Our first members article of the international break arrives this afternoon. Assessing the players by classification across the last four Gameweeks, we look at the impact made by Southampton and City’s new centre-halves, Newcastle’s raiding right-back and Palace’s big Norwegian as Alan Pardew’s defence starts to tighten up.
I'd do Martial -> Pelle and keep the team as is, how have you had Kompany for so long?!
I've not had him that long, brought him in to be different by doubling up GW 5 and each weeks (barring last week) it's looked like he could/would start.
ahh unlucky
I got rid of Pedro for Mane this week
Interesting, another option for sure. Same thing holding me back with Wally though; no City mids.
Pedro to Walcott seems nice.
Chelsea are a mess...As below, no other way of getting KDB who I think will score better than Walcott.
Bertrand is a good option, but I do feel you need Mane or Pelle more than KDB
Interesting. Pelle tempts me, I had him at the start of the season but sold him because I thought his goal scoring streak had ended. Mane is a decent shout too but I'm not sure about either being more important tha KDB.
Well defence isn't that important this season imo.
Last week my back 5 got 8 points, my front 6 got 101
Since you have Vardy, I'd be tempted to do Mahrez to Mane
Evening
If Kompany is out, I'd go for the former transfer. If he's fit, then Pedro to Walcott looks good. Or you could just hope Pedro scores well against Villa and carry over a transfer to get KDB the following week. Thanks, reasonable options.
I'd like 3 City for Bournemouth so I'll either keep Kompany, or sell him and bring in KDB for a hit.
I like those proposed moves for -4
Thanks, that's what's been pencilled in since the weekend.
Thanks for the responses all.
Forgot to mention that Westwood is my 5th mid, not that it matters much!I think KBD is essential, so I would take the hit.
Am I ok for this week?
FT done, but defence looking very shaky........
Butland/Ruddy
Kolarov Evans Huth
Sanchez Mahrez Mane Payet Ayew
Aguero Pelle
Diouf Richards GomezFantastic team
I like it. Nice team
G2G for this week. I'd be looking at shifting a defender soon though.
Thanks, yes, looking ropey and not much to upgrade Gomez/Huth/Evans
Yeah, nice.
Yup, top team.
Great team. I'd like a City mid in there - but not sure you can drop any of your current so fair-dos.
your defence is looking better than mine...Muniesa to (have 5,1 to spend):
a) Janmaat
b) Gabriel
c) Cedric
Any other i must consider?reply fail
I must say this team looks really great! Kolarov and Evans will help Huth which ain't too bad.
Thanks all
Very helpful
I know its early but gtg for next week? Thanks in advance
DDG
Kolarov Cedric Souare
Sanchez De Bruyne Payet Mahrez
Martial Kun Ighalo
Butland Huth Cathcart WatsonDecent. No Southampton attack though. Martial and Watson -> Mane and Vardy
So I scored 127 last week and my team is in pretty good shape. The thing is I kinda want Walcott but there is no appealing way to do it. Should I just live without him?
yes
if you've got Sanchez, i personally think you can live without
This, for the meantime.
Yes I have Sanchez. Thinking my only real route is to trade in Ayew and Mahrez for Walcott and a cheapie but that dosnt seem sensible right now.
Do you have Vardy to cover Leicester? If so I'd consider Mahrez to Theo for sure
yes you dont need such a punt-he's not even cheap
Best move here (providing no injuries)?
A) Martial -> Pelle (and play Richards)
B) Richards -> Souaré
C) Save FTA)
B for me.
A
I'll go with B
A or C
A
A or C. Villa doesn't leak a lot to my surprise..
They've only had 1 clean sheet though, tbf.
Interesting, cheers folks. Still no fecking clue 🙂
Plenty of new entries this evening in LMS 🙂
Do you actually go through the entire league and remove people manually? That seems a lot of work!
After each GW, the teams that don't make the cut gets removed. Andy helps removing teams when he has the time. Already 1400 removed this season.
ahh, thats some good work
There should be a cut off date for entering.
It's January. Plenty of new folk just FFS after the season starts.

What to do with Gomis and Sterling ? Got 0.5m itb and 1FT
Team
Fabianski
Kolarov Cresswell Morgan
Sanchez Mata Sterling Mahrez
Aguero Vardy Gomis
Bench Kean,Nyom,Gomez,MutchKDB and Ighalo
Sterling needs to go. Gomis can wait.
