    Likely to start vs Chelsea?

He looked surprisingly sharp to me, had a couple of decent shots in the box and he was sprinting at full capacity.

I'd be very, very surprised if he doesn't start on Sunday.

Didn't get much service at all, tbh.

One shot saved from a tight angle, another shot blocked.

Game was over, and City were coasting.

          Not so sure about that.

Cech didn't really have a save to make outside of your goals.

We got the joint most clean sheets in 13/14 with Mertz and Kos, and that was with Arteta as the DM, and Wojjy in goal.

I just think Villa have a blunted attack, and I'd expect a United CS.

Can't bring myself to do it.
Personally, I think nothing is won in GW1, not a lot has been learnt REALLY..

Well, nothing that 1 FT can't address. Most seem to want Payet/Ayew/Mahrez - which a free transfer can do. Or, even a -4 if you're feeling that desperate chasing points.

Arsenal will bounce back, as will Chelsea.
I don't think it's time to panic WC.

No panic here - all to plan (apart from the fact that w1 scored so low)
Wish we had a clearer notion of price fluctuations though. I realise they're changing it but I was hoping we'd get more action than last year. I found it a little tame and it looks like it's going to similar now.

I took Walcott out last night because I realised even if he does play this week and score there's still a chance he might not start the next game and I can't deal with those problems.

But if he play this week and score, you'll have more options with two FT the week after. I'm keeping unless Wenger in some way confirm he won't start.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it. I don't have any major problems in my team though from what I can tell already have Aguero so I don't think I'll need the two transfers

Let's be honest, it's not the player that's the issue

      It's the moronic manager

      1. GrumblyBlowfish
        • 12 Years
        10 years, 6 months ago

You could say that but that manager still picks the team. Maybe he's just being cautious because of his injuries over the last few years?

Maybe last year, but it seems that he only plays him regular when he's up for a contract

He was in form, earned his spot and got benched on the home opener for the kid and the managers pet..

    This GW I have
    Schmeichel
    Kos PvA Jenkinson
    Mahrez hazard mane Payet ozil
    Rooney Tekkers (c)
    Subs: Wilson Richards saylor

    Thinking then gw3 wildcard to...

    Schmeichel Schwarzer
    Kos Darmian Jenkinson Richards Oxford
    Sanchez silva Wijnaldum Mahrez Payet
    Aguero Gomis Wilson

    Crazy to not have hazard?

    1. Sharkytect

Yeah. Or I would personally do Silva to Hazard, as you have Aguero

            • 14 Years
            10 years, 6 months ago

That means downgrading Darmian and Jenkinson to say Gomez and Francis which seems weak defence then?

    2. DF
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 6 months ago

I reckon Silva will outscore Hazard for the first quarter so fair play for dropping him.

I wouldn't be picking Wilson on a WC. I know folk here have said he looked good at the weekend. I disagree. He looked nowhere near good enough for the top flight - he's gonna struggle to score.

      good luck

  10. Sharkytect

What should be addressed first in this team?

    Butland/Ruddy
    Cedric, Azpilcueta, Francis, Huth, O'shea*
    Chadli, Anya, Payet, Walcott*, Sterling*
    Rooney, Aguero, Lambert*

At least Sterling has a starting spot, but his value will go down if he does nothing.
I expect Walcott to start against Palace, but not sure about Pulis playing two strikers away from home, or O'shea's likelihood of starting...

    1. Skipdipper
      • 14 Years
      10 years, 6 months ago

O'shea probably start after that horror show?
      Walcott maybe gets a game
Lambert your issue I agree and then Walcott the week after

      1. Skipdipper
        • 14 Years

I would wait and do Sterling > Yaya as it could be a waste doing it ahead of the Chelsea game which could easily be 0-0 or 0-1.
Defence looks like your weakest area. I would upgrade O'Shea to a 5.0 (Toby or West Ham defender) and then do Sterling to Yaya next week.

      1. Sharkytect
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 6 months ago

Sounds sensible. I could even use this week to see if Oxford and Gomez are looking like regular starters, and maybe pick one of them instead of O'shea next week (I need to save money somewhere if I want Hazard in)

Reasons not to knee-jerk and bring in Mahrez:

    1. Scored in what is possiby the easiest home game of the season (poor Sunderland team not yet in the survivial fight)
    2. Question marks still over Tinkerman
    3. Relatively tough run of games coming up

    Thoughts?

I have both of them in my team, so no decision for me. But i personally do not chase value, though it comes handy during later stages. May be some other changes you could do if you want mahrez

If sterling is up against ivanovic then keep him. As he was blitzed by the Swansea chap and has always been slow

I'll get Aguero. Don't think it'll be at Sterling's expense.

Too early. And why sell Kane? They have some decent fixtures coming up and Spurs look pretty good against United

How often are Arsenal and Chelsea gonna both do that badly in the same gameweek, as well as spurs not scoring, and Man Utd and Liverpool only getting one goal each?

This is a one-off gameweek. Don't base your poor scores on this week alone.

I'm sure this will have been discussed a million times but I haven't seen it anywhere on last few pages, but why did Silva not get the first goal last night? My bet with Sky for him to score first paid out!

Keep. Did you watch the game? He was good and just unlucky not to score. And Everton are crap at the moment. I am doubling up with Pelle.

Is the info we gleamed from watching city last night irrelevant considering it all changes when Aguero starts?
    ( possibly formation change)
    Silva out wide
    Yaya deeper still

No such thing as Silva out wide. Even when he is supposed to he never stays there.

Would imagine most days will be Aguero straight for Bony

I don't see them going with 2 strikers vs Chelsea, I think it will be the same setup just switch Bony for Aguero.

50/50, I think they'll play with 2 quite a few matches when both are fit.

    Cech
    Mert - Clyne - Ward
    Hazard - Walcott - Sterling - Depay
    Rooney - Benteke - Defoe

    Schwarzer - Wanyama - S Taylor - Baker

I am thinking of Mert > Darmian or should I just leave it till next week and save FT?

Depends on your inclination to manage funds. If price rises bother you then do it today otherwise wait and see if Arsenal bounce back and Utd are capable of more clean sheets.

I had a shocking GW with these but I think it was just a one off not alot of people had a good one hoping that will all change next week!

Does this seem like a sound plan?
    GW2:Koscielny-->Darmian
    GW3:Benteke-->Sakho
    GW4:Rooney-->Aguero

Would like to get Kun in earlier but don't want to take a hit.

How about this as a team to involve Haz, Kuhn and Alexis. Tried to balance it as much as possible all the way through the team. I admit the other two strikers are a huge hit or miss but they rtotate very well and are both their teams talismen and guaranteed starts. You don't really get more consistency or value for money than Hendo and Siggy, Mahrez pick is just being fashionable if i'm honest, Gomez and Targett are early season punts for next to nothing.

    Mignolet (McCarthy)

    Huth Targett Darmian Gomez Koscielny

    Hazard Henderson Sigurdsson Sánchez Mahrez

    Wilson Agüero Deeney

    I would vealue your opinions.
