There’s no doubt that Harry Kane’s emergence last season was one of the more remarkable storylines seen in the Premier League in recent years, with the Tottenham forward scoring 21 goals as Mauricio Pochettino’s side recorded a fifth place finish.

Having failed to register any attacking returns in his four appearances so far this season, though, Kane is struggling to live up to his 9.4 price tag in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), with the striker’s heavy workload over the nine months perhaps to blame. In this ‘Monitor’ article for members, we compare the England man’s underlying statistics from last season to this, and investigate some of the reasons why he may be struggling to hit the heady heights of the previous campaign.

    so i've not been following this site too closely this season, could someone fill me in on kolorov finally seeing some consistent starts? i know it's because of an injury to clichy but when the latter is fit are we expecting kolorov to keep his spot? need to decide whether to take the plunge or go with a safer option

        its exactly that concern which is pushing me towards another option tbh. i was burnt in ufpl last year by debuchy's injury. i imagine a similar thing is bound to happen with kolorov and the bench

          It'll nearly be January by the time Clichy is fit. Sort of. I doubt you'll miss out on too many points if you keep Kolarov and he gets rotated.

            true. i just looked at the fixtures that have been announced so far and city only have two sunday games (until gw 14) and one of those will have the team sheets out in time to adjust appropriately. so it is definitely a risk that can be looked after

        If McCarthy is replaced, it may be another week or even 2. U never know. Save the transfer this GW - you'll make the lost points back next GW for sure if you're clever with two FTs even if they don't play this week and either of them still could in GW 6.

      Hooper has played 13 mins in 4 games. Don't like Bennett either. Appreciate saving money but if your WC is used you need to make sure you have a good 15 to cover injuries and suspensions IMO.

      On his day, historically, Benteke is a beast. Last couple of seasons, it's been difficult to hold him with Villa's form and injuries. This season, he is a cast iron example of a player you shouldn't bring in until if and when Liverpool settle, he settles and £ for £, he rates above all alternatives. I had him GW 1 and 2 btw and have no plans to bring him back in unless I'm sure.

      I would, but if you are not convinced, then don't do it. I just do not think Mane is at the level of Alexis, and also do not think that Southampton are apt to score many goals (unless they play 10-man Norwich at home each week)