Thinking Walcott.
I'd swap Gomis for ighalo and then swap sterling for KDB, Silva or Hazard. Personally do KDB and then switch for hazard when they get going
Take out Sterling first and you can have Mane.
What if Sterling starts ?
What if Navas substituted Sterling at 46' again?
Just wondering whether I can save a ft transfers with this side this week but I will give some alternative options:
Butland (McCarthy)
Kolorov, Williams, Zouma (Richards, Gomez)
Sanchez, Silva, Payet, Mahrez, Redmond
Aguero (c), Vardy (Diouf)
I was going to sell Zouma for Bellerin/Dawson but surely he will start & surely they can keep a cs v Villa.
No attacking Soton is a worry but it would require hits to get Mane/Pelle in.
I could always use a ft on Richards/Gomez on Souare/Ward.
Thoughts & thankssave FT
I'd definitely hold Zouma - I really can't see him not starting after that Soton showing. Only concern is, you only have Richards as an active sub so any doubts going into GW9 will cause you a problem. As I mentioned, earlier, Diouf is unlikely to figure I'd say after his mother's death.
My defence:
Myhill / McCarthy
Kolarov, Darmian, Nyom, Muniesa*, Gomez*
Which two defenders do you prefer (Muniesa & Gomez replacement):
A) Alderweireld/B.Davies
B) Bellerin
C) Williams/Naughton
D) Souare
E) Janmaat
F) BertrandB and F
Though that would leave your defence very heavy at the back no, if you get those for Gomez and Muniesayes very heavy but are there really better options for a cheaper price ?
B
FAlderweireld + Bellerin
Bellerin and Bertrand
Definitely B, and probably F.
B & F
wow, so many replies 😀
thanks all !B & C.
Muniesa to (have 5,1 to spend):
a) Janmaat
b) Gabriel
c) Cedric
Any other i must consider?Cedric out of those.
Thanks
lots of decent choices out there. You could spend 4.5m on Ben davies. It's a steal in my opinion. The obvious choice would be Dawson or Dann. Other choices include Souare.
Thanks. Allready have Dawson and Ward. But the Ben Davis shout was nice, I'll keep him in mind.
I might get Janmaat, but I don't see it as a long term move.
I had Janmaat lined up - fixtures are strong and it's not like reliable clean sheets are available anywhere else. His knee injury is a concern but hoping it's a phantom int break job.
Yeah, a sound plan. I just think I will twitch him back out pretty quick if he gets a string of 1s and 0s.
It's really only possible because of a lack of options elswhere. West Brom's current state has removed that option and I can't stretch to Bellerin at the mo.
Sounds like Klopp will be announced tomorrow
Hopefully a presser on Friday.
Today I read a wicked article from a bundesliga and dortmund 'expert'. Cant remember where i read it but it was very very promising.
If you come across it again, post the link please
Will do. The jist is that while he acknowledges mistakes that Klopp made last season, he thinks liverpools squad is good enough for him to do really well.
Also says Bender is possible but Micky and Reus unlikely
Key thing is that Buvac is coming with him. Highly thought of. No more ODriscolls and Pascoes
That's what I'm hearing as well
Will we see a clip of Klopp?
Yeah yea, calm down your tities.
Hi Reus. You coming in January?
Yup to Manchester apparentely
With Klopp. (Twitter 2013)
*titties
tik klopp, tik klopp
I don't like Liverpool but I'm glad Klopp is hitting the PL
The adventures of Klopp and the Kop
Good stuff for Pool. Love Jürgen and have wanted him in charge of United since Fergie left.
If you had to guess, how do you think Liverpool will line up?
Well I reckon Emre Can, Firmino and Coutinho will be biggest benefits of Klopp.
Can because it's possible he won't be played out of position, obviously. And Firmino because Klopp will be a big fan I imagine after his seasons in the Bundesliga, and will know how to use him unlike Rodgers. I don't think I recall Brendan starting him once in an interchanging front 3 system that suits him...
On the lineup, I'd guess a three man midfield, with Firmino/Coutinho free roles.I read today that Brendan only agreed to the committee signing of Firmino if he could then get Benteke. Im so sick of players being played OOP. Although i dont rate Van Gaal too much i do think he is brilliant to watch infront of the cameras. Thats something that im looking forward to with Klopp
Mignolet
Clyne Skrtle Sakho Moreno
Can Milner
Firminho Sturridge Coutinho
Benteke
Hendo for Can when back imoId swap Sturridge and firmino around in that line up but that looks about right
Disagree. I think it looks awful, and it's a similar setup to what Rodgers would field. 😛 Klopp will probably prefer three midfielders, as that's a common preference among German teams/managers.
