As always, we delve into the Gameweek 5 data in our first members article of the week. Arsenal’s midfield and Leicester’s form pair arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over Everton and West Ham’s playmakers after both guided their respective sides to victory.
What to do with Shaw?
I have Kolarov, Souare, Nyom and Francis (Begovic gk).
- City have 3 easy home games next 4, is doubling up an option?
- Not keen on an Arsenal defender with their next two fixtures.
- Dier? Has been brilliant in Spurs last two clean sheets as a def midfielder. (Vertonghen?)
- Like for like? Darmian in? Dont fancy Man Utds fixtures either
- Budget options?I'd get a West Brom defender to leave an attacking spot for a third city attacker
id go dawson or evans if you can... i got darmian but theres going to be 3 weeks in a row coming up where i wont play him after the sunderland game.. im not going to get rid of him but not worth getting in atm.
doubling up with man city is an option.. but what city is it you dont have? a mid or aguero?Cheers. 2 votes for WBA, i might have to consider that. Dawson looks good.
Dont have a mid. Was planning to get Silva with my wc last week, but his injury changed it so i went Sanchez. Now thinking that the range of midfield options (both in the league and at City!) makes it less crucial to have City mid, and that they have the highest potential for CS in the league, so doubling is tempting.
West Brom defender, 13 clean sheets in 23 games under Pulis.
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tony-pulis/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/617/plus/?saison_id=&verein_id=984&liga=&wettbewerb_id=GB1&trainer_id=Thanks. Very impressive that. A shame Brunt isnt listed as a defender, id be all over him
Is the AOA chip is a cunning plan to divert us from all the defender points this season?
I rather have All out Defense chip and play 5-5-0 this season.Haha ... you're about on the money!
Captain's fellow deadzoners?
Sergio
im 50/50 with silva and wilson atm
I may go with mr wilson
Kolorov. Gives me three viable returns: clean sheet, attacking points and bps for either.
Win win win as I see it.Or this
considered this also
I think I'm going Aguero again
Would be a easy choice, but i fear hes going to come out for a Cameo unless city are losing at the break
It is a risk. I'll wait for the pressers. If Pelle comes out and says he's trained all week and fine etc I'll take the risk
Yaya ... time for a differential!
If Aguero is ruled out, Yaya is there for me. But not sure if clever to captain Yaya if Aguero has a chance of starting.
Have I missed something?
Isn't Aguero fit after last night ?
Probably Wilson or Sanchez.
Not sure if Bournemouth are creating enough chances though.Aguero...zzz...
Mahrez
bentekkers
On holiday just now, how were city yesterday? Silva look 100% and was bony any good? Aguero straight back in as lone striker at weekend hopefully!
I though Bony looked out of his depth. Silva, who I have, looked a bit cream crackered towards the end.
Cheers, shows how much city relay on aguero. Bony hasn't done anything
UCL fantasy still not working?
Not opening
Coming soon.
Keep hitting those F5.
Dawson or bellerin for shaw... Not short term
dawson
Dawson imo.
WBA will keep cs all season long-home and away. I believe Cech is the best option for the ARS defence. Damian, Kolorov and Dawson are the three stand outs needed in your defence because you can play all 3 in any week.
would you triple up? I'm definitely doubling soon - not sure about tripling yet.
Would definitely double up if I knew who the other defenders and gk was.
Dawson and McAuley seem nailed on. But would prefer to have a keeper. Already have Dawson.
dawson
West Brom defenders haven't been picking up any bonus points though, whereas Bellerin has and will continue to do so. That's the trouble with West Brom defenders.
But West Broms fixtures are better compared to arsenal. I reckon to get an arsenal def by gw13 tho
For someone who thinks he knows this game I have managed to get in such a mess when considering fundamentals
My Team:
McCarthy Bergovic
Huth Gomez Williams Kolarov Oxford
Chadli Coutinho Mahrez Silva Ayew
Kun Tekkers Wilson
2.1 mil ITB
I have been chasing the ace and what I don't like is:
8 playing forwards and never know who to sub.
No heavyweight mid back up.
Oxford dead wood,Gomez rotation danger, Huth price drop.
2 Keepers that I will have to waste a tfr on
No Arsenal or Man U cover.
3 Liverpool which is good for 2 weeks only.
2.1 ITB and nowhere to spend.
I want Payet but for the life of me I don't know who to tfr out.
