The build-up to this weekend’s action has been like the annual Fantasy Football Hokey Cokey, and trying to pin down players to select as a result has evidently not been the easiest. Malouda is in, Malouda is out, Malouda is in again; rinse and repeat for the likes of Nani and Van Der Vaart and the head starts spinning.

Despite these murky waters, we’ve done our best to once again find six picks that we feel are set for a decent scoring week over in the Metro Fantasy Football sphere. Participants in that game can now take a look at our “Bankers” and “Punts” for the week ahead…

Choosing a “Banker” this week evidently became an easier affair than many other weeks, with options a tad sparser than normal, but there were still a few other players who can be deemed unfortunate to miss out.

On the back of his Europa League hat-trick, Steven Gerrard could well prove a decent selection, despite facing league leaders Chelsea, as he’ll hoover up bags of Opta based bonus points on top of any goal based returns that may head his way. If Carlos Tevez is confirmed fit and ready for the trip to West Brom, it goes without saying he always stands a chance of a bounty, but with nothing definite as of yet, we deemed it too risky to stick our necks out on that one. Samir Nasri once again misses out to his skipper; if and when Cesc gets injured again the Frenchman will undoubtedly get the chance to remove his bridesmaid’s dress. Then of course there’s Didier Drogba – always about, always a threat.

Punting on a player is always a fun part of Fantasy Football and Gameweek 11 really offers the chance for Managers to spread their risk-taking wings.

Alexander Hleb faces Robert Green this week hoping that he reverts to his England form after a star performance last week. In Saturday’s early kick-off Chung-Yong Lee will probably be tasked with doubling up on Gareth Bale, but if Spurs show any sign of Champions League fatigue, he could find a few holes in-between the Welshman and Assou-Ekotto. At the Cottage, Aston Villa may struggle without a first choice striker but if they do break the home defence, the creative spark will likely come from Ashley Young. In the same match, Fulham’s Mousa Dembele is also worth a look – he returned outstanding stats last weekend in the win over Wigan, despite Clint Dempsey stealing the plaudits with a brace.

Check out the six players that we thought were just that little bit better than those mentioned above here.

You have Nani/VDV and Jara OUT this weekend.

You can field 11 without making transfers and saving one for midweek to make double switch. Nice.

Okay, I've buckled and used my freebie despite planning on using it for double midweek. Jara OUT Jagielka IN, Jag's was on the cards next week anyway, so I may aswell do it this week where Jara is definitely out for 3 games compared to Nani/VDV who are not confirmed out for the same period of time.

Is this good use of a wildcard?

    Robinson (Gomes)
    Toure, Coleman, Samba, Cole (Shawcross)
Nani, Malouda, Brunt, vDV (De Jong)
    Bent, Tevez (Carroll)

    to

    Foster (Robinson))
    Ridgewell, Coleman, Samba, Cole (Elmohamady)
    Arteta, Fabregas, Brunt, Bale (Ferguson)
    Drogba, Hernandez (Carroll)

    With 1.1 to spare.

Thinking Arteta back to Nani as soon as he's fit.

    Foster

    Coleman/Simpson/Elmohamady

    Fabregas/Adam/Nolan

    Drogba/Berbatov/Chamakh

Have already used my freebie. What do you guys think? Is it worth taking a 4 point hit to get Nani out for someone and if so, whom?

    My current team is laughable.

    Foster Jaask
    A.Cole Coleman Shawcross Elmo Jara**
Fabregas (C) Nani ** Malouda VDV**
    Drogba Heskey** Carroll

Thats four confirmed out, with Malouda Coleman and possibly Elmo rotation risks.

Nani -> Arteta and maybe Heskey -> Obinna, I can still field 11 without the second transfer, just means if Malouda doesn't play then I have no-one else to play (Mind you he will come on), What'd Ya think? Just the first one, or both?

You need to sell Heskey or Jara first, they are both definitely missing the next 3 gameweeks... Heskey is missing the next 5. Sell him, play your eleven.

Thanks Andy, I suppose it is only really a 2 point hit Heskey -> Obinna and not really a hit at all with Nani -> Arteta, so you think both yes Andy? Play your eleven didn't make much sense to me.

Play your eleven means just sell Heskey and play your fit eleven players. I can't think of a way to say it simpler.

If you were to do another transfer the lead case should be Jara as he too is out the longest, Nani and VDV could very easily be back by midweek and are very good players - shouldn't be priorities.

Thanks, I know Nani is good, but I like the idea of Arteta, VDV is staying. I can't get anyone decent for Jara and he was bench fodder anyways. Also Man U have two tough away games next, and after that there fixtures are good where as Chelsea's are bad, Malouda -> Nani... Hum.... Thanks for the advice, I just know my team as it were... Perhaps just take the hit up to 8 and get rid of Jara, I am happy taking an 8 point hit this week...

Think that is it now. Nani -> Arteta and Heskey -> Piquionne this week. Next week, well whatever same for GW13, GW14, get Nani in for Malouda.

And maybe Jara out as well, perhaps next week if I get the oppurtunity.

And there was me thinking on Monday that I will just do ShawX to a 4.8 defender. Nieve.

Well truth be told, I haven't actually used it yet but am as close as one can be. Who else would you get in place of him?

I have 1.1 spare. Ferguson is there as a cheap option as it's unlikely i'll play 5 in the midfield very often.

i meant in place of Coleman. Adam means spending and extra 1.0 on a player that's unlikely to play. I could always do Brunt to Adam though.

Have I gotten a bit lucky with my only concerns being VdV and Nani?
I'm looking on the bright side of things here because this is the week that separates the serious player from the dabbler, the dabbler will be doing a lot of panic transfers 🙂

    I have a few questions.

I have already made a transfer. Nani to Arteta.

Now Im thinking of taking a 4pt hit to get some United cover.

    The question is.

Should I do Ade -> Berbs or Lilpea or should i do Carroll to lilpea?

And wich of lilpea or Berbs?

If I use Ade to lilpea or Berbs i can still afford Tevez or RVP when they are available. That option goes away if i put the funds on the carroll transfer.
