Limping out of the blocks like three flabby Dads at their kids’ Sports Day, Granville, Jonty and myself are in a sheepish mood for the first ScoutCast of the season.

We do our upmost to rouse some enthusiasm for the events of Gameweek 1, buoyed by tales from you, the community and your latest round of finely honed questions, drilling down into the current big dilemmas.

Chelsea and Arsenal’s stuttering start, the strategy surrounding Aguero and Sanchez, plus the top targets ahead of Friday’s 6.45 deadline provide plenty to distract me from the fact that I’d been robbed of a David Silva goal just minutes before coming on air.

    I'm sticking with my preseason plan and going for Ibe over Mahrez this week even after Mahrez's brace last week. Bournemouth at home is too nice a fixture to ignore. I'm thinking logically right or am I daft?

        I had him GW 1 as well but think away to a tough WHU team may not lead to many points and if I don't play Ibe at home to a Bournemouth team that just lost to Villa then I should never play him.

    All this Wally talk is giving me deja vu. Seems like almost the exact thing happened at the start of last season where it looked like Costa was likely to be out with a hamstring injury and then BOOM he gets a brace

    Thoughts on Max Gradel?

    17 Goals in Ligue 1 last season, 10 more than Payet and 6 or 7 more than Ayew.
    Played for a weaker team then, plays for a weaker team now.

    Bournemouth are also a very attacking side and Gradel is a very attacking 'midfielder'
    Overlooked due to Payet and Ayew...etc. shining in GW1. Looking to play him from GW4 onwards. Thoughts?

    Just got in drunk from the pub and ive decided to sell Walcott for Ayew and Fabregas for Sanchez.
    Its logical because a 0.1 drop is actually a 0.5 drop at this stage and your team will be suffer as a result

        True and there is definitely a possibility that it could go wrong, but you've got to play the probability game and the safest move is to take Walcott out, save the money, and transfer in a guarantee starter, if you play the probability game all year then you should be up there

    Sorry. Theo again but owners hear me out. He's around -96% on 3 sites but those sites have 7, 9 and 11 players over -100%. There won't be that many price drops tonight so even if he does hit 100% he may still have another day. That means you can get rid of him tomorrow evening, you still have him for Palace. If he blanks, fine, he's gone now and you've got your money back. If he scores, you've got the points and surely you're not gonna want to get him back to go through all this again! That's my plan anyway so please stop selling!!

      I actually can't afford to lose 0.1 as I have a plan to get him out in gw4 to enable aguero.

      However, I haven't sold him yet as I want to keep him this game week.

      It's a real dilemma as will probably sell immediately after the deadline which means missing any potential price rise should be score!