Anyone else feel the same?
Someone help me in tydying up over the next 2 GW'sThis week:
Chadli > Westwood and just bench him.
Oxford > Dawson ... or McCarthy > Myhill
Next week Coutinho > Payet
Singing2 good options to settle defense.
i would do Chadli --> Payet for next week.
Probably my plan cheers.
Chadli to Payet.
Gomez I think is worth keeping but you can do Hutu to a nailed 4.5 or even 5 mSimilar to above. Thought of Huth due to price drop.
Huth --> Dawson this week if you really want to transfer Huth then do the Chadli to Payet next week. Cheers!
Huth on my bench anyway. He will probably drop. Is it worth .1 mil?
tackle ur defence first. use the 2.1 to upgrade huth and oxford. payet can wait 2 weeks and sub cout for him if u still want him in 2 weeks, begovic should be ok in goal for good number of games so just fix mcarthy down the line..arenal and man utd cover not needed for at next 6. ur problems arent so bad my friend
Thanks for optimism. Treading water ATM. Everyone agree with defensive issues.
Chadli and Coutinho do nothing for me. Not heavy enough.
Esp as Liverpud and Spuds are playing so poorly.
Chadli for Payet is the obvious trade but you need Dawson, Damian and Sanchez in there at some point. Your team isn't as bad as it seems though.Couts for 2 weeks?
Payet Chadli this week or next?
For sure a man U defender Dawson why? Sanchez obvious at some time.
Cheers for the input.
A) Shaw > XXX for a -4
B) Save and lose some TV and play Nyom (new)B... nyom is a good option
Thanks
Shaw for Vin Diesel seems to be a nice move
but play Nyom..
Wilson captain. Aguero may only have a Cameo and WH are not exactly pushovers atm?
It makes sense ... at least when Aguero hits a hat-trick we'll have his single points anyways 🙂
Not happy benching Ighalo(new) but do I have a choice? 😕
Mahrez(sto) Sanchez(che) Sinclair(WBA) Yaya(WHA) Ayew(EVE)Yes you do, Play Ighalo ahead of Sinclair
This
this
id probably play inghalo over sinclair.. but i guess its a tight call
Bench Sinclair
bench sinclair
I'd bench him. Not sure I see Watford scoring away this gw
Sinclair at home, playing as a fwd and on pens but you still think to bench him?
Against Newcastle as well
play ahead of Sinclair for sure. Derbies don't mean anything to Pulis
Cheers all
A bit off topic but do you guys have any suggestions for a smartphone? I love my 32GB iPhone 4 because it easily fits in my pocket and it's very durable but it's lacking in power. Are these newer phones worth it? I find them to be big and awkward to handle.
Once you go "plus" you don't go back ... i thought i'd hate the iPhone 6+ but it's amazing ... like a little pocket PC and the battery life is pretty good. Also charges in an hour.
That's pretty good. One thing I do hate about the iPhone's is how quickly battery life deteriorates over time
I'm thinking of getting the iPhone 6s+. I love the extra battery power and the OIS for pictures. My only concern is whether it would be comfortable to wear in jeans or other pants. I usually have my phone in my front pocket. I saw a guy at the mall today with the 6+ but he had to put it in his back pocket which I'm not big on doing.
That's the one downside ... is an absolute ball-ache (literally) to carry around.
Bum-bags / fanny-packs could be the answer 🙂I'll bring the fanny pack back 😎
I work for a mobile phone company. If you love your sports then definitely get a smart phone. Try a android phone
All the newer iPhones have dreadful battery life! Good phones though.
Considered the Samsung Galaxies? they've had positive reviewsThe Samsung Galaxy looks great but it has one of the worst batteries for the newer generation of smartphones despite it's wireless charging and fast charging. Unfortunately there is no perfect phone at the moment. Imagine an iPhone that's scratch/waterproof resistant, with 3000 mAH battery that's removable and external memory.
love the iphone 6... runs smoothly and awesome battery life. hated the 4.
6+ is too big for me.... the 6 i feel is the perfect size
Check out the Moto X (G is the cheaper variant) or Nexus 6. Loads of decent reviews on YouTube.
I'd recommend checking out the Sony Xperia z3 Compact phones.
