Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Christian Benteke, Dejan Lovren and Roberto Firmino are all ruled out of Liverpool’s home encounter with Villa this weekend. Lovren is out for a few weeks with ankle ligament damage, whilst Firmino “may have cracked something in his back”. The Reds boss has also conceded “there is no timeline” on Benteke’s return from a hamstring injury.
Francis Coquelin has been ruled out of Arsenal’s trip to Leicester with a knee problem. The Gunners are awaiting the FA’s verdict on Gabriel’s improper conduct charge later today.
West Brom stopper Ben Foster has suffered a setback in his battle to overcome a knee injury, with Tony Pulis suggesting that Foster is now expected to return around Christmas time.
The weekend will again come too soon for Tommy Elphick, with Eddie Howe confirming the Cherries defender has failed to recover from the ankle problem which saw him miss out against Sunderland. Elphick joins Harry Arter on the sidelines, with the latter still unavailable due to a groin injury.
Ronald Koeman has allayed fears over Graziano Pelle, revealing that the Italian is available for the weekend after recovering from a foot injury. The Saints boss will also make a late decision on whether to start Ryan Bertrand against the Swans, stressing that the left-back needs games now he has returned from injury. Elsewhere Jordy Clasie is back in full training, though the weekend will come too soon for the summer signing.
Garry Monk has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the Swans’ trip to St Mary’s.
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has no new injury concerns ahead of the meeting with Arsenal. The Foxes are still without Nathan Dyer, though, with the winger still not 100% fit after suffering a blow to the knee against Aston Villa.
Slaven Bilic has revealed that there are a few knocks to assess in the Hammers camp ahead of the visit of the Canaries, though adds that they isn’t anything “major or serious” .
Louis van Gaal has more worries at left-back, after Marcos Rojo was ruled out of United’s home clash against Sunderland due to a hamstring injury.
Watford veteran Lloyd Doyley stepped up his recovery with a run out for the reserves yesterday. He was also joined by new signing Mamadou Oulare, who improved his match fitness with a 90-minute appearance. Hornets boss Quick Sanchez Flores reckons Adlene Guedioura, Steven Berghuis and Nathan Ake are “close to being ready for the starting XI”.
