With the clamour for “Rate My Team” opinions ramping up, we thought we’d not only provide a place to collate such requests, but also allocate a window and some FFS team members to address them.

The first Fantasy Football Scout Rate My Team Surgery will take place this evening with myself and Jonty joined by an array of moderators and contributors in a bid to answer the first batch of Rate My Team queries and player pick questions.

What’s more, for the later surgeries, we’ve recruited some real experts to help us out.

Next week’s sessions are provisionally booked in for Wednesday and Friday and we’re lining up a cast of former Fantasy Premier League champions to join us in giving their views on your queries.

We plan to run Google Hangouts for part of the session, allowing you to drop in and listen to the variety of nonsense being discussed as we go through the threads.

Tonight’s surgery is booked in for 9pm until 11pm UK time and we’ll be posting an article to host your queries an hour before we get online.

Keep an eye out for the article which will appear in the community section this evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

A lot of questions have risen this past week with regards to which Arsenal players should be considered for FPL and rightly so. Having followed the lads for a long time now these are my thoughts on what you can expect from the Gunners attacking options -

    1. Theo - I start with Theo because I think he is FPL gold, granted he has been injured for a while but when Theo is in the team it usually = points. With Ozil fully fit, I expect Theo to get behind the defence a lot! I also think that if played wide we can expect a fair few assists for Giroud who loves to make those near post runs.

    2. Alexis - His price puts me off a bit as I think Theo offers you the same output in FPL. Also, I expect him to be slowly brought into the thick of things. Do not expect him to start games till after the international break. Like Hazard he has that 'explosive' factor which had to look past.

    3. Ozil - If anyone has watched Arsenal's preseason games closely you would have noticed one thing for sure, Ozil has been making countless runs in behind the defence, and in typical Ozil style he has assisted and assisted and assisted. I do think we will see the best out of him when Theo and Ramsey are on the field with him. Those last min runs by Ramsey along with Walcott trying to get in behind the defence, there is no one better to find a ball to them than Ozil.

    4. Ramsey & Cazorla - I club the two of them together as I expect a very similar output from them and they are very hard to read. I think both of them can offer great differentials. Ramsey loves to time his runs into the box at the last minute, almost Lampard-esque and with Santi taking set pieces and penalties he does have that x-factor.

    5. Lastly, Jack has also looked superb in preseason but his only drawback is that I don't think he currently makes it into the starting 11. If he manages to break through I'd keep a close watch on him at 6.0 he could make a mockery of his price tag!

My pick is Theo followed by Ozil!

I agree that Theo is the best option for first 2-3 Game Weeks provided he plays big part in the Community Shield. I watched the Wolfsburg game at the Emirates and Ozil was disapointing. He got replaced at half time. I personally would prefer Cazorla due to jis free kicks and pens.
That's about Arsenal midfield but I'm also drafting Giroud in alongside Wally 🙂

Oil was subbed at half time as he played the previous day v Lyon and was the only one who started v Wolfsburg who also started v Lyon.

I'm holding off for the til I see wengers hand this Sunday

    GK Fabianski / Pantilimon
DEF Azpi, Bellerin, Cedric, Creswell, / Mings
MID Sanchez, Fabregas, Payet, Milner , Van Ginkiel
    FOR Pelle, Sakho, Denney

I am considering Silva instead of Sanchez or
Aguero instead of Pelle and then Cazorla instead of Sanchez

we're playing draft with friends, so every each one of us needs to have different players 🙂

As for me a bigger problem is who to go for from the 5 (Costa,Fabregas,Sanchez,Silva,Aguero) cause I can have only one for the whole season, other lads from work are going to pick one of them after me no doubt

Those two keepers get most of their points from saves and BPS so most will come against better teams. No need to have them both IMO

    Ruddy
    Azpilicueta-Koscielny-Cedric
    Fabregas-Cazorla-Henderson-Depay
    Giroud-Rooney-Benteke

    subs: Butland, Wanyama, O'Shea, Baker

    Any suggestions?

Biggest concerns for me would be (in order):
      1. Lack of at least one of Hazard/Costa. I don't think Fab is sufficient coverage for those 2
      2. Giroud's PT with Walcott healthy and Arsenal still chasing other forwards in transfer market
      3. Lack of City coverage

    Hello guys RMT please 🙂

    Pantillimon Elliot

    Ivan/Koscielny/Francis Morgan/Bennett

    Hazard/Walcott/Henderson/Ritchie Wanyama

    Rooney Deeney Pelle

I know i have double promoted attackers but its a risk i may stick with! have 3.0 in the bank with 2.5 of it going to upgrade Rooney to Aguero gameweek 3, and also might use a possible wildcard gameweek 4, so what do people think?