Waterproof, perfect size if you don't want a semi-tablet in your pocket, great camera, external memory card slot, and fast & responsive with good battery life.
I'd stay clear of the Samsung phones. In my line of work I use quite a lot of different phones, and the z3 compact is a clear favourite. I lost one, bought a new one, managed to break that one by my own stupidity, and still got the same phone.

Sakho > Diouf? or any other max 6.7 forwardYou have Wilson?
yes
sorry i didn't mention this
I can also do Hazard + Sakho > Coutinho/Mata + Benteke for a hit if its better
Why do you want rid of Sakho?
Last night Bemba Da was on here saying Pedro was injured.. i then fell asleep and just woke up. Was there any truth to that in the end?
I asked the same on previous page...minor thigh injury apparently. Should be ok for the weekend
can only play 3 out of these 4 in ufpl who would u bench: gomis wilson aguero ighalo
lol didnt mean to reply soz
Rumours ... but tonight's selection for the CL game will straighten that out. Let's hope for an honest Mou presser!
Only you know whether you really fell asleep and then woke up 😉
some fella posted earlier about a minor muscular injury...but all my search attempts seem to only idicate Falcao had a minor muscular injury.
Trolling as usual i believe.Thansk all!
How was YYT yesterday?
he was alright... Fernandinho actually looked more impressive
He's hit his straps this season ... good for City to have that extra solid midfielder!
agreed.. i think his been playing a real big part
whats everyones rank and SV atm guys? Happy or not with your team atm?

Have Kolarov, Ward, Shaw,Targett, Gomez
1FT 0.5 ITBI guess Kolarov?
Already have him
Dawson or Damian.
Firminho a good diffential for the next 2? Or just get Coutinho?
nope.. hasnt impressed at all in any way
why not.. capable of a hat so cant be bad
Couthino maybe.
I may go there for next two, wait and see though.I'd steer clear of both tbh. But it's definitely Coutinho over Firmino if you must.
Do you play fantasy football or just regular football?? Firm as fantasy prospect, not for me
Thanks everyone for the input!
No-monitor for now. Coutinho isn't heavy enough and Liverpud are still kak.
Rodgers plays him RW 🙁
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/112/event-history/5/
For those interested Forza team. Also going bad, like all of us. Around 2m rank. Also FPL ID rank of 112 so he is still lurking and an addict. No FFA, doesn't mean no FPL obviously.
Cheers Forza, we miss u, we lav u 🙂*No FFS
Come back Forza ... I really do miss him around here. Always a laugh.
PLEAZZZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEEEEEE?It's Jonty call . .. I also like him back. I am sure they can bury hutches
Was he banned was he?? I don't know the back story that much ... just know he got banned or spat the dummy one day and was never seen again!
... 3, 2, 1
I didn't watch City last night (or United actually)
Any feedback on...
Silva ?
KDB ?
Or that clown Memphis ?
BIG Midfield decisions to make this week 🙄Also on YYT if possible
I have Yaya, may get rid for one of the above (not Memphis)
Seriously Evs? I was thinking of captaining him this week.
Who Yaya ?
Thought Silvs or Kev would be a better city MF option. I have x2 FTI'd love to see Kevin nail some attacking points first ... although when he does it's going to be THE bandwagon. I've had the WORST (c) choices all year and just think a gut-instinct on this would be refreshing!
Cue Aguero brace!
Why get rid?
Depay had some good moments, but generally he wasn't great.
-best city mid was fernandinho by a long shot defensively and even offensively.. took quality shots.. nearly scored
-Sterling got into dangerous positions and forced 2 good saves.
-both sterling opportunities were set up by silva.. looked his usual self but juve wasnt letting him have any space.
-KDB didnt have much of an influence at all.
-Toure was okay.. nearly scored a beauty but apart from that i wouldnt say anything special. he went head to head with pogba pretty much.Oh and another thing you may be interested in... Kolorov kinda struggled against Cuadadro - didnt really do much attacking at all
Silva + YYT : Will probably continue to boss it in the league. Europe is just a different matter as English football on a whole is just behind. City had no idea how to deal with Juve's pressing for example, which meant less time on the ball than their twinkle-toed MIDs are used to.
