It’s back. This morning, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game opened its doors for registration ahead of the 2015/16 season, allowing Fantasy managers plenty of time to tinker before the action finally gets underway.

A quick look at the Price List shows only seven players will set you back at least 10.0 – three midfielders and four forwards, with Sergio Aguero the costliest option at 13.0.

Elsewhere, Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been handed a bumper price rise on the back of 21 goals and five assists last season – at 9.5 this time around, he’s no longer budget friendly. Premier League new boys Memphis Depay and Roberto Firmino will both set you back 8.5 – as expected, the duo are listed as midfielders.

The big news, however, concerns a number of new rules to the game. Fantasy managers are handed three chips which they can only play once in a season. This comprises the following:

Bench Boost – Fantasy managers will receive all points from their 15-man squad in a chosen Gameweek.

Triple Captain – allows us to collect three times our selected captain’s score in a specified Gameweek.

All-Out Attack – this allows you to field a 2-5-3 formation in a chosen Gameweek.

It’s worth noting that we cannot use any of these chips in the same Gameweek as a Wildcard. In addition, Fantasy managers can only use one chip in a chosen round of fixtures.

On the subject of Wildcards, there’s been a significant change. Fantasy managers are now handed one wildcard for each half of the season – if you don’t use your first one before Gameweek 20, you lose it. Subsequently, there is no longer a set period for a winter Wildcard.

We now have 30 days to fine-tune our 15-man squads until United and Spurs go head-to-head in the early lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, August 8 at 12.45pm.

As always, we’ll be rolling out a series of Player Price List articles over the upcoming days, breaking them down by position.

For now, though, this is just a heads-up. Enjoy.

Now that the wildcards have been split so there's one in each half of the season, I see no reason to plan past GW4. You can't save it for a DGW - the second WC is for that. Unless you want to use it for an emergency of injuries and suspensions, or want to wait for players to settle, the ideal time to WC is probably the first international break - after GW4.

Transfer window will be closed, we'll know the line ups, Aguero and Sanchez will be back, West Brom defence's fixtures go from poor to excellent, you will be able to build TV and jump on the early bandwagons, and you can basically set yourself up for the season.

This was going to be the season I saved my wildcard as I always use it by GW4 but it seems as though this is going to continue

Second international break could also be a good bet - after GW8. Aguero and Sanchez are what swings it for me though - major surgery will be needed to fit them in.

Kept Butland at 4.5 but priced Stoke's other keeper at 4.5 on the back of Begovic probably leaving

Every season the premium goalkeepers fail to live upto their price tags.. especially when a 4.5er outpaces them @6+ .. maybe it's a good thing they underpriced Courtois/Cech..
However, what makes it a bit tricky is that you'd want 2 attackers minimum from those teams most weeks. So that means sacrificing the goal and bap threat of Koscielny/Ivan to save a few pennies.
It's actually a very tricky situation and not as clear cut as i first thought
