forced off towards the end of this afternoon’s loss at Everton due to a knee injury, Louis van Gaal has confirmed:

“Yes, Rooney was injured. He had a shot on his knee, so we have to wait and see how heavy (serious) it is.”

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat was forced off due to illness as the Magpies fell to defeat at home to Swansea. John Carver revealed post-match:

“We lost Daryl Janmaat because of sickness, so he should be okay for next week, but he wasn’t feeling too well, so I had to get him off the pitch.”

Southampton
Morgan Schneiderlin limped off towards the end of the Saints’ draw with Spurs due to a knee injury, according to post-match reports.

Stoke
Geoff Cameron was subbed off with four minutes remaining of the Potters’ draw against Sunderland due to a hamstring problem.

Swansea
Wayne Routledge has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury. The Swans confirmed on Saturday afternoon that the winger has already undergone surgery in order to address a long-standing problem.

Jefferson Montero was replaced on 69 minutes after sustaining a thigh problem.

Tottenham
Ben Davies was stretchered off in the weekend draw at Southampton with a shoulder injury. Post-match, Mauricio Pochettino went on to say:

”Ben [Davies] is OK now. He suffered a dislocation of the shoulder but he is much better now. We need to assess him in the next few days. Not a longer [-term] problem.”

West Ham
Winston Reid missed the weekend draw at QPR with a hamstring problem, the Hammers have revealed.

Nathaniel Clyne has been the best RB this season by a country mile. Not in the team, why? because they need to fill it up with blue shirts.

They have played boring football all season. These players get picked by default because they are who they are.

Cahill does not warrant a place, neither does Matic. I'd sooner pick Jose Fonte all day. Southampton's defence has been nothing short of outstanding.

And Alexis should be the POTY too.

It doesn't always have to be the team, who wins the title that has POTY. No disrespect to Hazard, I think he's had a great season. Second best player in the league as it goes.

second. not first. but there it is again... Opinions.

Roman must have paid to have them inducted.

As a Sterling captainer I'm delighted I " got away" with not going with Hazard...so far. At least worst comes to worst haz can only outscore him in one match now so hopefully not too much damage done!

seeing a team walk to the title is so frustrating and antifootball imo.....reminds me of when utd won it last time despite having a terrible defence
all the other teams hardly put up a challenge, drawing or losing silly games they should have won ....looks the same this time around:?

Im not slating the team at the top, just the others for not getting their sh*t together

of course when pool mounted their title bid, with a great attack and sh*t defence, everyone else was in great form so we lost out as soon as we dropped the ball 🙄 .....bad for pool fans like myself but good for football and prem competitiveness in general...

I know what you mean, and partly agree, but...

      1) ManU won with quite respectable 89 points.
      2) Chelsea likely will have even more than that in the end of the season, after having walked through the whole league season.
      3) During Liverpool's amazing run last season it was not simply having strong attack, it was having conversion rates so much above anything sustainable (and shots blocked rates below anything sustainable) that it was implausible that it would continue to the end.

If Chelsea beat Leicester this week what do you think will happen with Hazard....will he be snap rested for the home game to palace GW 35?

I know it's dangerous to predict such things/he's owned by so many it probably won't make a difference anyway, but with my ML's looking so tight with only a few weeks to go I'm looking for any edge I can find!

The Liverpool game comes at a beautiful time. Immediately after the title has been won. No way does Jose want to lose a big game and least of all to Rodgers. Could buy us one more week with the Chelsea players.

He really must be careful. If he does move to Madrid, it may not be plain sailing. The fans there don't want a great player who is still developing. They want absolute perfection, I really can't see why anyone would move there at the moment tbh. Seems like a horrible atmosphere.

Madrid should receive a one year transfer ban anyway. As should just about the whole Liga, with notable exception of Athletic Bilbao.

I think it's much less racism than it is separatism. But yes, that has some awful negative sides. Like _former_ Bilbao players playing for "enemy nations" (usually Spain and France) having their lives threatened.

Me neither, but that's kind of the way that they have to do their business, seen how they have restricted themselves.

Anyway, the reason why all other Spanish clubs should get two window transfer bans, like Barca already did, is that their academies are filled with foreign kids as young as 10-year-old. They're clearly violating the FIFA rules, and while Bartomeu may think the rule goes against the grain of normal behaviour of the clubs, it is really only in Spain that clubs do this excessively, perhaps slightly so in Portugal too, but La Liga clubs are bringing in twice as many overseas (= Asian, African, American, generally non-EU) youth players as the Portuguese top tier, let alone all the others who lag far behind in this, because they, you know, obey the rules.

But this most likely does not apply to Bilbao, who only have basque kids.

            1. Somalion

It is really awful stuff 😕 I mean, especially given so few of these kids have a chance of actually making it in the big leagues, it is uprooting and disrupting so many families just to make sure some kids are nabbed up before they can be scouted at an appropriate age by other teams...

In fact, I think Lamela turned down an offer to move to Barcelona when he was much younger, choosing to stay at River Plate. Though my memory is hazy on that. I would love to see some bans hitting them.

Aye, in general I've been let down. I've no doubt of his ability, I'm not even sure if it is the league not suiting him or England in general not suiting him. Some players are turfed out of a club with a point to prove (Sanchez), others seem to really struggle. I only hope they can turn him around, but he may well leave.

I think his confidence is shot and that's hard to rebuild.

If I had to guess I'd imagine he will leave and sign for PSG.

I think he's a good player don't get me wrong but he was bandied in this category just off the best in the world and tbh personally I never saw him as good as that.

I don't think that's a very good defense for Falcao's case. If United got him and are paying so much every week, they must have expected goals, which haven't come obviously.
