It’s Jonty’s time to curry sympathy this week and he’s on the receiving end of a barrage of cyber-bullying from co-host Granville.

Determined to the belittle Jonty’s Wildcard performance following Callum Wilson’s hat-trick, Granville takes to Twitter before roasting him live on air on the ScoutCast. He seems to have totally missed the fact that I too sold on Wilson as part of my own Wildcard; I’m quite happy for Jonty to play Patsy on this one.

Jonty rolls with the virtual punches to join us as we look back on the Gameweek that saw all three of us refresh our squads. We score our Wildcards out of ten, before scanning the community for Gameweek tales in “Rough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, as we assess Pedro’s pedigree, the lure of Aleks Kolarov and the merits of a well-rounded squad in the light of the FPL chips.

This ScoutCast was first broadcast live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday. Be sure to subscribe to our channel for news of upcoming live Casts. You can view the broadcast in full via the larger player below but, if you prefer the edited audio version, you’ll need this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hi guys, just your thoughts and any suggested changes to my WC team would be great! Have Sanchez and Westwood but not sure if I should change them to Coutinho and Shaqiri/Ritchie.

    Butland (Myhill)

    Kolorov Lovren Huth (Shaw Francis)

    Silva Sanchez Chadli Mahrez (Westwood)

    Aguero Diouf Gomis

    0.3 mil ITB

    Thanks guys 🙂

If Pellegrini did manage to beat Flores with Malaga, when the latter was at Atletico, and has 100% victory when at R.Madrid, I am 99% sure Man City will win easily.
They are both good managers but as you can see, the squad strength determined the result.

      I'm predicting a 3-0 win for M.City

WC is active and would like opinions on who to pair up with Francis on a 3 x 4.5 rotation.

Have Wat and Lei at present but would love to hear others opinions if you have one?

3 promoted sides looks good fixture wise for a rotation, then I remember it means backing 3 relegation candidates to be good defensively. I'm never keen on defensive rotations like this because it usually means backing teams like this. I'd rather take 2x 4.5 rotation and take Turner as 3.9 bench fodder.

having non playing players in not an option for me long term.

And yes relying on promoted team to keep CS is like dealing with the devil. Going to see how Stoke/BOU/WAT looks in a fixture chain.

        Thanks for the reply

          I see it slightly differently.

I am happy to carry a 4.0/3.9 defender. How often do you use your 5th defender? Team value is low right now. I am carrying Targett. Later when value gets higher he can easily become a 4.5.

Cash is tight now and that .5 can really help up top. Just my opinion!

weeks 9, 13, 19 all look at a bit drab. swa, swa, TOT being the best options in the 3 weeks respectively.

Morning All. Ive got that uneasy feeling that i have a good team this week. Never a good sign!

    Butland
    Darmain/ Gomez/Targett
    Hazard/Sanchez/Yaya/ Maherez
    Aguero (C)/ Wilson/ Gomis

    McCarthy/Richards/Westwood/Williams

    0FT 1.1M ITB

I wont bore you with the Darmain/William/ Richards starting spot. Read enough on here to see its a coin toss

I want to ask, longer term how do i get Gomis to Benteke? Mini league is my one priority and 90% of teams have him, he could really do me some damage. Longer term Hazard to Pedro if hes a viable source of points to raise cash? thing is im only about .3 off doing it now.

    Any thoughts really welcome

Took a -4 hit this week to bring in pedro and kolarov. I'm playing the market and trying to rack up my team value, so I thought the -4 is justified.

    McCarthy (Hennessey)
Kolarov - Darmian - Gomez (Huth, Oxford)
Pedro - Sanchez - Yaya - Mahrez (Westwood)
    Aguero - Benteke - Gomis

Pretty template, but pretty happy with my team. But every time I triple up on a team, they usually do poorly, so expect city to struggle against Watford. My apologies in advance!

Evening. Just watching MOTD and I must say Costa looks like the one to get. I'm not giving up on Hazard yet but with the wealth in midfield and the pace they looked to have in that match is making me reconsider.