    Thanks alot people 🙂

To be honest, I wouldn't take up two attacking spots with Ritchie and Deeney; there's really not that many places to go if both fall on their faces. Since Bournemouth have by far the better fixtures, I would keep Ritchie and consider downgrading either Hazard to Fabregas or Ivanovic to Azpi so you can afford a better striker.

I like the fact you are keeping money in the bank to upgrade Rooney to Aguero - I am surprised more people are not doing it.

I don't like Henderson as a pick, his points per game is not that great. I prefer Milner or Sig in that price range, or Payet.

Pelle is an interesting one; he's is scoring well pre-season and may carry that on for the opening fixtures until the inevitable barren patch - by which time I am sure you would have wildcarded anyway.

Seems like a bit of a confused strategy to be honest. If you're gonna use your wildcard anyway in gw4, then it seems silly to save money in the bank to get aguerro since you can just get him on your wc. You might as well just pick players for the first 4 game weeks. With this in mind, are you sure about deeney, Henderson, Ivanovic etc?

ok thanks man and the reason is because aguero fires early anyway and last time i left it too late... thought by gameweek 3 he should have sufficient gametime... by gameweek 4 im wildcarding to get the best players early as every year this has helped me.. i can and build value (even though the rate i do it won't be as much as previous years, it did help me alot late last season having 108 million)

    RMT Please !

    Schmeichel (Speroni)

    Richards - Bassong - O'Shea (Shawcross & Williams)

Ritchie - Hazard (Vc) - Sigurdsson - Redmond (Chadl)

    Deeney - Agüero (C) – Rooney

1 Million Left In the bank also.

Trying a five way Rotation at the BACK this year. Best i could come up with and picked the best pair of GK's with a differential to the defence.

    (Gk) Lec/Cpa

    (Def) Sto/Nor - Sun/Swa - Sto/Swa - Nor/Ava - Ava/Swa

    (Mid) Nor/Bou

Thinking of putting in Giroud/Kane if Agüero still isn't READY for GW1 ?

Should I swap out Sigurdsson/Chadl for Mané ?

I have picked Redmond over Johnson as he is a risk as he PLAYED left back recently ! What do ye think ?

I really rat wijnaldum and can't wait to see him play, but our early fixtures are really bad. Probably best to wait and see on that one. Also, a basic structural problem is you're gonna be benching a 7 mil plus attacker every week, which is a waste. Downgrade a mid to 4.5 and upgrade one of the others (maybe fab to haz)

Agree, Schneiderlin should go. Otherwise, strong MF 3, strike force is good (although I'm not convinced Pelle will be consistent). Speroni, for me is one of the poorer value budget keepers, since Palace's clean sheets dried up when Pardew came in.

Right guys, getting there now... And I was pretty comfortable until I contemplated a plan to get Aguero in. In my opinion, I have to weaken too much to do so. Can I have some opinions on this two teams:

    Team A:
    Schmeichel (Butland)
    Azpilicueta - Koscielny - Cédric (Coates - Francis) -> 3-way rotation
Hazard - Walcott - Henderson - Richie - Colback -> Colback usually benched for Sakho
    Costa - Benteke (Sakho)

** Toyed with the idea of swapping out Colback for Grealish

    Team B:
    Schmeichel (Butland)
    Azpilicueta - Mertesacker - Cédric (Coates - Francis) -> 3-way rotation
    Hazard - Ozil - Henderson - Richie - (Wanyama)
    Aguero - Benteke - Sakho

Obviously, my intention would be not to have Aguero till GW4 (probably going with Rooney GW1), but would have to build my team like this from GW1 (it's too risky to plan my first four transfers already with the potential for non-starters or injuries).

I've also contemplated I could keep Walcott and downgrade Cédric to another 4.5 defender.

I feel Team A is much stronger overall, so is the impact of Aguero (v Rooney/Costa) important enough to weaken as much as I'd need to.

Thoughts on any or all of the above??

