What makes a โ€œcasualโ€ ScoutCast host? Perhaps one who takes to his bed even after a table topping 60-point return?

Despite bringing in his biggest haul of the season, leaving both Jonty and myself in his wake, Granvilleโ€™s man-flu gets the better of him. Not to worry, Luke, aka โ€œD1sableโ€, drops in to fill his evening slippers, helping steading the ScoutCast ship as we prepare to cross the choppy waters of another community fueled episode.

Luke and I look on enviously while Jonty gets dewy eyed about Dimiti Payetโ€™s Monday night returns, before we switch attention to the fortunes of the Fantasy Football Scout crowd, scanning their Gameweek tallies in another bout of โ€œRough with the Smoothโ€, which this week includes a precautionary tail of a Fantasy Football rage injury.

We round off, as always, with another bout of community questions, assessing the lure of the five-man midfield, strikers and their desperate quest for bonus points, the great “casual” debate, whilst entertaining the idea of making Kolarov our captain. The season could hardly be more bizarre.

This episode was broadcast live via Google Hangouts on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night (before the Pedro news). Be sure to subscribe to our channel to get alerts on new episodes.

You can watch the Hangout broadcast via the larger player below. If you prefer the refined and edited audio version, youโ€™ll need this link or the smaller player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So is everyone agreed that Ayew is a better 1/2 week Pedro replace than Coutinho, given I have Benteke and no other Swans?
[have 2 free so if lose the trade anyway]

I like where our friend Leaf down there is thinking with Oscar. I am also high on Walcott right now. Other than Liverpool no one really has two really great fixtures back to back that I can tell. I'd rather have Ayew than Coutinho, though. He is still a very solid pick I suppose ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm not this week because of Shaw, but I am leaning towards WCing next week and I will definitely bring him in if I do. Otherwise I will probably have to wait another week to save and get him in on a double switch.

Ive toyed with bringing him in... the think thats stopped me is the fact that there will be times he comes on for 10-20 min cameos - which is where id prefer he never came on at all so sinclair could come off my bench

            1. Walsh
              • 12 Years
              10 years, 4 months ago

Could happen, but I've never felt Giroud is more rooted to the bench than right now. I have faith that Feo will keep scoring with his starts and he might finally cement himself. A risk, but one worth taking for me ๐Ÿ™‚

If theo plays i think he scores. Its just the fact that he doesnt suite that cf role against alot of teams especially when they are defending deep. I dont feel his a player that should be on the bench though. And giroud sucks

Hi DZ, I've got 1 FT and 4.3M ITB. Should I shift Mané for Silva or KDB or sort out Coates?

    Butland, Ruddy
    Kolarov, Cedric, Francis, Huth, Coates
    Sanchez, Mane, Ayew, Mahrez, Sinclair
    Aguero, Gomis, Wilson

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years

I'd do it on Coates so you can bench Cedric. That or save and start Cedric. Depends on how you feel about his chances at home to United I think.

Thanks. I don't feel too bad about Cedric given his assist threat and Utd's currently turgid style of play. But I do feel like my defence is a bit light so now seems like as good a time as any - will probably go for a WBA defender.

I guess bench Payet. I'd rather sort it out so you don't have this type of problem each week tho.

Cheers Walsh, i'm leaning the same.. Plan is to rotate between 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 (fixtures work out well) until wild carding around GW10. Then yes, it's back to a 4.5 mid

I am also not against playing the chip at all. I think it's pretty useless, but not sure who your 3rd defender is. But if you are going to keep that lot for a couple more weeks you could probably find a better time to use it.

You make a good point, AOA is the weakest chip. My defenders...

            Kolorov, Cedric, RIchards, Francis, Nyom

Maybe play AOA with Kolo and RIchards?

thoughts on the bench selection? tempted to bench Darmian on the basis Rojo might start at CB and I think it's too early for that (and breaks up a good Blind-Smalling partnership)..just not sure Gomez will start even haha

    .................Butland
    ....Richards - Gomez - Kolarov
    Payet - Mahrez - Sanchez - Silva
    ......Aguero - Gomis - Wilson

    McCarthy; Sinclair, Darmian, Williams

    1. Walsh

Hopefully KDB/Navas and Sterling can give width but if Silva is out... It better not be 442. City need to go 4231 and make the width to get anything from this game.

I'm not certain, but I'm hopeful. KDB can slot in for Navas on the wing. Perhaps an easier way to fit in and get to know his teammates than being central where Silva is clearly a boss. That said, KDB is a very exciting player and I can't wait to see more of him.

I don't know about that, but I do put it on the first Attacking notch because it helps get the fullbacks into the game more

Attacking + Possession play (because I don't really tinker with Custom tactics for online)

Prodl, Evans (I like a bit of risk), Cresswell, Souare.

Cresswell is expensive for a mid table team, may be Bellerin

form is form. Arsenal don't have it, West Ham do.

            also Cresswell on set pieces.

He took only that free kick and side netted. Most set pieces are taken by Payet now

Cresswell is a decent option, imo. Can contribute in attack also.

Too early for Barkley still, isn't it?

Perhaps, but I'm not as big on fixtures as some other FPL managers may be. They don't seem to hold the same weight as they used to, in my opinion. He's done well so far and is potentially finally starting to show signs that he can live up to the expectations.

Don't mind it, but I'd rather do Ramsey to Walcott.