Memphis : IF Martial does continue to play, he could finally open his account in the league. I don't think United fully recovered from Shaw's injury but the interplay between Memphis & Martial is promising. Hell, any one who plays up top for United and actually makes decent runs is a huge improvement.Silva was good, Memphis was good only for the first half...Martial looked good throughout the match, Young was also good...
I actually think Sterling is gonna be the City mid to get.. Had the best goal scoring chances of teh game while Silva created the best chances. I always prefer the goal scorer. The rest looked meh.. KDB came on for Sterling and City struggled to get width. Can see Sterling being nailed on if that's a worry about him
I swapped Silva out for Ayew last weekend due to Silva's injury.
Now planning on keeping Ayew and swapping either of the two for Silva.
A. Sanchez to Silva
B. Pedro to Silva
A or B?
Urgent help neededB
^Inclined to agree with this.
b
B. Perdro's wide position worries me.

Predictions for Villa v WBA? Who's more likely to keep a clean sheet? Start both Richards and Dawson?
It could well be 0-0 ... but i'd plump for the home team on this occassion.
Local derby so 2-2, 1-1 more likely. Hard to see a winner tbh. WBA could easily sneak a 1-0 win just as AVL a 2-1 win. Draw for me.
WBA more likely for the CS but I'm predicting a 0-0
Legend says Pedro does not rise or fall
He vanished into mid table obscurity.
I can't wait to get rid of Muniesa on my WC in a few weeks, Stoke are posting some awful numbers in defence: http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/public-stats-tables/view/10340/
I honestly thought we gave up Stoke as a defensive option after last season. Only reason Butland made sense was he was : 1. Cheap
2. (Potential) Save PointsI saw all the hype of the Butland/ Schmeichel keeper rotation and decided it fit my team better to get defenders Muniesa/ Huth rotating instead as I wanted Myhill as my GK. At least Myhill worked out I guess.
Well, I am speaking with hindsight firmly in my favour. Tough luck with that combo.
I do agree (& approve) you getting rid as soon as you can.Cheers, I think I might begrudgingly start him in a few of the upcoming good fixtures but he's going for sure on my wildcard in week 11.
williams > Dawson?
Why?
Finally made it into the top 800K! Sigh..
Benching Hoolahan & Payet after this week :/
Fabianski
Sagna | Shaw | Gomez | Richards
Sanchez | Mahrez | KDB
Aguero | Gomis | Diouf
McCarthy | Payet | Hoolahan | Huth |
2FT 0.6 ITB
If Aguero confirmed injured. Shaw > Kolarov, Aguero > ?Kolarov is essential
To get Kolarov I need to lose one of Aguero, KDB or Sagna
Keep Aguero.
Get rid of Sagna or downgrade KDB to Yaya/Sterling
I'd bench Richards and take a punt playing one of Payet or Hoolahan tbh. Sherwood will approach peak Sherwood by somehow making Rondon look like the next must have FWD... IMO.
Aguero came off the bench last night.. Shaw to Kolarov and you are set
I have 3 City players already. Aguero, KDB, Sagna
Benteke for 2 weeks?
Shaw->Kolorov is a no brainer.
Just the one trade needed - play 352 if kun is crocked and bench.See above. Already have 3 city players.
Kompany just tweeted something about focussing on West Ham now post CL...if that means anything to anybody about his supposed injury!
He's club captain so you'd expect him to say that even if he was out for the season. He's probably saying it to divert attention from the fact that they lost in the UCL again
Hi guys. I've played my WC last night and made this team while half asleep. Any non-slumber induced suggestions?
Cech de gea
Sagna cedric kol mert target
Pedro mahrez depay yaya caz
Tekkers vardy Wilson
1.8 ITBCech DeGea. Choose one.
this
1) no need for 2 expense keepes
2) Targett likely to lose his place soon
3) Mert is injured
4) Pedro is injured
5) Needs Aguero and Sanchez
Morning DZ, couple of questions for you:
1) Shaw -> Kolarov/Clyne/Skrtel?
- planning a GW8 WC so tempted with a LIV defender given the fixtures and potentially no Kompany.
2) Targett or Bellerin to the bench?
- head says Bellerin, but he has looked great so far.
Ruddy
Bellerin, Targett
Sanchez, Silva, Mane, Mahrez, Sinclair
Aguero, Benteke, Wilson
Rudd, Huth, Coates, Shaw
Bank 0.5m, 1FTShaw to Kolarov
Morning,