And Firmino isn't a classic #10 midfielder like most seem to think - he is much more of a forward player than that. Firmino is best suited to an inter-changing, free-flowing forward line, like at Hoffenheim where he would frequently alternate positions with Kevin Volland.
Henderson, Can/Lucas, Milner/Can
---------Coutinho, Firmino
--------------Sturridge
Something like that. IMO...Im only going on the 4-5-1 that i keep reading Klopp prefers lol. You dont think Benteke will be a starter?
Everything is guesswork tbh. He may, as Sturridge isn't a focal point is he. I just feel three midfielders is highly likely.
Are you Brendan in disguise? 😀
Fabianski
Prodl kolarov Fonte
Ritchie Mahrez Kouyate Barkley
Aguero Ighalo Sanchez
How's this looking? Sky fantasy so Sanchez is classed as a striker.Don;t do Sky, but it looks like a pretty good team to me.
Thanks friend. I appreciate it =D I'll ask around in case I find someone who knows sky. Good luck
If gomez drops from 4.7 to 4.6 and he is valued at 4.6 in my squad will he drop to 4.5 in my squad ?
ThanksYes
No
Actualy it depends whether you got him at 4.5 or 4.6
I'm thinking he bought him at 4.5 otherwise it'd be a weird question to ask
yes. Sell now otherwise you lose your 0.1m profit
No
It depends on the price you bought him for. If you bought him for 4.6, he will still be 4.6 after the drop.
depends what you bought him for
Yes if you bought for 4.5
Thanks yes ive had him from the start at 4.5 so if he drops to 4.6 i can only sell him at 4.5 ?
Pffft...Blatter recommended to be suspended...
I've never known of anybody in any walk of life be so unwanted by so many people in their job of work...Why doesn't the silly old fool just go away somewhere,..anywhere...Well, the Sunderland job is open
I always wonder what he must be thinking. Can it be pleasant to be him? Doesn't it wear after a while?
He listens to this while he looks outside a rainy window https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N3N1MlvVc4
We shouldn't even be having a conversation about him. How has he got such a brass neck as to still be in his job. It's laughable.
You're right: don't feed the troll.
At that level of executive seniority, with no accountable shareholders or board members, and the accompanying ego of a essentially a dictator, he is surely convinced that he is right and everyone else is wrong. With this kind of insularity and tenure, all of the allegations and attacks will be perceived as persecution and just make Sepp dig in further. It's pathological, and likely has been for a while. He needs to be simply fired, jailed, etc., and any expectation that he will step down is likely naive. It won't happen until or unless his freedom and/or riches are perceived to be at risk. IMO.
The pace of new posts have picked up ever since Mark started responding.
😀Its more the Klopp effect
I posted my questions as fast as possible in the hope he would reply 😀
Lol
If we assume both start all these games, who'd you prefer?
PEDRO:
AVL
whm
LIV
sto
NOR
tot
MANE:
LEI
liv
BOU
sun
STO
mciMane by a mile. Pedro isn't nailed on at all.
Ah, you missed the assumption!
Pedro for the fixtures, but Mane for the form. Mane over Pedro if we look at both Form and Fixtures.
Pedro def has the better fixtures but Mane has the form. I think you have to take each game as they come. As soon as chelsea start firing, i'd get pedro over mane
tough call. would probably go mane
Pedro is a headless chicken
ManeYou know the answer. Pedro
Mane
Manes cheaper as well
Mane
Mane. Pedro is a donkey.
Mane. He's just better.
Thanks all. Very helpful; with the exception of the donkey one perhaps. Their av. stats are spookily similar...! Really nothing in it at all - i guess it's just that SOT have been scoring and Chels havent really.
Think the points about price and 'nailed-on-ness' are the key ones.
Problem is that experience would suggest that taking out a 'top-four' [i know...] midfielder ahead of a home game against AVL for a hit is normally a terrible idea...How rude
Mane
Butland (Swa)
Kolarov (Bou) Evans (Sun) Azpili (Avl) Williams (Sto)
MANÉ (Lei) SANCHEZ (wat) Mahrez (Sou) payet (Cry)
Lukaku (Mun) Aguero ( Bou)
Good to go?yeah.. who is ur 3rd striker Ighalo I guess
Yep
Yes 😀
Suggest any improvement to this squad?
