The Scoreboard presents the Fantasy Premier League information you need from the day’s matches all on one screen, including the current top five BPS (Bonus Point System) standings from each match (potential Bonus Point earners are in bold). Actual Bonus Points will be shown when added – all points are provisional until then.

Gameweek 36

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        The ICT Index

        What is the ICT Index?
Basically, this is a football index created specifically to assess a player in Fantasy terms. It uses the statistical data already available to Members to create a single score for three key areas – Influence, Creativity and Threat. These scores then combine to create a single ICT Scout Index score.

In a nutshell, the ICT index helps to make our statistics easier to digest. The individual index scores help to measure a player’s importance to their team and to a match (Influence), a player’s likelihood to earn assists (Creativity) and to score goals, or at least get in goalscoring situations (Threat). Index scores are generated on a Gameweek basis and cumulatively over the season for all players.

        How do I use it?
In addition to the Top 10 standings on the Members dashboard, the full index is available within the Fantasy Index tab for Player Stats. You can view the index by position or for all players.
By default this offers a cumulative view of the Index totals – however, Members can also slice the data by a given Gameweek or a range of Gameweeks and view average Index scores per appearance using the Advanced Filtering Options.

How do I see how a player has performed from Gameweek to Gameweek?
Click on any player name in a statistics table to view their player profile page. In the bottom right of this page you will see a Gameweek Breakdown table. This displays a player’s ICT Index scores, broken down by Influence, Creativity and Threat, listed by Gameweek. Using this you can identify how a player has performed week-to-week and spot trends.

I always arrange my tables by ICT threat. It'd be interesting if somebody ran a season long game just using the ICT tables as a basis for picks...all picks...

I see threat while deciding Strikers and Creativity while deciding Midfielders,...but it kinda is usless...tells us a player had a good performance past week when we already know that

Sunderland are shite and Arsenal are miles better. They managed to score two of the luckiest goals against Everton starting a striker who scored his first goal for the club and didn't even know it had hit him. They will hope to do what Swansea did last night but fail.

Arsenal will win that gave comfortably without conceding.

Yeah Martinez has really struggled this season, I was never keen on his appointment and I think he's been found out a bit. Players seemingly going backwards (Barkley, Lukaku), an ageing squad that's not been replaced properly, and for some unknown reason persisting with Gareth Barry over Besic, who has been excellent when he's played.

Hopefully we can turn it around next year - you Hammers will feel the pain of a season petering out into mediocrity.

It depends on you, I think both United and Sunderland game would be tough for Arsenal...In the Sunderland game they might just play Arteta, Welbeck, Wally and give rest to some main guys so that they are in right mind for the FA Cup Final as well, They have qualified for CL, their focus would be now on FA Cup

Start Phillips at home to Newcastle or Henderson at home to Palace.

Phillips pros - Newcastle are abject, pressure now off QPR, Phillips is very attacking
    cons - QPR are crap.

Henderson pros - Palace leaky, guaranteed to get the full 90
cons - Gerrard's will play 90 mins and take most set pieces, they have no strikers to assist

    Who would you go for?

Gerrard will likely only play 85 mins or so (to be pedantic) so he goes off to a standing ovation etc. Not that that really makes any difference.

      I'd go for Hendo.

I honestly think the introduction of goal line technology is fantastic.

Can you imagine the chaos if the goal didnt stand? Each Arsenal mid would have wrongly received an extra point and each Ars def an extra 4 for the CS. Bonus predictions using the BPS before the goal -

    Merte and Kosc 3
    Bellerin 1

This is a significant swing in points which could easily determine the outcome of many MLs.

Goal line technology is a matter of fact....either ball has or hasn't crossed the line. The introduction for a lot of other decisions would be opinion based. So for example a sending off for a border line decision. The danger is that you simply move a dodgy decision by the ref on the pitch to a dodgy decision by a man in the stands.

It's worth considering that even when pundits review decisions with the benefit of TV coverage after a game that they very often still can't agree on what the decision should have been. The same would apply for the man in the stand...

        1. Billy Gilmore
          • 13 Years
          10 years, 7 months ago

That is certainly a good point, but like the DRS in cricket, it it could remove the absolute howlers of decisions.

Managers would certainly have a good whinge about it...

It's tricky. I'm not against technology at all, but it obviously works best for black and white decisions....

            10 years, 7 months ago

This is one of the most important points and one which often gets lost in the argument. Technology isn't meant to ensure that all decisions are correct. It's meant to reduce the number of terrible decisions.