Right, instead of debating Pedro vs Hazard you could avoid the decision and go with Costa instead.

I'd probably go with the Costa trio. But I'm not entirely convinced that Costa will outscore Gomis by so much. He's not a double figure player often enough to be 4m more expensive.

Nice. I have ABC but unfortunately Cisse is my C. Debating a straight swap to Diouf or a hit to go Hazard and Cisse to Shaqiri and Costa.

Shaq and Costa looks good. Hazard and Diouf though won't cost you anything. I'd almost say roll FT and see if Hazard does anything, if he doesn't sell before he drops like a stone.

Feel like I don't need to make a transfer this week. Thoughts?

    Schemichel McCarthy
    Gomez Kolarov Shaw Prodl Francis
    Sanchez Yaya Delay Chadli Wanyama
    Agüero Diouf Gomis

Ive been looking at that aswell and it is very high. But last season he was actually a pretty good finisher.

Interesting. I have this notion of him being a bad finisher which is whats stopping me getting him, for now.

I think the thing is almost all of his shots are from decent chances so last season he had a better conversion rate than the likes of Kun and Benteke (and this season).

Looks like he takes less less shots per game than most other strikers. Interesting to see if he can keep up the conversion rate.

Yeah i think that is the major worry. It means he relies on good finishing.

Causing me headaches. Which one is the stronger front 7:

    Sanchez-Silva-Coutinho-Mahrez (Redmond)
    Kun-Diouf-Wilson

    OR

    Sanchez-Yaya-Mahrez-Shaqiri/Ayew (Westwood)

On a WC, had Ruddy-Butland, but Ruddy has really disappointed.

Dropped him for McCarthy who I think will keep 1st spot for a little while despite Speroni. But Palace always concede.

    Best GK combo?

I'm willing to bring in Kolarov (even for a hit).

However, Pellegrini always rotates Clichy/Kolarov in at the most inconvenient moments.

That's my only doubt. How can we know this time its different? Short-term to long-term.

On current form Pellegrini would be stupid to drop Kolarov. As the scoutcast guys say, he's probably worth the -4 hit as there's a high chance of making it back straight away as well as score some extras.

Never say never of course, and if you're hesitant then just wait for the team news.

hard to say, but given southampton's form and their fixtures after this game, and stokes excellent fixtures, think it is worth it...mane is just very frustrating at the moment

With a lot of attacking options elsewhere I wouldn't double up. But Stoke have a good string of upcoming fixtures (apart from Arsenal away GW5), so doubling up could be worth a punt.

      I'd say one of them.

Stoke is not a heavy-scoring team.

I myself have Shaqiri - Wilson at the moment.

Afternoon all! Everyone happy with their teams for the weekend?

I've got a benching decision here - thoughts welcomed on which four to leave out, in what order! 🙂

    Butland / Myhill
    Gomez / Kompany / Darmian / Richards / Ward
    Pedro / Silva / Sanchez / Mahrez / Westwood
    Aguero / Diouf / Wilson

I'm thinking Myhill - Richards - Westwood - Ward on the bench?

I'm a United fan and I'm benching Shaw. We do look solid so far, but haven't come up against a team that's really attacked us yet and Swansea will definitely do that (beat us home and away last year).

I'm predicting a score draw. Maybe we'll knick it (I hope), but the Swans are looking strong.

Sweet, thanks for the reply. To be honest I guess I'm being a bit beligeren - RMT and FFF reckon Richards is a better bet, but since when is it a good idea to bench a premium option for a villa-sherwood defender?

Is anyone not captaining Aguero this weekend? Is it just too risky to go against the crowd and perhaps go for Silva or others? Chelsea assets for those who still own? Even Sanchez at Newcastle?

Captaining elsewhere could prove a good differential if Aguero doesn't score points...or prove disastrous if he does!

I am not a Kun owner. Yet. Could be painful though. Seem to recall taking a similar risk last season and got away with just an assist but tomorrow feels just too risky now. Will mean selling Hazard to get him in though and it feels wrong.