Schmeichel McCarthy
Kola Darmian Evans Richards Targett
Silva Sanchez Ayew Mahrez Westy
Kun Vardy PelleLooks good imo.
Ayew to Payet
Not yet. Keep Ayew for MNF home to Stoke.
Darmian and a new keeper could be improved.
Chelsea surely won't be 16th by xmas.
When will their inevitable return to form start?!Yeah, they will be 17th by then.
From May, hopefully.Should be now given their good fixtures. Doesn't look good for them.
Hopefully never.
Upwards voted
Glad I have my upvote back for this comment.
How does one get upvotes back?
Not sure. Happened to me a few months ago and I got them back a few days later. But I deserved it..
Mine seem to go after suggesting Jesus porn. Not sure why... 🙂
Now
After Mou has been sacked. It won't be long.
As soon as Chelsea gets 2 wins in a row, I'd expect them to start winning again.
The problem is the morale. Mourinho probably has a few problems in the dressing room but now that the Board has released a statement that they back Mourinho, I think he could be a bit less worried about the job and start working on Man Management. When Haz and Costa get going....that may take awhile...
As late as possible. Hazard for 7.5 next season would be a dream.
Just as I sell Hazard.
Are you making the Haz->KDB move this week Mark? Been considering it myself.
May as well share now...
It went completely unnoticed that Milner had played the last two games in a position much higher up the pitch than previously under BR and managed a goal and two assists....just like his City days.
Will Klopp follow suit with him ?*avg position.
Either plays wide under Klopp or doesn't play, imo
He's the opposite of the likes of Coutinhp and Bolasie when he plays wide. He never looks convincing but gets pts with ease.
Klopp will realize hes utterly average
He might be, but when he plays further up the pitch he gathers assists and goals with regularity..that's all we need to know.
No idea, but I think it's worth watching. I don't agree with some that he's crap. He hustles, and that sometimes pays off.
I was asking today about how Klopp likes his footy. Seems a pressing game higher up the pitch sounds like the order of the day....That's Milner nailed then...maybe.
And the price is right . . .
I suspect he'll play in the double pivot with Hendo (when fit) under Klopp. He's not really a winger or a 10.
Oh he is....he did a good job on the wing/ish for City when asked....much better than where he has been for Liverpool.
Oh, yeah, he can do a good job out wide. What I mean is, he's not a Klopp type winger. He's not a Reus or a Blaszczykowski. Not quick enough for one thing. It's not that I don't think he's a decent option on the wing more that he's more akin to Sahin or Bender.
Arsenals' next fixtures:
17.10 Watford (a) PL
20.10 Bayern (H) CL
24.10 Everton (H) PL
27.10 Sheffield Wedn. (a) League Cup
31.10 Swansea (a) PL
04.11 Bayern (a) CL
08.11 Tottenham (H) PL
Do you think Bellerin will start all the league games? Surely there will be some rotation?Debuchy for Sheff Wed. He might have to play against Bayern due to Arsenal's poor performance in the CL..
He = Bellerin
May get a rest for one game in the league. Wouldn't trust Debuchy or Chambers against Bayern.
If they lose at home to Bayern can they still qualify? There might be no need to rotate.
Yes, Debuchy is cack and Bellerin is 20. More chance of Gibbs getting a match over Nacho
thanks all !
Gomez dropping tonight?
Redmond dropping tonight?
Butland McCarthy
Kolorov Darmian Richards Gomez Oxford
Sanchez Coutinho Mahrez Payet Redmond
Aguero Martial Vardy
Which transfer is priority?
Gomez > Bertrand ??sounds good!
Yup
Gomez not dropping tonight, and wait to see what team the new manager plays. No Southampton attack?! Coutinho -> Mane
Transfers in and out are dying down. Gomez might not drop tonight. Dawson didn't even rise today!
I know its probably been asked a million times but is MANÉ nailed on for the leicester game?
Yes
As nailed on as any other player on international duty I guess
(,"(",)
No, he's only started one of the four matches after internationals
No
Thinking off ditching Everton, for Palace and Newcastle i.e Surman and Lukaku to Bolasie/Cabaye and Mitrovic.
