By his own admission, Cesc Fabregas had the “worst first half” against West Ham on Saturday. Certainly, when a home win for Arsenal passes by without Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points for the skipper, you know that something is wrong.

A paltry 3 point Gameweek return for Fabregas left those who had played wildcards or spent points on recruiting him, feeling rather hollow; particularly given that the he was awarded the FPL captaincy by the majority of his owners. Those who resisted the Fabregas pull meanwhile, can feel somewhat smug by his return given that he later revealed that his hamstring remains a concern.

So just how badly did Fabregas perform in relation to his peers and his own high standards?

Very soon our Members will be able to analyse weekly Opta data so that player performance can be measured on a Gameweek basis; we’re testing that functionality right now. That form of analysis immediately comes into play when examining the potential of Fabregas in the light of the West Ham showing…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If they need goals sure. Most teams take out a midfielder when they put a striker in. Coleman will be the first to be subbed, good thing is that he probably will be after 60 min.

DM really hasn't made any indication that he'll be converting to a 4-4-2. Regardless, Coleman should only be viewed as a short term option anyway. He won't start when Osman regains his fitness.

Only just heard about this, although I remember watching the highlights and thinking it was weird when the Copenhagen player stopped when clean through. Utterly disgraceful behaviour, and typical of Barca in general. They should be chucked out of the competition.

Messi has afterwards conducted himself honourably in my opinion though. He has matured well and compared to other heavily targeted players he does not do much play acting. I like Iniesta too and Villa. The rest? Cheating hypocrites.

I don't like it, Fulham are up against a lot of stingy defences in the next 5/6 weeks. And Cole's a beast but, and this may be the Torres fan in me speaking, I think Liverpool will score against Chelsea - although Cole/Zhirkov/Malouda up against Maxi and Carra could be carnage. I wouldn't get him in for a hit this week

It depends on the rest of your team. I think some people will struggle to field 11 players this week.

If that's you, then it's worth taking the hit I guess, but I wouldn't take a hit to bring Cashley in this week. Not sure I would for Vidic either, but he'd be preferable to Cashley.

This protection rule is p* me off. Why isnt VdV at least in yellow (recurrence of hamstring) while Nani is red?
Man U did not rule out him officially, only one crappy paper claimed SAF ruled him out (while I heard the interview and he merely said a few guys need to be assessed).

    Time for a sensible post!!
Right, so all these injuries are worrying us, and so they should but lets not get carried away.
Surely we all haver a bench, of varying abilities, but this is what its for.

My first point is... All the "big" teams played in the CL this week, so as a rule should struggle a little at the weekend. this should mean no Huge scores and therefore minimise any losses, or worries that you could "miss out" on a big player that you think to bring in.

Secondly...I would happily take 6 points from each player every week, giving me an average of 66, enough to win the league. So by taking a points hit for somebody, you lose 4 points and could have played your sub, who should get you 2 points average, so thats 6 points gained in theory, so is it worth it really? Especially in a week, when the high score probably wont be that high.

Thirdly....Most people will take hits i reckon, then get stung by mid-week rotation, whereas if you have 1 free or even two if you are lucky, you can make last minute adjustments according to the late deadline on Tuesday.

Lastly SELL NANI!!! No game this weekend (probably) then City away then Villa away within 62 hours!

But I'm allowed to tell him off seeing that am almsot 100 points better off than him and has atleast played it better than him this season. Plus the whole debate was that bosingwa was/is a lost cause which he refused to believe, and I'm sure most ppl on here would agree with me on that.

Sorry but I was on here last week telling everyone Tevez will only miss one game against Wolves and would be back for WBA and that the earth wasn't falling off its axis.

Most went with Chicharito / Chamakh instead, and that didn't work out - but I guess I wouldn't be so smug had the little Pea or the big Moroccan each scored last weekend...

I agree but you have to let the panic around carry on and keep your head whilst others lose theirs. I wanted Chamakh for 2 weeks only anyway as I have someone else slowly coming into form under the radar for the next GW transfer.
Tevez is a keeper for the foreseeable future for sure, a game or two out is nothing in the grand scheme of things in FPL.

As a United fan I expect you to say that Db - I'm a fan of the former club syndrome and expect him to be fired up for that game and get a goal. Then Bir,Stoke,Ful,Bol WHU which isn't too shabby. I see great value all round not to waste the transfer out.

No its not that. Its just there are doubts over his ability to perform this week and United are starting to defend very well.

These are the 2 games I wouldnt want Tevez for.

Plus I may take a sneaky punt on Wham player.

Who else is letting this week lie and stacking 2 transfers? Think I'll not look on here again until then and stick to my bench... far too much speculation. I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it 🙂 The only time I get tempted is when I come on here (and being slightly tipsy never helps).

Try getting hammared instead of tipsy and maybe you wont fire up your laptop/pc!! Wait til Fri for before making transfers.

          Pff your copying my blueprint.

I posted a beautiful long post about Jagielka here 2 weeks ago. 😉

Money prevented me purchasing him. Still may get him

Wrong. As I said the whole time, this "injury" reeked of homesickness / needing a trip to Argentina.

The media hates MAN CITY (because they have money- just like the media hated Chelsea in 2006-2007, etc.) so of course there aren't positive Tevez stories....

Again, I thought (as did perhaps a few others too) that Tevez would surely be back for WBA.

tevez could play against west brom. actually more tempted by david silva now. never have i looked for so many 2 game punts ever. looking at david sunn for gw11 and gw12, and lamps gw12 and 13. this is a mad (but strangely interesting) week with so many big guns out or doubtful

If Van Der Vaart isn't dans lineups come Tuesday evening I could see a "nice" Vdv/Torres to Lampard/[not thought ahead] switcheroo on my plate.

So much time between now and then, though.

I scored 71 this week, with Ronaldo captain (and having spent 2 points on a player only to leave them on my bench), but I've started way behind in the ranks and had a hissy fit of not wanting the "distraction" of CL right now just the other day.

Good week, average season. Last year was my time.

A punt on Piq looks a nice move with that combo.
