Gameweek 6 is rounded off with a pair of tea-time encounters. Liverpool host Norwich City in the wake of successive defeats, while Southampton duke it out with Manchester United at St Mary’s Stadium.

Only Newcastle (two) have tallied fewer goals than the Reds (three) this campaign, yet the Canaries’ visit could be the perfect antidote for their impotence, given that they’ve rattled 21 goals past the Norfolk outfit in their past five meetings – albeit largely due to the influence of the departed Luis Suarez. At the back, Liverpool have shipped six goals in their previous two outings so need to turn out a diligence performance at Anfield to renew our confidence in their defensive recruits.

Norwich rank in the top four with regards to goals (eight) and big chances (11) this season, illustrating the budget potential of their attacking assets. Alex Neil will be keen to tighten up at the back, however, considering that his charges place joint-third for goals conceded (nine) and joint-fourth for big chances conceded (nine). The fact that Norwich are yet to register a clean sheet will serve as motivation for Liverpool’s misfiring forward line.

Southampton go into the meeting with United desperate for three points having recorded just two wins in their last eleven league outings. Goals are the main issue for Ronald Koeman’s men having blanked in the last four: the Saints have converted just 6% of their on their attempts on goal. Defensively, however, Southampton are in the ascendency, having claimed three consecutive shut-outs – only Man City have allowed fewer shots in the box than Koeman’s defence thus far.

Manchester United will need to find a cutting edge to break the Saints’ resistance, having found three goals against Liverpool last weekend to double their league tally. Louis van Gaal’s side have dominated possession in matches, without carving out gilt-edged opportunities. Indeed, with just five big chances to their name, only West Brom and Newcastle have proved less potent in that respect.

He is out of my team for Ighalo. Think Bojan will start next week regardless of Dioufs status. 70 points this gw after Ritchie C and bench boost activated. Sorry thing is that all of my bench would have come on anyways. Bench boost wasted...

This season just won't get going for me.

Looking good to win my head to head this week until Darmian and Benteke off at half time. pelle late goal made things close only to relise Moreno 3rd sub coming on for Silva. The 3 bps he getting are going to hand victory to my rival. That is crazy.

Who should I transfer Benteke to?

Martial is a decent choice, but next six games aren't the best. I am aware it is Man U so can beat most teams, but with Arsenal and City coming up rather skip him.

Thoughts on who to replace him with?

I'm sure Martial is class. But ManU isn't and I'm sure that Martial will not be able to keep this rate up, not unless ManU starts to create A LOT more shots.

Martial's per 90 goals is massive 2.3. But his per 90 shots is just a decent 3.1. His conversion rate is unbelievable 75%. In fact, the only shot he has missed was the only one he took out the box. He's converted EVERY SINGLE SHOT he's taken inside the box. Those he has Even if he was an absolutely outstanding finisher, this would come down to ~25%. So, to get those 3 goals, he would have to get around 12 shots even if he was absolutely fantastic striker. But at his rate of 2.34 shots inside the box per 90, he'll need about 5 matches to get that. Ok, 3 goals in every 5 matches from a 8.0 striker, I take that any day, but this is on a presumption that he can keep up a significantly high rate. If you suppose that he'll finish the season with that rate, you have to take into account that he's already scored 3/3 SiB, so, his rate will drop under his all season average for some.

I'm not saying he's a bad buy, jut warning that his conversion rate is outrageously perfect.

...and that there's no sign that ManU would start to produce a higher number of shots anytime soon.
