Our latest ScoutCast episode is dedicated to the memory of long-time community member Simon Humber, aka “Absinthe”, who sadly passed away last week.

Granville, Jonty and myself pay our respects by going about our business – just as Absinthe would have wanted.

We overcome Granville’s late arrival to analyse Gameweek 36, while deflecting the latest bout of community posers that have us assess the likelihood of Chelsea rotation, run the rule over Arsenal assets and lament the demise of Sir Leighton Baines. We also take time out to reflect on our season’s biggest errors, while Granville is given the unenviable task of selecting the best Fantasy manager from Jonty and myself – like a sultry temptress choosing between a pair of doting admirers.

This episode was aired on Tuesday evening via the magic of Google Hangouts. You can witness Granville’s unceremonious crash landing in all its glory via the full fat YouTube version below. Alternatively, if you prefer your ScoutCast more refined, you’ll require the edited audio mp3 via this link or the first player below.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for alerts on new episodes and to get involved in the Hangout live discussion next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Looking at doing the following in a tight, but shite ML.

    Kane to lukaku
    Hazard to albrighton

    Still somehow have Remy.
Idiocy or acceptable risk with the league now officially Chelsea's?

      Got tekkers currently.
Thinking Remy will likely play instead of Drog based on mourinho and his history after tying the league.

In fairness you guys are right, but just explaining thought process, not defending it!

It's Friday, it's a slow news day so here's my lot for this week:

    Schmeichel
    Terry, Smalling, PvA
    Haz, Fab, Sanchez, Hendo

    Panti, Cambi, Skrtel, Duff

    1FT + 0.4m ITB

      Nice Sporting.

How about either Skrtel or Smalling > Bellerin / Koscielny (i've no idea how much Smalling costs).

Iv'e also bench Squirtle and it feels weird having that much cash for a defender sitting on the bench, but they are playing Chelsea!

Exclusive: Jose Mourinho's decision to grant his players extra time off after clinching the title could have major implications on top four race

Jose Mourinho has taken the unusual step of allowing his Chelsea players up to four days off this week, prompting raised eyebrows at Manchester United over the new Premier League champions’ preparations for Liverpool on Sunday.

After clinching the title with their 1-0 win against Crystal Palace last Sunday, Mourinho gave his players Monday and Tuesday as what would be their expected days off but also rewarded them with the option of taking off both Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday will be the first day that the squad has been required to report for training all week, leaving Mourinho only two definite full days to prepare with his players for the visit on Sunday of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool.

Eden Hazard certainly appears to have been among those to take up the chance for some added relaxation and posted a photograph on his Instagram account on Wednesday of him looking out over a swimming pool and beach.

Sunday's fixture is hugely important in what now looks like a straight battle between Liverpool and Manchester United for the fourth and final Champions League place. Qualifying for the Champions League is typically worth around £30 million and will also be crucial in attracting potential signings over the next year.

Liverpool have closed the gap to Manchester United to only four points ahead of the final three matches of the season following a sequence of three straight defeats for Louis van Gaal’s team. United also still face a potentially hazardous run-in with away matches looming against Crystal Palace on Saturday and then Hull City on the final day of the season either side of hosting Arsenal.

Chelsea have been dominant against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge under Mourinho but, with the title already secure, United fans will be concerned that his team might not be as meticulously prepared as usual. The performance and team selection will certainly now come under added scrutiny.

Emre Can squares up to Diego Costa - Diego Costa stamp happy as Chelsea see off Liverpool in Capital One Cup: in pictures
Chelsea have an excellent home record against Liverpool under Mourinho

Mourinho is sure to completely refute any suggestion that he would allow his players, even subconsciously, not to be fully motivated and prepared for any game. He simply believed that the players had deserved the chance of some extra time off after a pressurised season that has ended with a first Premier League title in five years as well as the Capital One Cup.

Mourinho is expected also to argue that, by giving the players a brief space to celebrate and unwind, his decision will actually help ensure that they are fully focused for the final three games.

Mourinho himself has been back working at the club’s Cobham training base since Wednesday in preparation for the Liverpool game. Chelsea also still have to play West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland.

West Brom are virtually safe but Sunderland remain embroiled in the relegation battle. Mourinho knows that his decisions over these next three weeks will be closely monitored by other clubs but Diego Costa is not expected to be rushed back from injury.

Statistically possible for Southampton to come home with a wet sail? Or Spurs?

Would love to see both Pool and united cock it up properly and get pipped by either of the above.

    Which option?

    A) Giroud, Sanchez, Bellerin/Monreal

    B) Sanchez, Ramsey/Özil, Bellerin/Monreal

    C) Sanchez, Ramsey, Özil (loose one of Silva/Hazard)

Think this is my 5th post of the season:

Tricky gameweek ahead - any ideas welcome (got 1FT):

    Myhill
    Clyne / Ivan / PVA / turtle / duff
    Hazard / hendo / Sanchez / Ramsey / cork
    Agueroooo / Kane / giroud

Thinking sell turtle or Clyne for:

Morgan / kolorov / someone else (can't afford terry - got 0.9 itb)

Trying to finish in the top 500 so any tips welcome.

Also - great to see Doosra back

    Good morning fantasy world,

    Best option?

    a) Fab => Ozil now (might get out priced for Benteke gw38)

    b) Fab => Cazorla now (can get Benteke for free gw38)

    c) play Fab this gw and check situation again next week, Ramsey in if fit

    1. McNulty
      • 15 Years

Get Ozil as its likely Benteke wont play GW38 anyway (as an owner) and Ozil seems like the better option

I'm just not sure if that rest factor works for Benteke gw38.
Is it really better to prepare for final NOT playing competetive match in two weeks than playing one match/week...might not play 90 mins tough.

      I've got a similar dilemma,

      Sterling > Cazorla already done.

Now do I leave it at that or do:
Hazard > Sanchez or Fabregas >Silva?

Would love a hand. Not sure what to do this week.

    Schmeichel (Panti)
Ivan | Terry | Koscielny (Skrtel) (PvA)
Haz | Sterling | Silva | Hendo (Cambiasso)
    Kun | Kane | Vardy

    2Fts, 1 mil itb.

My original plan for this week was Ivan -> cheapie, Vardy -> Giroud. However, the unfortunate rise of Sanchez, which I had counted on being able to ignore, is making me rethink.

    A) Skrtel + Sterling -> Duff + Sanchez (would leave me w/out a way to Giroud the following week bar a hit)
    B) Ivan + Sterling + Kane -> 3.8 + Sanchez + Benteke (-4)
    C) Skrtel + Kane -> Duff + Giroud (nothing really itb)
    D) Ivan + Vardy -> Duff + Giroud (enough itb next week to buy any arsenal mid bar Sanchez)

There are countless other options I'm considering, but I'm struggling significantly to decide. Thoughts much appreciated.

Btw - when I say "rise of Sanchez", I refer to his rise in form, not price.

Also, if it's easier, which do you think is more important this week, Sanchez or Giroud?
