Tottenham welcome Crystal Palace to White Hart Lane in Sunday’s early kick-off. Spurs recorded their first win of the campaign last time out against Sunderland but will face a stern examination in front of their own fans with the Eagles arriving having won both their previous road ties.

Before the weekend, Spurs ranked fourth for shots on target (27) and joint-second for big chances (12) yet have just four goals to show for their efforts – drawing attention to their poor finishing. Back-to-back clean sheets for Mauricio Pochettino’s troops show their improvement at the back, but they’re still yet to taste victory at home this term and have chalked up just two shut-outs in their last 11 match-ups at the Lane.

Prior to Saturday’s matches, no side had conceded more shots inside the box (58) than Palace this season, but it’s important to note than Alan Pardew’s outfit have already faced off against the like of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. On the attacking front, Palace rank in the top six for big chances (10) and shots on target (24). Only a trio of clubs (Man City, Leicester and West Ham – 11) boasted a superior goal output to the Eagles (eight) going into this Gameweek, ensuring that Spurs’ rearguard are in for a testing afternoon.

He should be nailed for the rest of the season, to be honest.

Terry's legs have gone and he's now a liability for that defence. Not Terry's fault, Father Time is the one opponent even the greatest players can't beat.

I asked this earlier and got some interesting replies.

With 2FT this week. How about Sanchez and Coutinho ----> Hazard and Payet swap. Sounds terrible at first so I'd like to explain my thoughts for those interested.

    Reasons for:

    1) Sanchez not bringing home the bacon yet

    2) Already have Tekkers for Liverpool coverage

    3) Currently I have no Chelsea coverage for Newcastle (who look dreadful) game next week

    4) Hazard is just as likely to find form as Sanchez is next week and may be back on pens

    5) Payet is on form and playing Norwich, Sunderland ad Palace in the next 3

    6) Chelsea have better fixtures than Arsenal

    -

    Reasons against:

    1) Sanchez is due and has been playing well when you look at his stats.

    2) Coutinho has great fixtures

    3) Hazard has not hit anything like the form he showed last season

    4) Payet and West Ham's good form could come to an end (daft reason this)

    1. Gamst - Up (?) the Rovers
      • 15 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

Form ends and Sanchez is due are equally daft reasons.

    2. Pochecinno
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

My first impression is that those moves are great and that is backed up by reasons given.

      Reasons against:

      1) 'Is due' is meh of a reason
      2) WHU and Chelsea fixtures are better
      3) Chelseas early season ghost was a confidence thing. Mourinho was touchy. That has definitely changed this week
      4) like you said: daft reason

    3. Van Klinkert Delarosa
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

I can see that you are scrapping the barrel to list down the reasoning.

If you felt right, just do it.

id hold coutinho for his home fixture against villa. maybe just Sanchez > Payet,Hazard then do the second transfer next week if you still fancy it

Both Hazard and Payet have lovely fixtures next week though and hopefully Tekkers will be enough 'pool cover.

Will all depend on how the rest of today's games go though I suppose.

      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I don't think 'is due' is that daft if its based on stats. Sanchez has been very unlucky not to have been in the points already. Hitting the post, lots of shots, touches in the box etc. All this makes a player more 'due' than just saying the word 'due' becuse of their name.

Your reasons for are logical but you have not factored in Pedro he will split Hazzards points imo

Its £11.3m vs £9.5m and Pedro might well out score him

I can always downgrade (money wise) from Haz to Pedro and put the savings elsewhere next time I have 2FT...while I have the money might as well take Hazard.

he will unless he has a ridiculous dip in form. Can see him starting next season at 7.5/8

I mean look at Kane this season.

True, so sad how they ruined Kane as an option. Mané too.
