I always enjoy this weekly article on F365 http://www.football365.com/news/premier-league-winners-and-losers-4
Sometimes has a few Fanny points in there. It spoke about LVGs style and tactics of keeping possession These
    0-0, 1-0, 1-0, 0-0, 1-0, 1-0, 0-0, 0-0, 0-0

Are the first half scores since an Everton game in April. Just confirmation of what we are all seeing i guess. Tighter at the back, scoring less. Or is that fewer?

Should've realized this a long time ago and brought Darmian in at the start.

        The front 8 is

        Silva - Barkley - Mahrez - Ayew - Payet
        Wilson - Benteke - Vardy

Looking at fixtures, im torn between Vardy vs Stoke or Payet vs City

                Defs are

                Kolarov - Darmian - Sagna

Dont think i will AOA just yet. Think this gonna be a coin toss. Im leaning just a tiny bit towards playing Vardy like you said. City is bit intimidating. Thanks!

I dropped Cedric after watching how awful he was in the Everton game. Haven't watched any more saints games but tempted to bring him back in after 3 cleanies - Saints back to their defensive best? Why has he been getting subbed off towards the end of games is he nailed?

This is my dilemma. Can't decide between Francis/Nyom atm, as Jenk replacement.

the latter imo. I had Sinclair at the start and it was a nightmarish experience - scored 14 points immediately after I sold him (knew it would happen).

I still can't grasp what is happening with Chelsea atm, truly a riddle wrapped inside of an enigma. Same midfield, backline, frontline, manage, & formation. How could this be such a drastic matter? Is it as simplistic as saying "they've been found out"? Have teams so rigorously studied Chelsea over the summer that they've now calculated, & outmaneuvered Jose's tactics with such ease.

I've never seen such poor form from a Jose side, let alone with the talent he has at his disposal. Folks, there is only one explanation for this out-of-this-world phenomena....

Aye, some truly shocking stuff. You these types of drastic shifts in form in the NFL, but god almighty, this rarely happens in football (bar Spain). Could be they are just lazy now too, though it's not like they're grandiose enough to justify their behavior as if they won the CL + FA cup.

They have many young players at their peek right now, & I'm sure Mou keeps them disciplined Extremely uncharacteristic of Mou to lose the dressing room, lose players sure (Ronaldo, Mata), but never the entire team.

        Shite makes no sense.

He's the definition of a short-term manager. He'll come in to a club, set a side up to be hard to beat and instill an us-against-the-world mentality within the squad. Once that mentality starts wearing off though, he has nothing. His formations and tactics are so rigid and predictable that he'll never be able to sustain success for a long period at the same club. Wouldn't be surprised to see him move onto someone like PSG in the summer.

Payet 0 shot vs Leicester, 0 shot Bournemouth, 0 shot vs Liverpool...
I happened when Bilic played him as winger.
Hope he will continue playing in the hole, not the flanks

He's definitely worth keeping if he continues to play like that. He's very much in the NBNC group imo a la Baines in his heydays. Kudos to those who captained hi though.

With Moses there now I'd expect Payet to remain in the hole. It makes holding onto him that much more attractive.

        He was excellend against Arsenal.

Once he settles into the prem we'll see more consistency. What West Ham need is another striker.

Agreed. Sakho just isn't clinical enough. Payet's talent is wasted a bit with such poor finishers.

      this week was something else...

Played the all out attack option. the two defenders I started both Cleanies, the rest all conceded.

Then took a hit to swap Westwood for Payet on a hunch night before.

Result is took out my mini league leader in a head to head by 4 points!!

      This one for the books!

okay.. after the whole morning of mulling over these transfers.. ive come down to this

      Stekelen
Kolorov Darmian Alderweireld ( gomez Oxford )
      Silva Sanchez Mahrez Pedro (westwood)
      Aguero Gomis Wilson

      A) Alderweireld > Nyom & Oxford > Evans
      B) Alderweireld > Nyom & oxford > Francis
      C) Alderweireld > Nyom & save
      D) any other suggestions?

really like the thought of getting rid of oxford. espesh if aguero doesnt play and gomez gets dropped.

      @NABIL

Why are you deciding between Francis/Nyom and not considering a WBA defender? Is it just because the money will allow you to get Tekkers for Pelle?

      1. Shifty
        • 12 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

i think that's the exact situation he's facing. he's got only enough cash for a 4.5 defender.

As he mentioned before, he will not be able to do the transfer if either Tekkers price rise or Pelle price drop. So obviously it is his fund issue to prevent him to get a WBA defender.

If I can jump in on this question Innsie, I was looking to get a WBA defender, then I looked at their underlying stats and it made me question that idea.

I know they are looking good in the stat that matters most - clean sheets - and they have Pulis as manager, which is usually a seal of defensive approval, but I was just wondering what your take on the situation is?

        1. President John F. Keninnsie
          • 12 Years

I haven't looked at the stats tbh Diva, but I'm looking at getting a WBA defender in very soon. I remember last season Doosra was saying how their stats were poor too yet they just kept delivering those clean sheets.

Yes, that tends to be where my thinking is landing too. Despite what the stats say, we know a Pulis defence will be tough to beat. It's one of the few times I may go against the underlying stats.

(I hope that's enough to keep Jafalad's Inquistion from picking me up for questioning! 🙂 )

      Defenders for this GW:

      Kolarov (WHM)
      Lovren (NOR)
      Francis (SUN)
      Dawson (avl)
      Prödl (new)

If I could play all 5 I would, but currently starting the first 3 options. Do y'all agree?

A little. Haven't really noticed a financial saving as I am trying to eat a bit better as well and that always costs more. I always drink to much and I like to drink to much. But I figured my liver could do with some respite. They can heal themselves given time so I though I would let it.

Those 4 points are taking quite a lot of earning. So no. You will often get better answers if you propose a specific transfer. People may say yeas to that whereas nobody wants to take a hit for the sake of it.

Wilson plays for a poor team that is starting to get found out. His goals will dry up sooner rather than later.

Gomis is bang in form so I see little point in removing him.

If price isn't an issue, Kompany due to the pending return of Zabaleta who'll rotate with Sagna.
