The transfer of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal this week has many a Fantasy manager eyeing up the new Gunners midfielder. Priced at just 8.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Arteta looks, potentially, a real value for money option this season, bringing a much-needed maturity to the Arsenal playmaker role in light of Cesc Fabregas’ departure to Barcelona.

      don't burn your wild card yet - pull your hair out instead! look at shifting olsson as WBA has a crap defensive record last time out and look set for a repeat performance this season - simpson looks like he is bench fodder after the buy ins from the transfer window.

    Good News: WC still in my pocket

    Bad News: 1st 4 point hit of the season, was it a sound move?

    Given (Vorm)

    Baines, Bosingwa, De Laet

    Young, Silva, Arteta, Nzogbia

    Suarez, Dzeko, Odemwingie

    (Simpson, Brown, Surman)

    after dumping torres for dzeko almost immediately, i had 3 mil in the bank and victor moses who had 3 great fixtures and did little in fantasy terms. Felt it worth getting rid and maybe in a few weeks time bring moses back for surman (i still believe in moses)
    So moses->arteta seemed a good gamble.

      Arteta is interesting. Might pay off already next game.

      The very reason I got Moses was to have a 5.0 starter in my team that I won't sell if is off form. As long as he is still starting for Wigan he's in my team. I might sell him when I wc but won't waste a transfer on him.

        i didnt want to have to sell him. He seems the best 5.0 or less option in the FPL, maybe best 5.5 or less. I just felt i couldnt afford to have him and a 4.5 cheap mid this week.

        I could have started moses at city or simpson at QPR or brown home to Chelsea.

        now i have arteta home to swansea instead. Even if he is Fabregas-Lite, and i mean much lighter, hes still going to play in that role on that team for 4 mil less than fabs ever was. I think arteta will have something to prove as well. Just worried about what share if any of set pieces he might have.

      I don't like Ferguson. I know he is in many teams but it means you always have to play Moses and Cabaye.

      RTaylor and Senderson are also not nailed on anymore after deadline day.

    Ref was terrible in Scotland game. Czech player dived and they get the pen, 2-2 with 1min left. Ball goes up other end, Berra fouled in box. Pen, surely? Ref books him for diving. Just shocking refereeing.

    Draw looked fair result though but neither team look like qualifying behind Spain (even though there is the playoffs).

      That's a tough one.

      1) I think Sinclair has been unlucky not to have scored better so far but I have Dyer and think he has great value at 4.5. Barkley could be good but might suffer rotation.

      2) Also a little unlucky and with Gyan getting injured maybe he and Bendtner can click. Gyan wasted a lot of good chances that Sess made for him, if Bendtner sticks them away then who knows.

      3) N'zog has been very unimpressive thus far but should start finding his feet more and more with every game and has shown previously that he can score heavily in FPL terms. Jarvis has done well and Wolves look pretty good atm. So for me, it's no. 3.

              Fair enough, didn't know his record was as good as that. However, it's yet to be seen whether he can replicate that in the Prem. I like the idea of Mert getting on the corners taken by Arteta and Van Persie, although to be honest, I'm sticking clear of Arsenal's defence until they prove to be more reliable

          depends where he's playing though. a big chunk of his goals last season came playing up front. same as last week, he was playing up front. when zamora is fit and with ruiz there too it's much more likely he'll be on the left where he still scores the odd goal but he wont score 12

              had a peak at the stats.
              3 games gone this season, first 2 dempsey played in midfield and had a total of 2 shots. last game he played up front and had 6 shots.

        Henderson, surely. Shift Adam to the left and use Downing on the right. Maybe play a bit more central on the left flank with Adam a bit closer to Gerrard and Enrique bombing on as a wing back and providing the width on that side.

      Best 4.5 could be Santon if he plays as well as his youtube clips show him playing. My second pick would be Ward, Wolves are playing well defensivly and he moves up the pitch when he has the chance.

      Best 4.0 IMO is De Laet, he wont keep many CS but he is good for BPs and has some attacking potential.

      front three will be competitiveness for next game wk, but mid players look mixed - taartabt? Shaun wrightie - phillips surely. Brunt and dyer haven't done a thing so far. I would get a bigger player - walcott/arteta/cahill/adam .... if you have the money or spare credit card handy;go for mata or gamble on the return of Stevie G!
