The results for third round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, are in and can be viewed right here. The competition has now reached the final 64, but our contenders are still only a third of the way to the title, for a brief round-up of who has reached the second third of the tournament, read on…

Getting there in style is this week’s top-scorer Ann_der_roo, who thrashed BirdyRob 76 – 52, and in doing so he earned a cool £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

The highest-scoring tie of the round was the 74 – 56 win for hunting4beaver (who was Ann_der_roo’s closest challenger for the weekly prize) over jr.

Another high scorer this week was our very own Granville, who’s impressive run of form sees him storm into the fourth round with a thoroughly convincing 73 – 45 victory over dinglea.

On the flip side to all that bigs scoring was Landsman‘s 40 – 39 win against mogould, which was the lowest points total good enough to progress, the lowest scoring tie of the round and the joint-narrowest points victory.

Also scraping through to the fourth round by a single point was Chris81 (49 – 48 Discogod), mellicott_uk (51 – 50 JoseRealM) and andy85wsm (53 – 52 Milhouse).

Unable to determine a points victor were Jimmers and DaFoe22, who both scored 52. It was DaFoe22’s vastly superior overall ranking which saw him safely through.

The biggest beating of the round was Mighty‘s 73 – 44 annihilation of JohnSteed01. Karma perhaps for eliminating yours truly, and for denying me this weeks top score? Yes, yes it was.

Our last-remaining former champ donnellyc is still in the mix and looking to add to his silverware, after he saw off kings of kafiristan 52 – 34.

Congratulations to our winners, and commiserations to our losers this week. The fourth round fixtures will be made and published in the next couple of days.

    Afternoon all,
Obviously an already hugely boring subject, but...do people think this team is just too weak for the weekend?
    Foster
    El-Mohammedy/Konchesky/Knight/Coleman
    NZogbia/Albrighton/Fabregas/Malouda
    Drogba/Carroll

    Subs: Tevez/Nani/Jara
    £0 in the bank

Got one free, but thinking of keeping it and re-assessing the carnage next week.
Long term i want Adam/VdV/Arteta...but they don’t seem great trades this week.

(already knocked out of the cup sadly!)

cheers Tosey. that's helpful. you going to lose much value on Nani? I can sell him for 8.7m at the moment -so would need him to drop 0.2m for getting him back. think he's be the one i'd sell if any.
I saw Cahill being recommended earlier...you not worried about him being a bit inconsistent? i was thinking maybe Nasri and doubling up on Arsenal (with Fab). what d'ya reckon?

yeh i am but i think with a lot of other players having the likes of tevez vdv etc its a good time to take advantage hopefully

ill sell at 8.5 and buy back at 8.9 (i think) so doing nani to cahill then nasri to nani either before villa away or after

cahill is inconsistent but so is arteta, arteta more likely to pick up a knock imo, plus i plan on keepin him until before gwk17 and everton have arsenal home (he'll cause problems in air) and chelsea away (he has a good record at the bridge i think, seem to remember a last min overhead kick???) so cahill for me

I'm on 280 and can usually never get anything right, I was on fire last season in the Guardian pick the score game, not this year, one week I had the max -130 for getting every score wrong and the banker bonus score wrong (-30), really am not enjoying it!

Our 10 man league of FFS posters ranges from 540 at the top to 215 at the bottom. You'd be about middling with 380 Atilla.

For info - I have Lawro pegged at about 485 so far (with me completing his banker/insurance picks based on his chatter)- he'd be 3rd in our league.

have you heard any news on Tevez - is he going to back this weekend? or is another case of the 'deifnately rested for the Manchester derby'?

there's another one. plus samba scored a goal which should have been disallowed due to douf holding the keeper, he then gets a red card. jara scored a bit of a stinker against almunia and he gets a red too. torres gets a didgy assist agaiant sunderland, then goes off injured 10 minutes into the next game. drogba scores a couple of deflections then misses a game with a virus.

    Afternoon Guys,

With Bosingwa being confirmed out for tonight's game in the CL what do you guys think of his chances of playing vs Liverpool?!

I think it increases the likelihood as surely either Alex or Ivan would be due a rest?!

With all the injuries atm it would good even if I could squeeze just one more start out of Bos before I ship him!

    Thanks,

    J

my thoughts on bosingwa (and i still bought him with this in mind) is that he will play in the easier home fixtures and ivanovic in most away games or tough home fixtures. i dont expect him to play sunday but do expect him to play the 2 home matches after

I don't think it's worth thinking about anything until Friday now, we've got Wednesday CL (and even 'Pool/City in UEL on Thursday) and lots of unanswered questions.

For me, it's a moratorium on all of those kind of thoughts until Friday evening after all the real formative news is in, and press conferences are done.

Next two days I'll just be refining my own personal watchlist.

I think that Arteta is playing deep nowadays and they need to win in order for him to hoover the BP, but Cahill is playing behind the striker and is in form. The only thing that frightens me is the possibility of red card for Cahill. He always get some reds during the season.

Old thread I posted it in!...

Been toying with getting Arteta into my team for the last while, but the only player I could bring in for was Nani (not willing to get rid of Torres just yet;))Dya reckon it would be a wise move considering his decent fixtures coming up??

    Cheers

Wow, I'm still on minus 30 points in total on the 'I-Don't-Know-The-Score' game.

    I'm ranked 198,852 out of 200,562, in the bottom 1%. 🙁

I read somewhere he should be okay, more precautionary than anything else.