Thoughts please guys. Not a chance. Lukaku is a fantastic pick.
nuts
My other 6 are template,
Sanchez Mata Mane Payet
Kun Vardy
Maybe a couple of differentials is a good thing?I kind of agree, Bolasie/Mitrovic both look like potentially very nice under-the-radar differentials, establishing themselves as focal points in their teams' attacks after a disrupted start to the season.
I'm also a strong believer in 8-man attacks. I think in the long run the amount you save by picking someone like Surman is at least partly counterbalanced by the lack of rising team value from that position. And having 8 players isn't for fixture rotation (though that can be useful) so much as allowing you to avoid panic transfers and hits. I think in general people hugely underestimate how often even key players miss out through minor injury, rest/rotation etc. Those who are able to hold players like Silva, Mahrez for a week or two and still field a strong attack without taking extra hits are in a much stronger position over the course of a season I reckon.
lol 🙂
Lukaku is firing though...you gotta ride that.
Does Klopp like to play attacking football?
"Heavy metal"
Nope. He's a Tony Pulis fan.
never heard of him, who is klopp?
Yup, loves to kill teams off in the first 30 minutes especially. High pressing game.
No, catenaccio.
yep
Yes, fast paced attacking football. His teams can be fairly handy on the counter attack too.
Ultimately likes his teams to press though, so don't be surprised at a few defensive mistakes. They aren't uncommon with Klopp's style.
What's up with Gomis?
Was it just because he's faced tougher defences recently?Rikkha's community article on team trends indicates that may be the case.
Worth having a look.
Personally, unless there are mass injuries in my team I'm getting rid.Agreed, Gomis to Pelle looks the route to go cash permitting but I've still go flames to stamp on elsewhere. Gomis stays for me with shaky Stoke up next.
I suspect he is just middling good and his first four weeks were serendipity. He will probably score again, but not consistently (I fear this will end up happening with Vardy too).
Off the top of my head, Swansea haven't had many shots recently and since Gomis is very wasteful, he needs a lot of chances to score.
They also started pre season early to get a head start on the other teams fitness wise etc. I think everyone else has caught up now so their form will have dropped somewhat because of that.Good theory.
I'll check out Rikkha's article now...
Ruddy and Boruc look set to drop.
Top 3 transfers out look like Yaya, Pedro and Gomis w/ Pedro the closest to dropping at -43.4 % (the others should take much longer).
Dawson (97%) and Gomes (92%) closest to a rise.Ruddy has been meaning to drop for the past month, so i believe he's untouchable and won't drop.
Really? About 30k transfers out net since GW1 when priced at 4.5 (as he is now)...maybe it finally happens?
Begovic,mccarthy
Sagna,cresswell,francis,Gomez,Ward
Sanchez,Mahrez,KDB,Hoolahan,Payet
Martial,Kun,Vardy
0m in the bank. 1FT.
What to do? Sagna might not play much. That counts for Gomez too. I am also tempted by Martial to Pelle.I think it looks fine. If you want to do martial to Pelle them there doesn't seem any real problems. Wait until Sanga is rotated before ditching him imo
Anyone want to nail down the risers and fallers for tonight? It looks to me that there won't be any risers?
Look a couple posts up
The riser might just be Dawson only..
Do you reckon Sterling will start this GW ?
Depends on international minutes across City midfield. I'd say he's still first choice but City have Sevilla in midweek and rotation in those positions looks inevitable.

Evening all!
Just looking a for little advice on what you think the best transfer(s) to make this week are. Currently set up like this:
Begovic • McCarthy
Kolarov • Kompany • Williams • Francis • Gomez
Sánchez • Pedro • Payet • Mahrez
Agüero • Martial • Vardy
1FT 0.1ITB
Currently thinking about a hit for:
Kompany and Pedro > Bertrand and KBD (-4)
Really fancy Bertrand for BAPS, attacking potential and clean sheets. Regarding the latter, I mean to post some analysis on their defence and their assets.
Alternative is to do Pedro > Walcott for free, or Martial > Pelle.
The latter seems like too much of a knee jerk, but I do fancy Pelle.
Either way, I'll probably wait until later on to do it. I'd like to review Kompany's fitness before the weekend, as if he is fit I don't think a hit will be worth it, so I might save the FT and do the moves the following week.
Thoughts?
