After stepping in as a caretaker manager following the sacking of Michael Laudrup, Garry Monk eventually guided Swansea to a 12th place finish in the 2013/14 season, and was handed the job on a permanent basis ahead of the 2014/15 campaign. The former captain went about rebuilding his squad, with Lukasz Fabianski, Federico Fernandez, Jefferson Montero, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis amongst the notable arrivals. Many of the Spanish contingent at the Liberty departed, though, with Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez and Michu (on loan) all leaving the club, while Michel Vorm and Ben Davies joined Tottenham.

In this members article, we take a detailed look at Monk’s first full season in charge, analysing the chief goal threats and creators as the Swans recorded a record points total (56) and highest Premier League finish of eighth under the rookie manager.

Evening all, what price would Brady & caulker have to be to tempt you?

      4.5 & 5

      Brady 3.0m. Caulker 5.0m

I am pra-ha-ha-haying Brady comes in at 4.5, but the odds of that are next to nil. I might consider him at 5.0, but anything above that - pass. Caulker at 5.0 will be too much for my money.

Agreed on both - if Caulker comes in @4.5 then he's a decent option - Brady@4.5 would be mustard

Eh, screw it, I'm done apologizing for this being my 15609765th RMT since I actually do give back to the community now, much unlike my free mooching days:

    Panti | Ruddy
    Azpi | Kosc | Huth | Williams | Saylor
    Haz | Wally | Memphis | Yaya | Anya
    Rooney | Tek | Sakho

    1. Davido989
      • 15 Years

I'd downgrade Sakho and upgrade Saylor - non playing 4m defenders smell of an early WC.

Better picks than Yaya imo - Ramsey Ozil Mata Cazorla

Rest looks ok. Not a massive fan.

Ding-ding-ding, I do plan on WCing rather early (well, I never PLAN on it as such, it just ends up being that way). I'm OK going 3-4-3 on most GWs. Yaya is on PKs and I don't want to double up on ARS or MUN, but I'm not 100% on him.

I think that's the strike force to start with for me, it's either costa lukaku/pelle/wilson or deeney or rooney/tekkers/sakho - the cash distribution feels right

personally I wouldn't spend 9.5 on two keepers, it really is 9m or bust for me in that area, in either combination

defence is fine imo, would agree with berb that ya ya looks a bit average. I'd personally downgrade to mane and upgrade saylor to a 4.5

I love panti, but just pick him and a 4m. if he gets injured you can always downgrade to whichever 4.5 looks best for next few games anyway

Sunderland is just not a team I'd hang my hat on fielding a GK from every week and I hate wasting transfers on GKs outside of WCs.

Ugh, maybe I'll just go back to Ruddy/Butland and get PVA in.

    RMT please.

    Speroni (Ruddy)

    Azpilicueta/Shaw/Kolarov/Debuchy/(Baker)
    Walcott/Sterling/Hazard/Chadli/(Wanyama)
    Benteke/Rooney/(Graham)

Debuchy may change to Mert/Gibbs/Monreal depending on Community Shield lineup.

I know my bench is extremely weak.

Any suggestions will be appreciated please.

Actually it was Moratti who let Inter die by not buying players and not selling the old ones that could have actually brought a lot of money and free them from those monstrous salaries. At the same time Benitez was incapable of pushing Moratti to buy him new players and incapable of handling the team he had.

Like i said all about opinions......Sky executed their plan to gain Yellow in the Pyrenees and to defend the jersey, Movistar planned to attack in the Alps and win the Tour. I dont think Valverde was gonna change that as Movistars plan was flawed. But hey it was a great tour and one which underlined Sky and Froome as the pre-eminent Grand Tour team and rider at present.

        Kaboul on bench.

Dick swapped it around a bit by swapping Defoe and AJ.

Lens looking very good. Only playing Doncaster tho

      Lens - tick
4.5 defender - still to decide.

Would you say this is your first choice XI?

Larsson should come in. Probably for Rodwell. Expect JOS to partner either Coates or Kaboul.

The very reason why I signed up.

I couldn't stand seeing people selecting Hooper & Turner anymore.

I'm a Norwich fan. I signed to help those who were clearly selecting players who weren't starters.

I'm pretending he is not in the EPL.. his "goal threat" made me choose him over Clyne and i kept him for nearly half as season for 30 or so points 😆

Best 4.5 pick from Sunderland defence? I thought O'Shea was nailed, but now I'm not so sure.

Two of O'Shea/Kaboul/Coates plus one of Jones/Matthews.

    Searching for good defence rotation:
    Butland/Ruddy
Kosc or Azpi to play every game
    Jeninkson/Williams/Richards/ Oshea for rotate

Opinions? Not the best rotate options?
