West Bromwich Albion and Everton look to send off Gameweek 7 in style as they do battle at The Hawthorns this evening. Recent form would suggest that this match-up will be a tightly contested affair, considering that the two sides have conceded just one goal between them in the last trio of Gameweeks.

The Tony Pulis effect is in full motion for the Baggies, as evidenced by their four clean sheets in five league outings. However, the West Midlanders haven’t fared as well at the other end of the pitch, ranking second-bottom for goals scored (four). Only one side (Newcastle, with 19) has carded fewer shots on target than West Brom’s 20, which will be music to the ears of Fantasy managers holding Everton defenders.

Although the Toffees have earned just one victory in their previous four matches, Roberto Martinez’s men endured the toughest start of any league outfit. The Merseysiders have excelled outside of Goodison Park and – like West Brom – are yet to concede a single goal on their travels. That being said, the hosts will be optimistic of breaching Everton’s defence, given that the visitors have afforded their opponents 49 attempts (31 in the box ) in three road trips already.

Anyone seen Swansea play lately? What's the story of Ayew, worth keeping?

And then Newcastle and Ayoze, not nailed on yet, but could be good prospect gw9 => ?

    Yaya - Courtinho - Pedro - Mahrez - (5.4)

Who should fill this 5.4 gap?

I really am a fan of West Brom's rigid defensive shape, very well organised. Everyone knows their role. Top stuff, classic Pulis..

I don't understand why other teams can't do it. Like do they forget what Pulis told them to do when he leaves? Why not just keep doing it?

It's probably more to do with the roles that the midfielders play, Pulis has the whole team pulling weight defensively, whereas other managers will give their wingers etc more freedom to attack, giving the back four less protection.

I really want West Brom to concede (so many have myhill and WBA defence) but I just can't seem to see Everton breaking that defence down. WBA are probably the most organized team I've seen in the prem this season.

Actually the Everton defence has higher ownership. Dawson is Highest on 1.9% vs Jagielka on 17.4%.

Myhill has 84% whilst Howard is on 7.2%. So that's higher.

Fair enough, good stats. The guy at the top of my league has myhill so I need Everton to score.

Yeah, I have nobody in this game, so it's no fun at all. I somehow stumbled into the top 10k over the weekend, and now I'm just waiting to fall straight back out again, once the West Brom cleanie points get added. Fun while it lasted...

Yacob is very underrated in my opinion. He's positively affected more games than most people realise. The way he solidifies that defence by just sitting in front of them requires alot of concentration and stamina. Works well in this tactic.

If I hadn't watched the game, I might have. He is that guy you play pick-up with who never runs and stands on the edge of the box waiting to receive the ball and just takes a wild shot over the goal every single time.

I don't like him. Watched him all 90 mins the last two games -- he is barely on the screen when Chelsea have the ball in the box. Needed to free up funds to transfer in Martial from Wilson.

Very true. I guess 9.5 was too much to pay for somewhere with such limited options. I think is closer to Navas than Hazard/Mata/Coutinho/Silva as far as fantasy goes.
