There’s no doubt that Harry Kane’s emergence last season was one of the more remarkable storylines seen in the Premier League in recent years, with the Tottenham forward scoring 21 goals as Mauricio Pochettino’s side recorded a fifth place finish.

Having failed to register any attacking returns in his four appearances so far this season, though, Kane is struggling to live up to his 9.4 price tag in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), with the striker’s heavy workload over the nine months perhaps to blame. In this ‘Monitor’ article for members, we compare the England man’s underlying statistics from last season to this, and investigate some of the reasons why he may be struggling to hit the heady heights of the previous campaign.

    Is Ward a key member in the Palace defence as I'm contemplating my decision of making Mahrez captain to Aguero now... Can't decide. Do we reckon City will score more now?

        Just can't trust Sanchez at the moment despite how 'close' he is getting. Have a tiny itch that he will explode but it's between Aguero and Mahrez for me.

          Check future fixtures list. Transfer out players you won't be playing for some you'd consider starting. I'd dump Richards for McAuley

      I might consider Hazard > Pedro. Pedro is cheaper and looks full of potential as FPL gold. Hazard is miles away from his price tag at the moment and his chances are being diminished by the aforementioned Pedro!

          I nearly added Yaya > Silva to my previous post, but thought it was overkill. Just using your FT for the sake of it. Probably best to stay away from that City midfield at the moment, until we see how De Bruyne might fit in there and who picks up the Luka Modric (Assister's assister) role!

          As someone pointed out last week, Pulis has picked McAuley for every game he's been available for. No reason he now wouldn't pick him playing next to his Northern Ireland CB partner
