Season after season we’re seeing new weekly and daily Fantasy Football games launch and compete for our attention. It’s become obvious that these types of games are here to stay and are growing at pace.

This summer has been no different and it’s became clear that we needed a new approach to dealing with the games and to help guide those who decide to dip into them.

While we’ve limited ourselves to working with two full-time weekly/daily game partners in previous seasons, this time around we’re going to be more fluid over the course of the campaign.

You’ll see a number of games appear on our pages, some new, some familiar, although we’ll never look to cover more than two dedicated games in any given Gameweek.

In addition, we’ve a new approach to discussing these games and guiding your involvement.

We’ve recruited the 2013/14 Fantasy Premier League champion, Tom Fenley and we’re setting him a challenge.

He’ll get £100 stake money in every game that we include on our pages and we’re challenging him to use his undoubted Fantasy Football talent to turn that into profit.

Tom will be here updating his progress in each game, mulling over the options presented in a bid to build on his stake money.

He’ll also be providing a new “Weekly Shop” article in midweek which will detail his thinking for his player selections, outlining those picks that will be the mainstays of his weekly/daily lineups and those budget “enablers” that allow for big spend elsewhere.

In this way, we hope that we can help guide your strategies in whatever game you’re playing, whilst giving you an insight into playing some of our partner games week to week, including the prizes and formats they may have on offer.

In the meantime, we’d appreciate your views on daily and weekly games and will be starting a Hot Topic later this evening to capture your thoughts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The tinkering has stopped for a good week now so any opinions on this team would be appreciated:

    Ruddy (Rudd)
    Cedric, PVA, Huth (Lescott, Coates)
    Hazard, Walcott, Ramsey, Ritchie (Bentaleb)
    Rooney, Kane, Lukaku

Top heavy so I can afford Aguero in two moves, with the first likely being Lukaku to a cheapy. Coates in there as I'm not sure I like any of the other 4.5m options available really, but open to suggestions? He's my 5th def so is more back up than anything, only have Coates pencilled in to play GW3 when Lescott + Huth have CHE/TOT.

    Thanks

Would genuinley go Kaboul over Coates. Consesus up north is that he will start over O'Shea and he's more of an aerial threat than coates

Just worried hes a bit injury prone. But definitely waiting to hear some news on which 2 of the 3 will start, although we might not hear anything I guess.

On the sunderland forum they're convinced it's going to be Kaboul and Coates at CB

Apparantly he played 60mins other day and was completley fine when taken off

Cheers for the info. Considering he is gonna be my back up defender I will probably go for the non injury prone one.

I'm doing similar. Bentekke Kane rooney . only got merts and Cedric Gomez and huth..risk but end of day the less you have invested in defence the less transfers to get in aguero and Sanchez

I wanted to go Luk but his start is horrible, whereas Pelle seems to have a nicer run?

Lukaku possibly has the best GW1 fixture, Watford have gone transfer mad with foreign imports and I'm not sure how solid they will be. Definitely prefer Benteke for the longer term but the fact I know I will have to downgrade 1 or 2 or my big hitters to get Aguero I'm happy to take the one week punt, especially now he has penalties.

      Don't like the goalies.
Your defence could improve. A lot.

Your forwards will not bring the returns that expense demands.

Not sure I'm in love with it mc.

Only two strikers scored over 150 pts last season in fpl. Do you really want to spend so much up there? I know every season is different but I think you are a bit unbalanced in midfield and defence.

Have been tempted to go 3-5-2, but will downgrade up front to get Aguero so will be like Aguero, Kane, 5.5 or... Rooney, Aguero, 5.5 and downgrade to a 7m mid. Its either sacrifice the 8.5m mids to get Aguero or lose a bit in defence, don't you think?? What structure are you going with?

I'm looking at two of haz roo and kun and going to try and work the value card after that. I'm hoping (and think it will happen) kun is playing up top with bony as I can leave him out then I reckon.

For me kun kane is too much if you want haz too

Feel pretty settled on this now but open to some last minute tinkering...

    Ruddy / Butland

    Azpi / Francis / Huth / Cedric / Coates

    Hazard / Ozil / Sterling / Chadli / Sinclair

    Rooney / Benteke / Sakho.

    0.0m itb

    Am I good to go?

Considering downgrading Coates, Sinclair and Chadli for 4.0, 4.5, Mane. What do you think?

Southampton to be the same defensive force as last season?

They have lost some players but then again that happened last season as well.

But what's different this season is the loss of Alderweireld and Schneiderlin. They have been replaced with caulker and Clasie.

Don't think the new boys are upgrades(downgrades maybe?) on the previous ones which was not the case last season.

Last season Alderweireld came in for Yoshida which was a huge upgrade and the CM pairing remained the same inspite of players moving and which is absolutely vital for CS.

I'm weighing up on the prospect of starting with Cedric instead of a 5.5m def but I'm not convinced.

Alderweireld came in for Lovren who did have a great season.

They lost Shaw and replaced him with Bertrand. That wasn't considered an upgrade back then, was it?

    A) Schmeichel/Butland (seems template)

    B) Schmeichel/Gomes (Gomes' ownership only 0.8%, could be nice punt)

    C) Schmeichel/Myhill (risking a lot benched CS)

I dont know what to do regarding the community champion challenge with my Week 1 Picks!.

I put a side together, liked it alot, before I actually read the FFS article and saw that pretty much every selection was mentioned in the article.

So if my mission is to win by the largest margin, what good is it to have an XI that may look good but is too similar to what I would be up against?

At the same time I dont want to get too cute and have the community ridicule for my selections should they stink.

    WHAT DO I DO????

I thought this when I read the article. Might be an idea to get the community team submitted before the article's released.

In terms of picks, be selfish. If they've got Lukaku, get Deulofeu. If they've got Rooney, get Depay. The community knows you'll be trying to fluke a wide margin and every other person this season will do the same.

Can I add another question? I am reading some negative comments about West Ham's defensive prospects. What do you think? I am planning on rotating Jenkinson in and out of my team for the first 8 GWs or so, mainly just playing him in West Ham's juicy home fixtures.

Kouyate, Noble and, in a week or two, Obiang - not to mention the boy Oxford, laugh at those comments.

Thanks. Jenkinson OK for GW2 you think? Tompkins safer? 5.0 maximum.

Yes, to the first, probably to the second. I will let you know on Friday.

As and when we settle - which is not quite yet, admittedly, I believe that we will be formidable. And, ceteribus paribus, the melodious Song should join the party before Christmas ...

Ah, the melodious Song will add to the West Ham symphony will he?

I do like teams with solid DM/CMs. 🙂

Indeedy. Yeppers - we are virtually paying him while he gets over his op.

Reaching out to those who favour 2 Keepers from same team. Who are you going for?

I was looking at Speroni/Hennessey until Speroni injury.

Now leaning towards Ruddy/Rudd due to budget & fixtures.

[Ideally want to keep the budget below £9mil]

If I go that way it will probably be the WBA pair, whoever that is.

Ouuuff, WBA have nasty fictures, what made you opt for them?

I don't think they have nasty fixtures from GW5 onwards when I'd bring them in after wildcarding. And I don't plan to use any FTs on GKs if I can avoid it so unless I go for a rotation fixtures are not that relevant anyway.

Good to know Ruth, not sure i'll go that way but appreciate the insight. Wish i could afford POanti/Mannone

Schmeichel/Schwarzer a better prospect than Ruddy/Rudd for me.
