The Dugout Discussion – Watford versus Crystal Palace

There’s just the one Premier League fixture for Fantasy managers to monitor over their Sunday lunches, with Watford welcoming Crystal Palace to Vicarage Road.

It’s a tale of two sides with conflicting form: the Hornets are riding high after back-to-back victories, while the Eagles’ wings have been clipped by successive defeats.

Watford rank third-bottom for goals conceded (five) and big chances conceded (five), illustrating their diligence at the back. Moreover, they are the only side in the league that are yet to concede a home goal this campaign. The Hornets have added a sting to their defensive resolve in recent Gameweeks, too, recording wins over Swansea and Newcastle.

The Eagles amassed eight goals through the opening four Gameweeks but have registered consecutive blanks since then. Also of concern to Alan Pardew is the fact that Palace have conceded more shots inside the box (66) than any team in the league. That being said, they rank sixth for big chances (10) and shots on target (28), which should ensure that Watford’s back line are in for a testing afternoon.

      Cisse is dreadful and not a threat at all. Perez should be starting in behind Mitrovic, but I eouldnt want him. Clever player, but not a natural goal scorer.

      Funny you says this because I was speaking to quite a few Newcastle fans at my university and they reckon Cisse's days are over as Perez is much more preferred. (Cisse is utter shite now according to the Geordie s.)

          The problem is I also own Shaqiri. If I get Ighalo instead of Vardy then I can get Sterling over someone like Cabaye, Barkley etc.

            He's a forward though! So far this season, Ramsey has scored at 3.14 ppg while Pedro has 3.4. This is despite Ramsey not getting any goals/assists yet.

    For a Wilson replacement, 5 of the next 6 fixtures:

    Norwich (h), Sunderland (a), Stoke (h), Bournemouth (a), Leicester (h)

    Could do worse than a Newcastle punt! I know Vardy is pretty good right now though.
