By his own admission, Cesc Fabregas had the “worst first half” against West Ham on Saturday. Certainly, when a home win for Arsenal passes by without Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points for the skipper, you know that something is wrong.

A paltry 3 point Gameweek return for Fabregas left those who had played wildcards or spent points on recruiting him, feeling rather hollow; particularly given that the he was awarded the FPL captaincy by the majority of his owners. Those who resisted the Fabregas pull meanwhile, can feel somewhat smug by his return given that he later revealed that his hamstring remains a concern.

So just how badly did Fabregas perform in relation to his peers and his own high standards?

Very soon our Members will be able to analyse weekly Opta data so that player performance can be measured on a Gameweek basis; we’re testing that functionality right now. That form of analysis immediately comes into play when examining the potential of Fabregas in the light of the West Ham showing…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I was quite ashamed of it too, was meant to be a reply. Mind you, if they could play 12 players...

Looking at it from a FF point of view It looks good, no rotation risk.

I need to think... Depends on how long Nani is out for. Walcott, Arteta, Cahill and VDV are all very tempting right now.

I did think that was a mildly retarded transfer at the time, but for some reason I didn't think to mention it... 😉

I don't see nani as being out for too long, I reckon the injury is just fatigue more than anything....

I'd take arteta over cahill though- more of a banker option

Walcott looks VERY tempting if arsenal start to click through the gears, re. my point about him maybe being transformed into a striker....

BTW did you hear about the racism at the Chelsea match?

I really need your advice on my options for next GW

    Should I

Sell either Malouda or Nani (no hit)

    Or

Sell O’Shea and Malouda or Nani (4pt hit)

Which option is best and which MF should I sell

If you want to change a midfielder then I'd keep Malouda and sell Nani. Malouda should be fit this week and then has two nice homes games to come..Nani is out this week and then has two tough away games (even if fit).

I'd hang on to O'Shea for one more week. If he doesn't start v Wolves, then get rid

I can understand the appeal of Bosingwa, and I'm not talking fantasy football here, but I've never been totally convinced by him. I think that, because he's been out for so long*, people seem to overhype him because they can only remember the impressive things that he did. And even in his first season at Chelsea, where he played pretty much every game, he 'only' scored 2 and assisted 4 goals, in a side that was heavily reliant on width from the full backs for the first half of the season, under Scolari.

People seem to forget that he really isn't much of a defender, in fact I'd say he's pretty poor defensively, and with Cole spending the majority of the time in the opposition half, I'd rather have a more defensive minded player in the right to cope with any potential counter attacks.

It was quite telling listening to Carlo's interview after the Blackburn game, saying that he was about to bring Ivanovic off around the time he scored, and he said that he was about to bring Paulo (Ferreira) on. Now either Bosingwa wasn't fully fit, a possibility considering he missed tonight, or Carlo doesn't seem to fancy him defensively, to the extent that he wasn't willing to bring him on when drawing vs Blackburn with 5 minutes to go.

*See Owen Hargreaves for further details on players overhyped because of spending so long on the injury table. 😉

I'm quite happy for Bos to only play the home games to be honest. It's why I got him. If after GW12 and 13 that's not looking the case, then I'll reconsider. But a worthy gamble.

Fair enough. I can easily imagine him starting both of those games to be honest...

The thing with my team is that I need one defender to play every week, with the other obviously rotating. Alex is that man, Bosingwa wouldn't cut it with inevitable rotation.

Dont believe anything the Daily Mail or 99% of papers say.
They dont know Brad Pitt! about football team selections.

Only Bruce knows and he wont be revealing anything .

Mummy should have more chance of playing should Sunderland switch to 4 4 2 as Welback cant defend.

              More goin for Cahill.

My watchlists currently consists of Walcott, Bale, VDV & Lampard, Malouda again 🙂

Also trying to decide who I will replace Coleman with. Either safe or a punt.

saying it the last few weeks, BOS buyers were were partaking in grand self deception- akin to persuading yourself that you're probably alright driving on 6 beers, or telling your mates you can't triple stamp a double stamp, you can't triple stamp a double stamp, la la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, with fingers in ears. So he has attacking prowess, and a past of offensive points. So WHAT. New system, new manager, and rotation. Deal with it. Buying him is like marrying the sister of the bird you fancy, just so you can have a refreshed wankbank every couple of weeks. You all wanted Cole, but were too tight to get him.

He was ALWAYS gonna be rotated, Ivan played great last season, was never gonna be just told to fook off, Bos was and is now more injury prone, carlo has more options at right back that anywhere on the back line.

Procrasination caused people not to buy Cole, he's still however worth whatever he's at now. If youc an't get Cole, get Terry. But all the speculation, worrry, annoyance about Bos is just fooking daft and annoying. If you bought him, you're a mug, simple as. Learn from it, and dont DO SIMILAR SHIT AGAIN.

I stick by my comments that I thought it should have been a red. If Ibanez doesn't take DJ out, then he has a clear shot at goal - which he'll obvs miss but that's beside the point. Jara isn't close, and isn't going to be to do anything other than taking DJ out himself..

I'd have bet good money on the FA not overturning the decision, and decided to back the young ref - who I didn't think did a bad job on Monday. Just as well I didn't though!