    Hi there,

Two questions that relate to Chelsea:

    1. Do you think they will suffer a hangover from last years success? We know how tough it can be to get started after a big season (see Liverpool last year). Their first 7 games are on the tough side, playing some teams at home who have a recent goal pedigree. Do you think a defensive rotation of two strong players from, for example, Arsenal and Liverpool, could see a much better return over 6 easy home games than Azpi or Ivan played locked in for 3 home games and 4 away games.

    2. Is Hazard at risk of losing penalties. Mourinho must know that keepers have worked out to not go early and that all his kicks are low and placed after the keeper moves. He's a canny operator, surely Hazard will have to change up or Mourinho will change up the taker

      1. There will be no hangover, they will have a good start again. Fabregas is a man of the first half of the season and he is keeping that team together tbh.
      2. Falcao can take them as well as Costa

      1. Been monitoring mourinho for years now, i dont think they will keep the same sheet as last year but no way they wont be one of the best or maybe the best at defence.

2.Hazard sure choice, i dont even need to mention his outstanding style of scoring penalties and i dont think he will lose his spot by anyone, dont bother thinking it

RMT please 🙂 this team should score well and it's well balanced imo. Appreciate any feedback 🙂

    Myhill / Guzan

Ivan / Darmian / Kos (Huth / Targett)

Hazard / Ozil / Silva / Hendo (Wanyama)

    Rooney / Pelle / Ighalo

I had Ozil and Walcott but changed wally to Silva for City coverage.

    Cheers 🙂

Would downgrade a defender (darmian) to 4.5 and upgrade Pelle or Ighalo, maybe Haz to Fab as well for the same reason

I won't be upgrading Pelle because I think he'll bag a few goals. Especially with soton's good fixtures. And there isn't a £6m striker I'm confident in. I may downgrade Darmian and upgrade Wanyama though and play 3-5-2. Cheers 🙂

      Expensive but strong in defence.

Very strong midfield, and strike force looks ok too, although as a regular starter Ighalo could be a risk. But you have to take a risk to find the hidden gems.

      Good team!

Well in the past I've always gone cheap in defence and I never do too well. So I'm thinking of changing it up. I think Ighalo could be a gem. Just hoping he gets game time. We'll see 🙂 cheers mate

    Bellerín Darmian Jenkinson (O'Shea, Targett)

    Cazorla Sterling Hazard Depay Milner

    Sakho Rooney (Graham)

It's a good team to be fair. But I would play o'she's first week.... Not 100% sure if darmian is nailed, would prefer shaw over him.

Are you happy with playing 3,5,2 every week?

I'm a West Ham fan and I can't see us doing well at arsenal first game of the season, so your first GW points might not be where you want them to be.

I personally would downgrade Depay to a 4.5 and spend that 4M on upgrading pathetic graham!

should have laid it out different. Jenkinson isn't elligible to play on the first GW but has easier fixtures after anyway. I know what you mean about Graham but have a feeling Depay will hit the ground running. Thanks

quite a good team my only concern is the backline, is Bellerin nailed?i don't think darmain is either, courtois is ok but you might want a 5.0 keeper who plays for a team that can get cleansheets and save points (panti or fabianski) i would invest in a chelsea defender also (ivan or azpi depending on preference) also are you playing 3-5-2 i take it? because if so you must be confident that milner will outscore a potential 3rd striker with good fixtures and a similiar price ie Sakho

finding most strikers at lower prices unappealling with the wealth of midfield potential this year. I think both Bellarin and Darmian will play. Thanks

Hi all. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on my team and all answers to the questions I pose.

    Butland Ruddy
    Azpi O'Shea Huth Francis Cedric
    Hazard Mane Chadli Walcott Fletcher
    Rooney Wilson Benteke
2.0m in the bank to fund Rooney to Aguero.

The main part of my team that I'm not sure about is Benteke. I don't know if he'll suit Liverpool's style of play but I don't see any better options at his price. Is there anyone you think is better.

I have gone for Wilson over Deeney because of his better fixtures and I think his pace will cause teams problems.

Feel free to leave any suggestions or thoughts.

looks like a good team. I would consider Milner over Chadli as I think he'l do well at liverpool. I'v been in two minds about Benteke as well, and share your thought on viable options at that price so have gone 3-5-2.

    Hi everyone,

I think I've decided on this (so far!) what do you all think?

    Butland ruddy

    Azpi koscielny lescott Richards targett

    Hazard Walcott silva mane surman

    Rooney sakho Wilson

Not sure if strikers aren't strong enough, could downgrade mane to Ritchie and upgrade sakho to Benteke
