There’s no doubt that Harry Kane’s emergence last season was one of the more remarkable storylines seen in the Premier League in recent years, with the Tottenham forward scoring 21 goals as Mauricio Pochettino’s side recorded a fifth place finish.

Having failed to register any attacking returns in his four appearances so far this season, though, Kane is struggling to live up to his 9.4 price tag in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), with the striker’s heavy workload over the nine months perhaps to blame. In this ‘Monitor’ article for members, we compare the England man’s underlying statistics from last season to this, and investigate some of the reasons why he may be struggling to hit the heady heights of the previous campaign.

    I got 2FTs and 1.8 ITB. Have absolutely no clue where to use 1 FT in this team:

    Myhill, McCarthy
    Darmian, Kolarov, Williams, Cathcart, Muniesa
    Sanchez, Silva, Ayew, Mahrez, Westwood
    Aguero, Gomis, Diouf

    I don't want to change any of my front 8. What would you suggest for using 1 FT?

            Doos, if I am reading/sorting your table correctly (big chances conceded, goals conceded, goal attempts in box conceded), the data suggest that Newcastle and Norwich are equivalent in their defensive weakness. IIRC, you are taking Kouyate and benching Wilson.

            Is there something in particular about Monday night that historically makes Koyate home to Newcastle that much more attractive than Wilson @ Norwich?

      I've just been looking at when would have been the best time to play the AOA chip if we had had one last season.

      My conclusion is that there is no best time to play it - it's almost entirely down to luck as to whether you break even or gain up to 10 points. On every occasion last season that my benched front player scored well, at least one of my other front players scored poorly. My 3rd defender very rarely made a decent score.

      On average, the AOA chip appears to be worth about 2.4 points