            1. Dr Dream
              • 13 Years
              10 years, 7 months ago

Yes...agreed. Sadly many put the point forward whilst border line decisions are being debated...(was it hand to ball or ball to hand, was it a stamp or not a stamp). They forget that whilst they want technology to settle the debatable decision that the man in the stand will only have access to a monitor in the same way the folk who can't agree do. He won't be some sort of super human ref but just another person with an opinion on a border line decision.

Which is not the same as settling terribly wrong decisions.

              1. Donkey_Sanctuary

                10 years, 7 months ago

Yeah, if you have 5 pundits reviewing a decision and there is a 3-2 split the man in the stands could fall on either side. However, if there is a 5-0 split then surely the man in the stands will give the correct decision.

He's not certain. Mourinho has said he intends to play some younger fringe players this week. He also said that some top players have already played too much football (including Hazard). That's enough to put him firmly in the risky pick pile.

I actually did really well to get 75 in GW 8 - Costa didn't play, no Aguero, no Southampton except Bertrand, and a -2 from PVA. Baines and Sanchez really saved my week.

I'm not sure how I managed it, also had Ulloa with 1 point. A few steady scores (Fabregas 8, ADM 5, Sterling 7) built up and were helped by Sanchez's 13, Baines' 15 and Welbeck (C)'s 14.

Certainly wasn't the season defining week for me that it was for many on here.

I missed his GW8 rampage (as in; didn't have him at all!) and then Costa, who was my Captain, got injured. I remember thinking 'well, that's that for another season then...'

Cue Pelle (VC) and Tadic's one-night-only points frenzy leaving me on 104 points for the week. That GW was just surreal.

Following on from the GW8 chat above, what was everyone's season defining week? GW8 and 31 will be popular, but mine was GW10 - a 93 propelled me to 281 OR, with 32 points from Sanchez (C), and 10s from Foster and Hazard.

In another way, I could also point to GW22. I was doing well at 3.7k, and was happy with my team, but had to play my January WC. My WC team mustered a measly 45 points (pre-WC team got around 65), and I got 7 reds out of 8, plummeting to 14k before I managed to rectify it.

    How about everyone else?

When Ausin scored hattrick and i cpt him, dont remeber what gameweek it was.

The Austin week was my worst week in terms of how I felt - I took the armband off Austin on Saturday morning, having had it on him all week, and put it on Eriksen for a 2 pointer. I remember I was at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, and was checking the BBC updates. All of those goals going in did not put me in a festive mood.

      - GW8 for sure. I almost lost interest in FPL, none of the moves were working. My captain didnt scored a single goal till GW7 with Adebayor's 5pts being the highest. Went from 1.3m to 300k.
      - Then GW17 when team scored 82pts and I went from 82k to 37k.
      - After going down to 80k again, took a 12pts hits in GW27 which worked scoring 86pts and jumped to 36k

GW 8, 11 and 14 all were good weeks for me - each time captaining Aguero. Haven't been out of the top 5k since GW 11.

          Cheers!

There wasn't much in it tbh but Larsson's set pieces swayed me in the end.

Yeah, was a close call...I went the other way. Hopefully Larsson gets fouled for Gomez's pen 😀

I am tripling up with Sunderland players to try to win my ML. Already have Wickham and Panti. Should I get Gomez or Larsson? Reason please.

I'm actually considering that. If I want Giroud, then ivanovic downgraded to a third sunderland defensive player would be one way to upgrade Vardy.

A bit crazy though since their opponents are one of the most attacking teams in the league.... and arsenal too!

Pants and PVA are shoe ins for me. My issue with SUN mids and fwds is that SUN never score enough to warrant any investment.

A lottery. May as well get an extra SUN defender.

I yayed last week, then realised he was on my bench!

But yeah, better stats than Larsson, so that's why I chose him

Since you haven't linked your team, I don't know what your midfield looks like.

Pants + PvA more than enough Sunderland for me.

Agreed. I would rather have Leicester Sun away QPR home than Sun Lei home Arsenal away Chelsea Away. Never mind the extra game.

Any Arsenal fans think Bellerin will play both games next week?

Yeah, possible with a rest in 38 for the FA Cup?

If there are utter failures for Sunderland, anyone considered the damage, especially GW38 vs Chelski?

Hence, why the best SUN investment is triple SUN dee-fence.

Last game of the season, I wouldn't be as worried about a lesser team playing a better one, than at any other stage of the season.

Could be a problem when benchers will be needed due to rotation.
